I was craving Vietnamese and LeQuy, well, is Vietnamese. That's about all I can say. I ordered what some might call "a bit much" for one, but I was hungry so whatever: - #33, Beef Combination Pho - #56, Grilled Shrimp and BBQ Beef Rolls Vermicelli with extra shrimp and beef rolls - #25, Special Chicken Wings - #62, Seafood Chow Mein (Soft) - Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk - Thai Iced Tea I got this delivered too and the food was still quite warm, so I don't think the delivery time made much of an impact on anything. I also asked for extra soy sauce and they didn't give me any, which was a little annoying. First, the pho. I love pho although I'm not sure I would know excellent from just good. But this pho was, um, pretty average. Broth was light to the point of lacking flavor. Noodles were fine as was the meat, but the quantity was too small. $14 before all the taxes and fees, it's just not worth it. The Grilled Shrimp and BBQ Beef Rolls Vermicelli was my favorite, although for $25 it also wasn't perfect. My main issue was the uncooked onion in the BBQ beef rolls. It was unpleasantly tough and overpowering. I love onion, sometimes even raw onions, but this was just unpleasant. The wings were very good, no complaints although an interesting observation - they only served flats, no drummettes. You'd think it'd be roughly a 1:1 ratio but no, only flats. Anyway, these were crispy with a nice sticky coating, nothing to complain about. The Seafood Chow Mein, well, it had a good amount of shrimp and squid, which was nice. But it was swimming in sauce and the noodles weren't "soft", they were overcooked and mushy. Not a great effort and I ended up not eating most of this. If they had remembered my soy sauce maybe I could have salvaged it, oh well. I also got Thai iced tea and Vietnamese coffee, because apparently I prefer to drink my desserts. Seriously, these things are so sugary. Anyway, tastes for both was pretty standard. The quantity for the price was fine. So all in, this was ~$70 of food. Obviously I was full, but I wasn't that happy. The low-flavor pho with minimal meat, the unpleasant beef rolls, the gloppy chow mein... it just combined into a meal that was underwhelming. The most annoying part was that I think they could have made it better pretty easily. Include more meat with the pho, cook the onions in the beef rolls a little more, use less sauce in the chow mein. Nothing crazy and this would be a 4 star review. But as-is, this place is just ok. If you're really craving Vietnamese then yes, this place is Vietnamese, but it's nothing special. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night before watching a movie at the AMC! The place was not crowded at all and there was no wait at 7 pm. Food: This is a really standard Vietnamese noodle place and I got the combination pho! The pho was tasty and had huge portions, I couldn't finish and the noodles were plentiful and chewy. Chicken thigh pho $14.95: the broth was nice and hot and had good flavor. The chicken on the other hand was not good at all to me. Im pretty sure the chicken was boiled hours before then placed in a container till someone orders the chicken. Im pretty sure that they think by pouring hot broth on top of it will warm it up but it didnt. The chicken wasn't warm and had a horrible taste to it and even worse after taste, next time ill just get a no meat pho, because the broth was actually good. 5/10 Traditional spring rolls $11.25: they were good and super large but ive never paid above $6 for spring rolls, so they were pricey to me. We got the crispy egg rolls, the combination crispy chow mein, the tofu & vegetables pho, and the chicken thigh meat pho. We thought everything was excellent except for the pho, which was subpar. This was kind of disappointing because LeQuy is known for how good their pho is so I came in with higher expectations. Maybe it was just an off night they were having though. We didn't get any garnishes with the pho and when we asked for them, they brought us the bean sprouts steamed which kind of defeated the purpose of the crunch they normally add. This was a heavy disappointment for me. The crispy chow mein was really good, I enjoyed the crunch and also when they got soggy in the sauce. The flavor was there and good. We were DEBATING between which Vietnamese restaurant to go to and SETTLED on LeQuy cause the name was SO catchy. This is a CUTE little restaurant with little booths of 2 and 4 seats. Decent place for getting Vietnamese food. Most of