I've gone to Evergreen Autoworks for my niche Ford Thunderbird three times now, most recently, for my 30k milestone service as written in the service manual. Each time, they have provided not only great customer service (Nick, you rock!) but have always looked over any of my worries to ensure I can drive my 20 year old vehicle regularly with confidence. They don't aim to upsell you, they aim to investigate any concerns you may have, and are honest with you when everything is in good, working condition -- even sending 3-month follow up texts to make sure everything is still going smoothly. Great auto shop! I Returned here after my service contract with the dealer was done (I am never buying one of those again). I knew Evergreen had done good work on my previous vehicle. Nick was friendly and thorough going over what work was being done to my vehicle. Very communicative with the ETA and if the job can be completed today of if I will need to reschedule. AVOID!!!!!!!!!! Would give this place ZERO stars if I could. I've spent the last month trying to believe that their excellent customer service wasn't just a show to cover for their horrid mechanical service (or LACK of) but can no longer deny the evidence in front of me of being charged $172 for a job that wasn't done. I called to ask a quote for my valve body to be examined for possible damages due to a DIY accident where boyfriend dropped it. Clips were broken cuz I heard snaps. We weren't able to torque it back to spec either and weren't sure if atf fluid was low. I just needed to know if when we dropped it, we killed it. Shop cited me $180 for diagnostics. I felt that was fair. On the service request says NOTHING about the valve body needing to be checked for damages just "loose." They also got my name wrong on file somehow when the customer rep working with me had it correct. They did NOT examine the valve body for damage, they did NOT diagnose the problem. As written in the service receipt, 3 tabs of the wiring harness were broken, this is a part located on the outside of the valve body. I WAS NOT ASKING for an assessment of the harness--- I needed to know if the valve body was still good. They charged me for over 2 hours of work to check my brake switch and to drop an oil pan. Any DIY mechanic will know that this is charging for hours NOT worked. It only takes 10 minutes to go into the dash, touch the brake switch wire with an electrode, and see if it lights up. Importantly, NONE of this is what I asked for. They were going to charge me an extra $90 for a brake switch claiming my car was unable to shift from park into neutral and couldn't get be job done without one. They kept my car over the week to wait for the part. Then later called to say that the back lights weren't working because I needed new bulbs. When I arrived at the shop to pick up my car, I asked them if I opened my car would I see a new brake switch and they said no, they put the old one back in because the car shifted just fine. I'm confused as to why a shop would take the time to put in a brand new part and then take out the old part if it works just to put an old part back in-- I'm NOT paying for your labor for you to experiment with my money. Looking at the receipt and there is no charge for the brake bulbs-- no parts charged. Weird unless they can justify the $0 by saying they used my NEW box of 12 bulbs sitting in my trunk for the job. Lastly, the quote for the harness job. Being quoted for a 3 hour job with NO valve body diagnostics, no info on its condition. A valve body with damage or broken solenoids will NOT work even with a new harness!! So bottom line. They didn't do what they were paid to do, valve body not inspected, receipt contains no information of the result of the job, descriptions for unrelated parts and services,strange information regarding putting in a brand new part and then deciding to go put the original part back in, service request missing major information of checking the valve body for DAMAGE after boyfriend dropped it, and my name is incorrect. read more

So I found out today that awhile back when evergreen auto repair replaced my wheel bearing they didn't put the snap ring back in...wtf is wrong with you guys? Second time you have done me dirty there will not be a third..my new mechanic pointed it out to me and fixed the problem your terrible mechanic caused..most likely on purpose since your in bed with Bayside auto sales who also enjoys screwing over it's customer base with whatever lie they can tell to sell the car. We're a family of four and we've been bringing our cars to Evergreen Autoworks for almost 20 years. In that time, that covers over six cars between our family members. In every instance that we brought one of our cars in for diagnosis and repair, their technicians have been consistent with properly identifying the problem and making correct repairs with a quick turn-around time. Never have they recommended work that we didn't need, and conversely, they have made recommendations for work to assist with the longevity with our family "fleet." It was always at our discretion to have the recommended work performed and there was never any high pressure sales tactics. We moved out of Evergreen's local area several years ago but we still make the drive to their shop because we know we can trust them to properly repair our cars. read more

