Could not diagnose my car issue. Did one simple check not doing no other tests. No code check, no fluids checks, other ways to diagnose the issue. It is more like we spent time on it now you owed us money. No sense of customer service for not delivering on the service. They could of roll the diagnosis fee into at least a service. Furthermore, they wanted to diagnose the issue and give them recommendations on next steps with no guarantees on results. The whole reason to bring your car to a mechanic shop is to get their expert opinions. InsteadI felt as though I was supposed to provide customer service and give them sort of expert guidance. I wanted to give local shops a chance but your experience often falls short. Small shop with little foreign car knowledge contrary to the name of the business. I am sure they are honest but not competent. You need only to bring straight forward issue that not complex with them and be ready to provide buyer service. read more

Went to QFA for a coolant flush in December and was very happy with the service. The woman who booked the appointment sounded annoyed but wrote it off as probably a bad day. Three months later my SUV all of the sudden says In red no coolant. Called asking to come by and have it looked at explained it was leaking. The front desk lady refused to book me and said put more coolant in. I explained I could do that but it's still going to leak. Put more coolant in, went 10 miles and coolant was empty again and my engine overheated. Won't be calling back to try and book again read more

Stopped in unannounced with an unknown fuel leak. Was able to get a ride to work from them as I work close by. They quickly worked me in, assessed and fixed the problem of an unconnected vent line that hadn't been caught by the auto repair shop I just left that morning. This is my new auto mechanic shop! Had my Mercedes serviced by them and a few days later noticed a burning oil smell so I decided to look under my vehicle and sure enough I had a puddle of oil in my garage and oil was all over the underside. I called them and the older lady told me to bring it in right away, so I did. I then sat waiting for over an hour in their waiting room before they could even start looking at my vehicle. Turns out they forget to tighten the oil drain plug, something as simple as that should have not been forgotten, especially since my Mercedes was only at their shop for an oil change! To make things worse they left the bottom of my vehicle covered in oil. The older lady at the front desk was very rude to me and acted like it was not a big deal. Great service by Katie at the front desk. My car was making a weird noise and I took it in to have it looked at. They were very responsive and accommodating to my schedule. Ended up with a fair price and good quality. Only call-out was they had initially over-quoted me by $200 saying there was a duplicate line on the sales order. Most likely just an honest mistake but not sure if it may have been an attempt to get a higher price. Overall good experience though read more

I am not sure if its this highway or what but Bothell-Everett Hwy seems to be riddled with incompetent mechanics and their shops. I went to foreign aut after being burned down the street. I had an electrical problem with my Jetta, the fan would not kick in and the car would over heat. I explained that I had already spent money replacing the fan, and theromostat. The first thing they did was bad mouth the competition and promise me the world. I left my car for a diagnosis and was told that they would let me know by Friday. Friday came and went and phone call. Monday I called and was told that they had not been able to figure out the problem yet. So frustrated, I just towed the car to Campbell nelson VW. Problem was diagnosed and fixed in 1 day (fam relay). It was a horrible experience. So much so that I got sick of my Jetta. Never again. read more

I moved to the Bothell area and was looking for a good repair shop, so when I needed an oil change, I thought I'd try Quality Auto. If they did a good job, I was planning on using them for future work. Unfortunately, I never went back because a simple oil change turned out to be not so simple. Though I made an appointment, they kept me car all day and never offered a rental vehicle. On top of that the technician broke my oil dipstick when removing it and they charged ME for it! They didn't have the correct filter so I had to come back. Apparently, it was installed hastily because it ended up slipping, and almost all the oil drained almost damaging my engine. Rather then going back, I took it to Evergreen and they did a great job and were very friendly. I doubt Quality Auto cares, but they lost a customer. I now take my car to the dealer and pay more because I trust the work. read more

I usually don't this, but honestly I'm tired of shops like this - Tell me a whole bunch of things wrong with my car and that I HAVE. To get these things fixed . Ultimately they were gonna charge me 948 . Told them I can't afford it and asked if they could work with me and try to tackle affordable (crucial) parts . They said no and that I NEED all of this done. I went to Goodyear on 44th. They told their estimate is bullshit and said they could fix it for less than half the price. I took my car into Quality? Foreign Auto for a diagnosis and they had my car for a week and were not able to tell me what was wrong with it. They did not charge me but, QFA bad mouthed the competition. I was surprised at how vehemently sure he was of the crookedness of the place i was taking it to and how they could not fix it. Being the place was further down the street, It surprised me that they were more upset at me going than not making money. As if now all would know that they could not find my problem. i was referred to QFA by a family friend and instructed to ask for theresa and luke. another mechanic stated i may need to have my turbo replaced on my 2005 audi and could cost me $2500 minimum. dropped my car off and by end of business day the next day i went to pick up my car. i was told that it wasn't the turbo (phew!) but the problem i was experiencing had to do with the mass flow sensor. needless to say i walked about expecting to pay over a couple thousand and left spending under $100! car is running perfect. thank you, Quality Foreign Auto for your honesty, experience, and quality work! read more

The issue with Quality Foreign Auto is the woman who answers the phone. After several miscommunications over the service we wanted for our car, I asked to speak with a manager or someone actually working on the car. It became apparent very quickly that she was not going to let me speak with anyone other than her. I had left a message with the same request the night before and who called me back....? She did. I've had work done on both of my cars there before and the work was good (though expensive), but I will never take it there again. read more

Started using them about 5 - 6 years ago when my cars got to be around 45,000 miles and no longer under warranty. I am sorry it took me so long to write a great review. Trustworthy, will get the job done right, and if you have a concern they will take care of it and make it right immediately. I had my brakes done there and about 4 months later they started to squeak. Brought the car back in, they replaced all the pads no charge, not even for the labor. When my Xenon lights went out on my Land Rover and later the Audi I was able to drop in, get them replaced right away, and they charged much less than the dealer. Great Honest Company! I was recommended to Quality Foreign Auto by Olympic 4X4 in Snohomish. Run by a husband and wife with old school ethics, they are honest, trustworthy and do quality work. Yes, their name implies Foreign Auto but the crew can work on anything! My mother is 89 had a oil leak which was so bad we were afraid to drive it, Luke came out to her house and solved the problem. I have my whole family going there now even for regular maintenance. Hard to find a mom and pop shop with ethics from years ago and know what their doing! Fast friendly service with all your problems solved. So glad we connected with a repair shop that has our safety there number 1 concern. There are times when a business deserves to be praised for the customer service and integrity that they deliver day-in and day-out. I've been going to QFA for almost 20 years and they have come through time and time again for me, and my family. My son drove a Mazda MX6 that Luke and team rebuilt the top-end of the engine and extended life on it completely through high school and college ... it was a life-saver. My Nissan Maxima has 285,000 miles on it and drives as well as the day that we bought it new; Luke and team have maintained that car for over 15 years. There is something to be said for regular maintenance! When I have had an emergency, I can call Diane or Theresa and they find a way to squeeze me in and get me back on the road. While QFA's rates aren't the least expensive around, there is a reason that the statement "you get what you pay for" is true ... their work is done well and only that which needs to be done, is completed ... and after you have been called and had things carefully explained to you. When my radiator went out recently, they found a rebuilt one that saved me considerably (versus going to a dealership). I wrote this review because Luke, Theresa, Diane and the rest of the crew deserves to be applauded ... they really do care! I wanted anyone considering using them to realize that when you develop a relationship over time with a business that treats you 'right', it's worth giving a positive tip of the hat.