their dishes are pretty standard but nothing mind blowing. For an appetizer, I like getting their Egg Rolls. These consist of pork, taro, jicama, carrot, and scallions inside a crispy roll. An order comes with three egg rolls cut in half with a side of sweet and sour dipping sauce. The Special Clay Pot Rice is pretty good. The rice is seasoned and steamed with shiitake mushrooms, ginger, Chinese sausage, and choice of meat. I like it with the grilled shrimp. The pho is pretty good here as well. You can't go wrong with the Eye Round Steak. The beef noodle soups come with bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime. Dishes that have been underwhelming include the Chili Pepper Lemongrass Tofu and the BBQ Beef Rolls. The Lemongrass Tofu is supposed to be a popular dish, but I found it to be lacking in flavor. The quantity is large, but I didn't really taste a very strong lemongrass flavor. It definitely felt like it was lacking something. The BBQ Beef Rolls include five small rolls of beef cut in half. The grilled eye round steak is rolled with scallions and served with steamed rice and a green salad. The portion size for this dish is small. This spot was super solid and met my expectations for a yummy vermicelli-- flavorful meat, fresh vegetables, and soft bun. This place has such generous portions and affordable prices. Got take out here for a clay pot dish and a chicken pho. The clay pot dish is very heavily lemongrass flavored so if you don't like lemongrass beware! The flavor is a bit too strong and I had to pick out the areas with less lemongrass to eat, the pork bbq itself was not bad though. Le Quy is a Vietnamese Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Campbell. What makes me always coming back to this restaurant is their: 1. Le Quy signature Chicken Wings. They are totally delicious! Crunchy on the outside, and sweet n salty on the inside. I seriously licked the plate to scrape the sauce along with the meat just because.. I have dined here 4 times and have done take out 2 times in the 4.5 years I have lived in this neighborhood, Campbell. They are expensive and not the most authentic and I only go to them when I don't want to drive 45 minutes roundtrip to East San Jose. Food 3/5 It's decent but not flavorful. For example, the fish sauce (if any that is) is not flagrant. Pho is subtle to the point you can taste the beef. I chose to try this place for pick up. I only ordered two large beef stew pho, and combo fried rice. Once I arrived home I was only given 1 large pho order. The one beef stew I did receive did not have any carrots, and maybe 2 pieces of beef. I basically paid $60 for beef broth. I will definitely double check my own orders next time; however, for almost $20 a pho order, I expect the employees to check the quantity of bowls, especially in a small order. This is probably one of the best Vermicelli Noodle bowls I've had, best word to describe would have to FRESH! Price: $11-17 per person. A bit more expensive than usual, but from a taste standpoint it was justified. Flavor: From the noodles to the veggies, everything was crisp. Typically at most places, the noodles are dried out even after you douse it in sauce, but at LeQuy, the noodles were cooked perfect. Meat/Veggie/noodle ratio was great. I think for the neighborhood, it satisfy the desire for Vietnamese food, but it lacks authenticity for me. When you walk in, you see what looks like an old Denny's or American restaurant with the decor. The workers are really nice and great regulars by name and with their usual order. Looking at the menu, I thought the food was overpriced. It shouldn't be more than 10 bucks for a bowl of pho and that's a large. They only had one size here. I order the grilled pork vermicelli which was completely fine, but my husband's beef pho tasted different. I have visited this restaurant many times. Always appreciate the fact that they do a vegan broth (not easy to find in Vietnamese restaurants). Also the booth seating (diner style) is padded and comfy (again not like most Vietnamese restaurants in the area). The restaurant is fairly sizable so we usually get seated without delay. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is pleasant, which I appreciate. Sure it's a little Americanized and not super-authentic. But most "authentic" Viet restaurants don't do a vegan broth, and are more of a spartan "hole-in-the-wall" experience with little seating. They do a good fresh spring roll too, and its a nice relaxing dinner out for a couple like us.