They're always fast & knowledgeable, and they're the only ones I trust with my car. SO happy with them!! The first time I called them, I'd gotten two wrong answers from two shops already, one which had almost cost me my car because he thought it was a thing that was no big deal (after already seeing my car while replacing the radiator), and I could fix whenever, so I waited. The guy at Evergreen, once I called around to fix what I *thought* was the issue, was honest about what they couldn't know but clearly had experience with my car and knew what he was talking about. Sure enough, it was the same *area* but a completely different issue that was extremely dangerous. He even kept the parts for me to look at if I'd wanted to. This last time, I called Evergreen in the afternoon, brought it in in the morning (soonest I could), they called within an hour and had it fixed before noon! These people are both knowledgeable and great at customer service. read more

They do the work but they charge A LOT. These folks got to my car in a few days, and when they did they wanted to charge me $1,400+ dollars for work with parts under $100 in value (still charged me over $300 for them). I declined the $556 valve adjustment and when I asked the mechanic why they seem to be $200 more than average on that for other shops and what people described in forums he said "I looked in the book" They also charged me $23 PER SPARK PLUG. Now for context, when they were done I took the receipt to o'reily's auto parts and had them look up the exact part (and that was the most expensive model they had for my car) and it still only cost $13 from them. That price does NOT include labor by the way, although even if it did, $10 to put in one spark plug? Really?! They also charged me nearly $250 in assessment fees BEFORE doing any work on my car. And when I came in to pick it up, I found a couple arguing with a sad looking mechanic over the same issue, heinously expensive and long assessments, which by the end he was willing to wave because he didn't seem to have any good reason it needed to take that long. They did do the work and I did get my car back alright and it took on the long side of their estimates but they did do it on schedule and they were pretty nice for the most part. (Paul was a bit sarcastic but whatever, they don't employ him for customer service I'm guessing). If you're desperate or money's no issue sure, go to them. But if you're not rich like me there's gotta be a better way. read more

Brought my Audi A4 in for a failing transmission and an engine problem. 20 minutes after they opened they called me and said that the transmission was failing (I already knew that) and that a gasket needed to be replaced. They said it would be $16k to replace the transmission and a gasket, and it would take 6-8 weeks to get everything and replace it.They provided an itemized quote, which included $500 for a glorified oil change. I took it to Village Transmission who actually took time to look in the car and diagnose the problems and the gaskets were all fine. They ended up fixing everything for $10k less than Evergreen and over a month faster. read more

I have 2015 mini cooper, very loud noise when drive, brought to mini cooper specialty shop and they said both front wheel bearing need replaced and want $2100 for it, so I brought my car to evergreen autoworks and said I need both wheels bearing replace, they quote me $980, drop my car off and pickup the next day, to my surprise the gentleman told me that only driver side bearing need replaced and total out the door was $644, if they said they changed both bearing and charged me $980 and I wouldn't know, these guys are such honest I would bring my car to them in the future for sure, highly recommend. read more

