This is my go to place for a mani/pedi. I go here every 4-6 weeks for either a $20 pedicure or a $30 mani/pedi combo. They have a good selection of colors and offer OPI and Essie products among others. The techs are hit or miss. Some area really great (Chau) and some are just ok. They are pretty busy all the time but very accommodating. I usually call in advance to let them know I'm coming to ensure a spot. Seems sanitary. They always open instruments from a sterilized pouch. I have never had an issue with infections or anything. I think this place is trustworthy and well worth the $$. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted a reasonable and quick mani/pedi! read more

Clean and spacious place. Got gel, $30 (before tip). Friendly service and pretty efficient (they were very busy right at opening, noon on Sundays). There were a few chips and inconsistencies when it was all said and done, and I've never had the skin of the tip of my fingers cut so much (you can see the cut marks in the picture) read more

Today was my first time here, and I don't think it will be my last! The workers here are so nice! I called 30 minutes beforehand to let them know I was coming. I was able to be seen right away. Kayley? I think that's her name, did my nails and she did a great job! I only came for gel polish change and it looks like I got a manicure. She took her time and filed my nails to perfection. I would definitely come back to try their pedicure services. They had the color I get all the time (OPI funny bunny) so I can't speak on the rest of their color selection. If you're looking for a no frills salon with a slightly cheaper price than the surrounding salons I would give them a try! read more

This place is great! Perfect location and perfect price! A mani/pedi is 30 dollars and eye brows are 9! I love this place and am definitely coming back! Kim does great work on eyebrows read more

I have been going here for many years. Nina provides a great detail quick service each and every time.

Mani+pedi price has increased to $30, but this is still one of the more affordable spots around. It's not the most relaxing environment- it's actually more like a factory, but I don't mind at all. They do a fantastic job at french mani/pedis, and they're so efficient. I took 2 of my guy friends here to pop their pedicure cherries. They were nervous and a little embarrassed, so of course I took plenty of pictures for future blackmail. One of them warned me that he "literally has the most disgusting feet ever." He wasn't lying. His pedicurist busted out this weird machine thing to remove his dead skin, and I have NEVER seen such machine in all my years. They had to bring out the big guns. I'm used to the tickling sensation when getting my foot scrubbed, but my friends were totally losing control with laughter. I was teasing one of them about it throughout, and his pedicurist played along and asked him what color nail polish he wanted. Maybe red to match the shade his face turned when asked that question :p This is my go-to salon for a quick mani/pedi. The price and service can't be beat. read more

Stopped by to kill some time after work and I was not disappointed one bit! Leon Nails has great ratings on Yelp for a reason. My technician's name was Mimi, and she did a fantastic job on my shellac ($30). It took about 45 minutes, which may seem long, but only because she took her time in paying attention to every little detail. My shellac is the best I've ever had! They do allow walk-ins, but I got lucky with an available tech. The place was PACKED (5pm on a Friday) but keep in mind that the location is in Greenway, so everyone probably goes around that time after work. read more

$25 mani/pedi? I'm IN!!!!! This was my first visit, so I won't give 5 stars ( even when they deserve it) But... After 2 weeks my pedi looks perfect just like it was done yesterday, and I only have one little chip on one nail of the manicure WOW WOW WOW!! This is the basic mani/pedi you will get anywhere but way too cheaper and faster ( love that, if i want to relax will go to the SPA)!! This place isn't fancy so if you are extremely "lady like" probably isn't the place for you, but it's clean (i saw when they opened the plastic bag tools inside),people is very friendly and most important they do a great job! Hopefully my next mani/ pedi will be as good as the 1st one :) read more

I LOVE this place! Thanks to yelp, I finally got a chance to check this place out 4 weeks ago, and since then, I've been a regular-- as in, I come back every week! No I haven't gone all out and gotten a mani pedi-- however I DO agree that $25 for a mani pedi is a steal... and on my 3 visits, the shop was always busy with other Houston women clearly taking advantage of this deal. On each visit, I'd gotten a different manicurist-- yet each time, their work was impeccable. A week later and my nails still had not looked worn nor had a single chip! No you don't need an appointment. No they don't have the fancy spa chairs but I don't think that they're that great anyway, and they are rather cumbersome. No you can't have a fluid conversation with them in English, but that's okay-- they make up for it in their enthusiasm and the finished product: fabulous nails. And yes I'm fancy. Nails done, hair done, everythang did. :-) read more

