I spent 216 dollars diagnostic fee at this shop with no good outcome because the owner told me to…read moretake the car somewhere else after he charged the diagnostic fee. He said he didn't want to waste my time or his time. He recommended a mechanic that specializes in Mercedes. I thought that they offers minor and major repairs for new and older cars based information on their website. When I called and talked to Scott, the owner, prior to towing my car there, Scott said that they could fix the car although I'd have to wait a few weeks before towing my car there. I said that's okay with me because I was not in a hurry. However, I didn't expect that once I tow my car there, they would not work on the car for weeks afterwards. This was not the impression that I got initially. After I towed my car there, the young lady who greeted me told me that it would take only 2 hours before the mechanic can diagnose the problem on this classic car. After I towed my car to Woodinville Import Auto Repair, the car was left in their parking lot for weeks. Staffs at this shop kept calling me with different prices on diagnostic fee and different timeline. When I called to follow-up after weeks, Scott's wife said that their mechanic will look at my car whenever he had free time. She told me that if I wanted to mechanic to look at the car sooner, it would be expensive, up to 1,000 dollars to diagnose the car issue. They talked down to me and blamed that I misunderstood Scott's wife and etc, claimed she never said anything like that. They made me feel like I could not communicate well in English when I have been in the U.S. for almost 30 years (since I was a little girl). I went to middle school, high school, undergrad at UW and even got a doctorate degree in the U.S. How can they blame their lack of competent mechanic, their lack of care to customer's car, their poor time management on me as a customer?! I thought it was very odd the interactions that I experienced at this shop. Scott charged me 216 dollars for diagnostic fee, but that was not that helpful at all. This is because when I tow my car to other shop after this, other reputable shops will need to re-examine the car again anyway before they fix the car. Updated: I ended up towing my dad's 1990 classic Mercedes (420 SEL) to another shop in Renton. My experience at another shop was so different and wonderful compared to this business. At another shop in Renton, they took really great care of this car. The shop in Renton diagnosed the car within hours and got the car fixed in days. The diagnosis they gave me in Renton was much more detailed. Now the car is fixed and it drives AMAZING as it is supposed to be because it's 1990 Mercedes 420 SEL (my dad loved this car so after he passed, I wanted to fix the car). This made me realized it was such a mistake to take my dad's classic 1990 Mercedes to Woodinville Import Auto Repair. This was my first experience dealing with a car shop because I usually drive new cars. I honestly didn't know what to expect. Now that I took the 1990 Mercedes to another shop that treated me normal like how it is supposed to be, I realized that Woodinville Import Auto Repair was not good at all. I think what happened was that even though they scheduled me to tow my car there to fix, they ended up fixing others' cars first. They took priority to fix other cars because they thought my car was old (it's a classic car). Then the worst part, both owners tried to blame ME for their poor time management. They kept blaming the issue on "communication" with me. They "thought I was not in a hurry." Yes, I was not in a hurry but to leave the car in the parking lots for weeks is not acceptable. To keep changing their price of diagnostic fee is NOT NORMAL. They acted like I was abnormal for calling them to follow-up after weeks of no progress. They let the car stays at the same place in the parking lot outside for weeks, charged 216 diagnostic fee, talked down to me as if I was the problem. They didn't really do much to "diagnose" the car. The owner said that he didn't want to waste my time or waste his time by fixing this car after he diagnosed the problem. I had to pay extra tow fee to tow the car to another shop. Other shop will have to re-do the diagnostic process and charge the diagnostic fee again. As a result, I paid total of 700 dollars (round trip towing fee and diagnostic fee) for nothing because of this business. What frustrated me the most was that the owners of this shop tried to blame me for many things such as "wasting [their] time" or "communication" issue. When this was supposed to be a straight forward situation. Scott told me the car needs a new fuel pump when fuel pump was new. When I took it to other shop, they spent hours diagnose the car correctly and fixed it within days. If you are looking for an honest auto shop that will treat you with respect, I don't feel that this is the one.