Recently had my hundred thousand mile service done on my Honda pilot which included timing belt water pump spark plugs. Excellent serviced and saved money I'm not taking it to the dealership but still receiving quality work and customer service at a reduced price. Couple weeks after the service my headlight went out and having replaced numerous headlights throughout my life the headlight on the Honda pilot was just not going to come out with any ease. I called Evergreen and they immediately said just bring it down and they would replace it at no cost. This is my second vehicle that I've owned that I've taken to Evergreen and will continue to be a loyal customer. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My car broke down in the winter and the battery died; when I took it in they had it over the weekend and then they called me (I spoke to Paul) and he tried to convince me to fork out 2700 for everything that was "wrong" with my car; including changing the timing belt which ranges anywhere from $500 - $1000+ depending. A few months later I took my car to a legitimate auto place for a tuneup and they taught me something new. When a timing belt is changed a sticker that tells how many miles the timing belt is changed at is put on there. The sticker was put on at 50,000 miles; my car had 77000 miles on it when I took it into Evergreen Autoworks. Timing belts for Hondas should be changed every 100k miles or 7 years per the manual and my car didn't meet either of those criteria; so why would I need that done? When Paul called me he tried not once but twice to get me to pay more for services I didn't need. He tried to get me to change the timing belt and dropped the price from 2700 to 1200 for other unnecessary services. It's interesting I keep reading a bunch of reviews about this repair shop and how their prices are so "high", hmm I wonder why? Long story short, these guys are crooks that will try and tack on a bunch of additional car services you don't need and try to make you think you need them. I was relieved and excited that I was able to get an appointment the same day I had an unfortunate encounter with a beam in my garage. Mike is amazing and went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. The lobby is comfortable and has free drinks and snacks. Parking looks like it can get a little difficult when it's busy but I haven't had a problem finding a spot. The Yelp deals are great- dont forget to check in! I had a cam shaft sensor go out in my car which disabled it on the side of I-405. I had the car transported to Evergreen Autoworks and was happy to see that they were open on a Saturday. All the staff that I interacted with were very friendly and the communication during the repair process was very good. Before they did the work the mechanic suggested that I also change my timing belt and all that other goodies that need to be replaced at the same time. It made sense. Since they were already having to take a bunch of stuff off to get to the cam sensor, why not take care of the routine maintenance and not have to pay for labor twice.They repaired my car in a timely manner and the repairs and maintenance cost what they estimated. However, I have some suggestions: - My car smelled of cigarette smoke. I see that this was also a similar concern with another Yelp reviewer. - Most places clean your care inside and out after a service. I just dropped $1400 in maintenance and repair and was surprised that the car was not cleaned and even had oily smudged finger and hand marks on the hood. - Needless to say I had to clean my car afterwards, air it out of the cigarette smoke and clean the interior to get rid of the cigarette smell. - I was going to replace the spark plugs and actually had the spark plugs in the vehicle. When I spoke to the shop manager he said they would would change out the spark plugs at no additional charge. I thought that this was great customer service until I got the car back and they plugs had not been installed as agreed upon. Conclusion: I only gave them 3 stars because I could not give them 3.5 stars. They did a fine job and were quick but did not go above and beyond to impress me. Coupled with my above concerns keeps them at 3 stars. Maybe I'm being too critical because this is my first real auto mechanic experience but I just spent $1400 and feel that they could have thrown in more of those little extras to make the sting of the maintenance and repairs less painful. I would go back to them again if needed based on their location to my home, timeliness of their work and positive attitude. read more

.I am not sure how this should have been handled but I don't agree with the 170 charge you made Debbie Shaffer pay. She called and told you that she was still under warranty and not to work on it but due to poor communication within your business it was diagnosed by your staff anyway. I think a discount at the minimum would be appropriate in this situation. Also all it would take a decent mechanic for less than 20 minutes to figure out it was the transmission we had already figured that out and didn't need your $170 diagnostic bill period. UPDATE: Upon reviewing my Yelp review the shop re-examined my bill and discovered a billing error on the labor side. They refunded a fair amount of the difference - several hundred dollars. That was an unexpected and welcomed courtesy so I've upgraded them by a star. I found them to be courteous, friendly, and professional. Their front office is clean, well staffed, and equipped with decent computer technology. They diagnosed my overheating problem the day I dropped my car off and the repairs were made within about a day. They guarantee parts and labor for 3 years / 36,000 miles. I found their markup on parts and labor excessive and more than double what the dealer would have charged me. The convenient location and quality of service is not high enough for me to feel good about paying so much more than a dealer would charge. read more

I've been taking our Subaru here for a few years now and they are always going above and beyond to take care of us. Whether it was giving us a free oil change because one of their guys called out sick and they couldn't get to our car until the next day, or this morning, giving me a ride home after I dropped my car off for repair. I grew up in a household of gearheads and so finding an auto shop that meets my standards and doesn't just try to charge me for ridiculous unnecessary repairs is a big deal. They do work on pretty much anything, but keep in mind that since they service such a broad clientèle, they have to order most of their parts which takes time. Auto shops aren't generally places you want to hang out at, but Evergreen serves free popcorn and lattes, so I don't mind making a stop every now and again when my car is in need of some attention! Gluttony aside, this auto shop has made quite the impression. My first stop here was awhile back for a quick tire pressure check since I knew one tire was low, thanks to my trusty annoying red exclamation point light. Phil was on it right away - and with the kindest of personalities, too! Air was put in, and off I went with only the promise to come back when service was needed for my car. This week, I finally needed to have my BMW serviced for an oil change. Fortunately for me, Phil was there to take my car in once again for a same-day appointment. One hour later, I was on my way out of their shop with a revitalized car! What is remarkable about this shop is their integrity. They are NOT the cheapest, but I'd rather pay an extra 10 - 20 bucks to have work done by trustworthy folks who aren't looking to rip you off or find bogus flaws in the car to reap more money out of their customers. read more