I've been coming here for years to get solar nails. The price is right and they do a great job on my nails (I can't recall off the top of my head the $ so i will update my post next time i go). When making an appointment, let them know if you have nails to soak off so you don't end up there after closing time (my fault once). They soak you nails in acetone and then electric file the last bit of acrylic still on the nail. Its a killer for your real nails but its done the same at all salons I've tried. If you are a regular, all the ladies remember you and that is always a nice bonus. Once I moved away for a year and when I moved back, they still remembered me and remembered how I like my nails done. Most people come here for the mani/pedi special they have....I think its like $25 which is a great price. I can't review that but the place is always packed so get a reservation if you can or call when you are on your way so you don't have to wait for a seat. read more

Great nail salon with very good prices. I got the regular mani-pedi for $30+tip, and 2 weeks later my nails still look perfect (no chips or scratches - I'm amazed!). The massage chair was very nice and my lady even gave me a quick shoulder/neck massage. The only additional thing I would've liked about the experience is if they did a more thorough foot scrubbing. Still its my new favorite place! Note that I'm not sure how they decide who gets to sit in the massage chair vs the regular chairs where they bring out a tub for the pedi. My friend and I made appointments and were given adjacent massage chairs but then I saw a lady who came in later for just a pedi got a regular chair and they brought out a tub of water. Perhaps it depends on the service paid for. read more

I think I may have found a new spot for getting my nails done. It doesn't get much cheaper than $25 for a mani/pedi. When I went in last week, I was surprised how many people were getting their nails done...like 12-15, meaning there were that many workers on staff! As mentioned, it's truly a classic Vietnamese-run, no frills shop, with good service, attention to detail, and sometimes a chatty lady working on your nails. Highly recommend calling ahead to see if they're busy and when would be a good time to come in. read more

For $18 you can get a mediocre pedicure. I was too lazy to drive to my normal spot and I REGRET IT! I walked out and felt like I didn't even get a pedicure at all! Yes, this place is packed, but it's because of how cheap this place is and not for the quality. The ladies bring over a tub of warm water (yes, a tub like the ones you buy for yourself at home) and doesn't even trim your nails (unless you tell them to, which I had to) and barely even help you remove your callous (yes... I'm a runner so my feet need loving - big time). Two positives: 1. they carry OPI and have a lot of colors for you to choose, 2. they're dirt cheap. Other than that, I don't have any positive remarks about this place. read more

I'm not a mani-pedi expert, but I got a pretty solid one here for $30. AND they're open on Sundays! Appointments are recommended, not required, if you're swinging by on a weekend. I made an appointment for me and a girlfriend Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately after picking our polish. There were a TON of ladies working and a few empty spots (this is why I say appointments aren't required). My friend and I were asked if we were Vietnamese because we apparently looked like we were. I really think they were just confirming that we weren't so they could talk shit. And honestly, I was okay with that since I didn't shave my legs. Oops! One pet peeve of mine is when they put too much lotion on my hands and feet, especially feet. I hate it when I have trouble walking out of the salon because I am literally slipped in my leather flip flops. Here, they lotion and then wipe off the excess. I also appreciate that they let you pay before they start painting your nails. That way you don't have to worry about ruining the polish while you're digging in your wallet for cash or card (they take either). read more

This is a good nail salon if you're looking for a quick mani/pedi and the price is right for what you get. Don't expect fancy massage chairs or anything and their color selection is pretty limited. Your feet sit in a tub of water and I highly doubt their instruments are sanitized well. One positive- the manicurists here are pretty friendly so thats a positive. I'm probably not going to go again since I would rather pay another $15 and go to a nicer place since I didn't feel relaxed here at all. I just moved to Houston, and maybe there are other nail places similar to this around hence the largely positive reviews because people don't consider this abnormal but this is the first time I've seen such a ghetto nail salon. Sorry! read more

I was here just for a pedicure and they put me at a manicure station bcuz the couches (which I think is random) were all taken so there went the relaxing part of the pedicure. I was now sitting in a rolling office chair which is also no fun because it rolls while she's trying to do my toes therefore I'm holding up my legs to keep from moving. I only came here because of the reviews on yelp and now I regret it. My friend and I also felt completely rushed by how fast they were doing our pedicure, shoving our feet in the water and scratching and poking me with their tools at the speed of light. Not fun. Won't be back. read more

I always come here for quick, cheap manis and pedis always knowing full well that it's not the cleanest salon, but this past time I couldn't help but notice the imperfections The floor was pretty gross and covered with cut nails and I've never seen any of the staff use a new set of tools. I know people love coming here for the $25 Mani Pedis, but I still think they can take the time to clean it up a little and sterilize their equipment between guests. I always get good service and no complaints on how my nails look, but I'll probably spend the money and find a cleaner place from now on. read more

