We ordered three soups and a salad to start. The salad came out first, the soups arrived second, and the bread was brought out about 15 minutes later--after we had already finished the soups. Entrées were also delayed. I was served a meat lasagna instead of the vegetable lasagna I ordered and was later told they were out of the veggie option, without being asked about a substitute. I then ordered a cheese pizza with tomatoes and basil. After a very long wait, it arrived in a to-go box with hardened cheese. ( I never asked for a to go box!) Once home, I discovered the pizza had no sauce. Overall, the experience involved long waits, incorrect orders, and poor communication, despite the restaurant not being busy. I would not return and neither should anyone else!

Lighting was bright, artificial lights were on. I ordered at 1:09 pm. The sandwich was done at 1:17 pm. They were working on multiple orders. A few customers were inside. There were three tables inside. Newspaper clippings were placed on the walls along with certificates and decorations. Bars were on windows. Shades or curtains were placed on other windows. Cannoli were no longer in the fridges. I went here years ago so I noticed the small changes. Smells of food wafted through the deli. Menus were placed at the top of the wall. It's great that they take Apple Pay. I had to move my phone around to make sure the system processed my card but it worked. I think they updated their POS system. Both the employee and Mary told me have a good day and I thanked them both.

On top of that, there was a hair in my husband's food! We called and spoke with Leslie, the alleged manager, and instead of apologizing, she argued that "the kitchen doesn't carry onions" and that "our chefs don't have hair," which honestly made the situation even more ridiculous. Meanwhile, we were sitting there hungry, irritated, and unable to eat the food we paid for. Her solution was basically "you can order something else", which after this experience, we absolutely would never do. She also said my husband would get a refund, but there was still no real apology or accountability, just excuses and defensiveness. Honestly, just really disappointed. If the kitchen was overwhelmed or overbooked, they could have simply said so. We would have respected the honesty far more than careless food prep and zero concern for an allergy issue.

Super soft mushrooms, great flavor, nicely cooked. I normally don't enjoy much rooms because they can get...squeaky. These were a generous amount, silky and smooth, and imparted a lot of great mushroom flavor to the rice. Another dish I'd order again anytime! We've also had both the lasagna and the gnocchi (w panna) and enjoyed them. The gnocchi in particular were so well made, just the perfect texture, pillow soft and a generous portion. You get a choice of sauces so I'd come back and try these with another sauce in the future just to see how that is. The panna was a lovely cream sauce with a light shallot flavor. I enjoyed it more and more as I ate and the sauce thickened. It was delivered pipping hot, so you have time to let the sauce set before digging in. Arugula & raddichio salad was SO fresh, delicious light dressing, excellent cheese. They kindly split this on two plates for us to share. Ever subsequent time we have ordered a salad they automatically do us this kindness. Very thoughtful. We have also tried the spinach and pear salad special of the day, which was delightfully tender spinach, tasty pears and an aged cheese in a wonderfully fresh dressing. I love their salad specials! We also had the special of the day appetizer which was buratta, prosciutto e melone. Delightful! The melon was crunchy & sweet, the prosciutto was great, and the buratta was so creamy. Service was excellent. Everyone who works here is very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They always have amazing specials, so be sure to ask about those. We have ended up ordering some of those every time we have been here. One of my favorite Italian places in all of LA. The quality is consistent, the menu is varied, the specials are actually special, and the covered outdoor patio area is great in all seasons. We will be back many times, I am sure.

I was only able to eat half the Mr. G's and one slice of pizza, but both were so good, I got back on Postmates and ordered the same for my best friend in North Hollywood, haha!