This is one of those "I wish I could give them more stars" situations…read more I was born and raised dealership kid. Working in a dealership was a family generational tradition. Your car only went to a dealer till it died and then you would start the process all over again. Going to a non-dealer was a big no-no and was heavily ingrained in my core beliefs. After every 6months of spending 500$+ every "oil change", getting recommended things I knew weren't true, and having a problem every single time I picked up my car (parts not put back on, lug nuts missing, my whole engine air filter assembly disappearing) enough was enough. Terrified and going against everything I've ever believed in I chose this place due to its proximity to my work and they worked on my boss's truck when he had an emergency. I could not be happier with this place. From start to finish everything was perfect. Communication, quality of work, timeliness, and recommendations that matched up. I wish I would of done this sooner. Will be back, and when the service plan is up on my other car it will be going there as well. My confidence in them is so high. Brought the car back to fix a small paint issue. Second visit: car came back with the initial issue fixed, but even more scratches similar to what we noticed after first visit. A razor blade was left in the trunk and a long scratch from the passenger door to the taillight. Oh and the super boost setting was on, which we never use. Third visit to fix the damage they had done: most was addressed, but not all. Now that it's been lighter out (Seattle dark and rainy winter) we noticed that the paint doesn't match the rest of the car. They have a separate location for bodywork, which they didn't tell us upfront until we asked where they were doing it and it's "down the street". It is going to cost us thousands of dollars to fix their workmanship and don't trust taking it there for a fourth time.

I brought my 2018 Audi Q5 to Advanced European after a collision (sprinter van hit my vehicle) to…read morediagnose vibration and rhythmic noise issues that developed afterward. I sent Advanced European a video of my engine vibrating while creeping in reverse but wasn't sure if the issue was truly the engine mounts or some other cause, since I only started to notice this issue after the collision. I wanted Advanced European to review the video that may point to failed engine mounts but to focus their attention on the vibration and rhythmic sounds I heard when creeping in reverse. These vibrations and sounds were the main priority to me, and I trusted that Advanced European would conduct a comprehensive diagnostic by reproducing the issue, identifying the cause, and offering the correct recommendation to repair the cause. Their initial work order stated: "Customer states vehicle was impacted on left front and was repaired but since repair there is a vibration felt at idle. Check and report." It's worth noting that I told Advanced European that the vibration was most apparent in reverse. After their diagnostic, I was told I needed new engine mounts and a camshaft cover reseal, costing roughly $4,300. However, Advanced European said that they could not reproduce the issue and at this time I should have pushed for a more thorough diagnostic given their inability to reproduce it. It was a significant mistake to not request continued testing until they could reproduce the issue with my vehicle before providing repair recommendations. Unfortunately, I trusted Advanced European's expertise and proceeded with the repair anyways because I was concerned that my vehicle may be dangerous to drive, and we used this vehicle to take my infant daughter to and from daycare each day. To their credit, they did provide a photo of my removed engine mounts and said they were indeed worn. Unfortunately, the vibration and noise issues persisted after these repairs, leading me to question whether the diagnostic adequately addressed the specific symptoms. Afterwards, through my own research, I found an Audi Technical Service Bulletin (TSB #2045108/2) that describes symptoms nearly identical to what I was experiencing - vibrations and rattling when pulling away in forward/reverse and during gear changes. This made me wonder if a more targeted diagnostic approach might have identified the root cause initially. I felt that Advanced European, which specializes in European autos, would be aware of such issues and could have presented this Technical Service Bulletin when I initially brought the vehicle in for the specific issues cited in the document. After posting my original review, Advanced European reached out proactively to make things right. They provided a complimentary second diagnostic and are now investigating the specific TSB issue I found. During this visit, when they again said they couldn't reproduce the problem, I was able to demonstrate it clearly with a technician in the vehicle - the vibration and noise were very apparent and loud, especially when reversing. Advanced European acknowledged the issue for the first time and confirmed that they had not been able to reproduce it on their own (before recommending the repairs I paid over $4K for). They've ordered the proper diagnostic tool to check the TSB-related issue and are exploring other possibilities like exhaust-related causes since they cannot yet confirm whether the TSB issue is the root cause. I appreciate their willingness to revisit the problem and their responsive customer service. Areas for improvement: My main concern remains that the initial diagnostic was not comprehensive enough since they did not reproduce the issue and instead recommended repairs that did not solve the primary issue I raised when I first contacted Advanced European. Positives: Quick service, easy scheduling, friendly and responsive communication, and most importantly, their commitment to making things right when concerns were raised. I'll update this review once the investigation is complete.
