Your car only went to a dealer till it died and then you would start the process all over again. Going to a non-dealer was a big no-no and was heavily ingrained in my core beliefs. After every 6months of spending 500$+ every "oil change", getting recommended things I knew weren't true, and having a problem every single time I picked up my car (parts not put back on, lug nuts missing, my whole engine air filter assembly disappearing) enough was enough.