Someone hit and broke my mirror while my car was parked in a parking deck and didn't leave a note. So, I ended up here in hopes of getting it fixed. Staff is very accommodating and offers free refreshments. Everyone was nice and professional. I turned out not taking my car here because I can't afford nearly $270 to fix a side mirror. The online cost estimates I found were over $100 cheaper than that. I like the staff, but I do think this place is on the pricey end of car repair shops. read more

I recently drove from Portland to Seattle to look at a used car in Bothell, Wa. I wanted to have an independent mechanic look at the car to make sure there wasn't any obvious problems. I called last minute to Evergreen and Phil was kind enough to squeeze me into the schedule for a quick inspection. I brought my car in and Phil and the team looked at the car and was kind enough to answer a few additional questions - the most amazing thing was that they did this all for free! While I was there, there was another customer at the shop and she also raved about Evergreen and their great customer service. I liked being able to get right in, the work was done quick and didn't cost that much, in fact I saved $95 by switching from the Lexus Dealership, to Evergreen. I had frozen groceries in my car that they offered to put in their freezer while I waited, and all the employees who work in the reception office were supportive of each other and seamed to like their job. In fact the only negative thing I can say is the customer's bathroom was out of order, so I had to use the bathroom in the shop and it was really gross. But I will definitely come back read more

Reliably great service! We've used Evergreen Autoworks several times, through several different vehicles over the years, both for body work & for mechanical repairs. When working through an insurance company, they made the process easy & the neighboring car rental office is an added convenience. When paying out of pocket, they have been reasonably priced, honest about what needed or didn't need repair, & the quality of their work is consistently great. They keep us updated with regular reports of their progress, so we always know what to expect, & their staff is always friendly & helpful. At our last visit, I discovered their detail service. As a mom with a perpetual layer of turf pellets, snack residue & dog hair in my car, this was the best $137 I ever spent!Almost as wonderful as a trip to the spa. THANK GOODNESS for Evergreen AutoWorks. My husband and I recently moved to the area and had no mechanic ties to help with my lemon of a car. When a loud rumbling started to come from underneath, I was desperate to get it taken care of. Evergreen Autoworks had me bring it in, gave me a ride home and promised to call after they'd looked at it. I didn't even mention I couldn't spend a million dollars on my car but when the service guy called he was quick to say he only wanted to do what needed to be done and would prioritize it for me so I could make my money go to the right places. Their prices were MUCH lower than I'd expected, they were so friendly and supportive and the last thing they were trying to do is convince me to spend money on more than I needed. I brought my car in for some body work because my clear coat was chipping and peeling on the hood. I worked with Mike who was able to get me a quote that was priced competitively. The repair work they did came out exceptionally well. You can't even notice a difference from what is factory painted and what was repaired by them. A+ service as far as the body work goes. I was disappointed that they started my car without the headlights in, causing an error code. They were going to charge me an extra $200 to reset the code which was not part of the estimate and could have been avoided, but I declined since I have the manufacturer specific cable and computer software for my car. Its an inconvenience and if I wasn't a car enthusiast, would have been out extra money. read more

I had an amazing experience at Evergreen auto works. Phil Johnson has the best customer service I have come across in a long time. He is so polite on the phone and makes sure you understand all polices and procedures before any work is done to your vehicle. He remembers your name and you can tell he really loves the work he does. After my first visit all I could think of was how I could thank him for how great I felt after leaving the location. My first visit my car broke down in the Kirkland area and I did not have a shop close to my home in Everett. Luck would have it, I looked online and they were open late ( until 6 ) and I was able to speak to them before having my car towed to their shop and left overnight. I only have one vehicle and manage a restaurant and need to be able to get to work ( I commute to Kirkland from Everett ). Lucky they had a loaner car for me the very next day. It was a quick no hassle transaction and I could keep the car until mine was fixed. Turns out is was a battery/alternator issue and it was fixed in three days - dropped off on a Friday. I know nothing about cars and at that time they suggested some routine maintenance. I could not afford it because of the cost of unexpected repairs as stated above. I waited a couple months and as soon as I could afford it went back to get the maintenance done. Phil was so honest about all the work, he was a pleasure to speak with. I have never been good at maintaining my vehicles but now I might be more inclined to because of the ease of doing business here - especially with knowing I can get a loaner car for any amount of time- and that I get amazing service!