They now offer gel manicures! They have Shellac, Gelish, and my new favorite, OPI's gel polish. With OPI's gel polish I am able to get a long lasting gel manicure in the more "on trend" nail colors. This salon is still a favorite of mine. They are all hard working, fast, and always do a great job. My nails look amazing every time I walk out of their doors. Their prices are great too! read more

Leon Nails - OPI's"You Don't Know Jaques" gel manicure - Nail Salons Near Me - Houston, Texas

I started to write this review when I was in the shop but, I couldn't...they were grabbing my hands, my feet...it was all too much. I set an appointment yesterday for my friend and me for 11am today. I arrived at 1105 and they took us within the next ten minutes. When you pull up, please don't expect anything fancy in the way of chairs, jetted foot baths or decor b/c it just isn't that sort of salon. I had an idea that a mani-pedi for men in a good area of town (at this price point - $25) probably wouldn't be all that. I was right...well sorta. This is a no-frills joint and there is an air of chaos. When I was there, there were about 22-35 nail techs and customers, all crowded into a space about 20' x 30'. Remarkably, the Admiral of Appts. (head lady with the appointment clipboard) commands her manicuring militia with precision, which reduces the disorganized aura. I think if they had more space and more room to stretch out, it wouldn't seem quite so chaotic. The language barrier is an issue, as well; if you can overlook this you are in good shape. I didn't like the fact that I asked the person doing my manicure to use the mechanical buffer but she said she would do a good job with the hand buffer. She mentioned the buffer would be "too hot" on my nails. OK...no buffer, I guess. For those guys who might be intimidated by the nail shop dynamic...true, men are outnumbered like 8 to 1 but, in the course of the hour or so I was there...about 5 guys were in the shop getting their nails taken care of. So, be brave and walk in with confidence. Although my friend was not impressed, I think I will go back and get my nails done again. Just to be fair, here are the pros and cons: Pros: *Cheap Mani/Pedi *Good Area and Access to Lunch/shopping after the nail shop *Good Customer Service (for the most part...) *Appointments Available Cons: *No Jetted Footbaths *Chaotic Atmosphere/Lackluster Decor *Close Proximity to your fellow customers *Nail Tech took telephone call during my neighbor's pedicure *Language Barrier *Hectic parking in the lot for the strip center read more

Good service. I went here with a friend from outta town and my boyfriend. The nice viet ladies complimented my Americanized viet boyfriend and said he was handsome, they're right. They did a good job on our pedicures and were friendly. Prices were averages but they do charge extra for diff nail polishes. read more

$25 for a mani-pedi? Love it!! This is a great place to get the job done but, remember, it's cheap because you're paying for the service not the ambiance. I got a really nice hand and arm massage but I think it really depends on who you have. Since the staff is predominantly- okay, let's be real, ALL- Asian, don't go in expecting lots of chit chat with your mani/pedicurist. Most of them will be typically chatting with each other while doing your nails. I don't mind it but some people do. Finally, FYI, for those looking to go on the weekend, I would recommend booking an appointment. It was pretty packed when I went. read more

All the other reviews are pretty accurate. Went with 3 other co-workers for lunch and we were done with mani/pedi and polished in about 35 minutes. Which gave us time to dry. They bought new pedi chairs, so their prices went up. $30 for a mani/pedi Very friendly and they remembered my name :) read more

This is a grand place! I'm treated like a queen, and benefit from the relationship I have w/ the owner's rep. that sits to the right at the first desk, Van. She is charming and upbeat in all her work/dealings. I learn a lot just through watching her. I get the acrylic nails for $30 and the eyebrows for $8. They also have a $25 manicure and pedicure with lots of pretty colors/top brands to choose from. I highly recommend this nail salon for anyone looking for the complete exact experience, you will be dolled over! A greenway plaza precious stone this business is, I've been coming here since I was a teenager. read more

$25 for mani AND pedi... I knew it was too good to be true. I came here on the day after Christmas for some pampering and I got all except that. The manicure job was mediocre. My pedicure was the most painful I've ever experienced. I assume it was a busy day at the salon, which I read is a common occurrence. Nevertheless, I've been to many busy nail salons where they take their time to ensure a job well done. The whole experience felt very rushed resulted in some painful and sore cuticles. I get frequent pedis because of my callused heels and that's what I look towards the most at a pedicure session. The technician merely played around with my feet with the pumice stone and then slathered some super strong scented lotion on my feet. Not cool. I can understand Vietnamese but never let it slip to the nail salon staff since I like to hear about their gossip... but some of the staff at this place is not professional at all. She was complaining about my cuticles and little finger nails. And then her neighbor tech started to complain about her customer too. So when they're not talking to you, they're talking about you. I've never been to a nail salon where there's much hate. Like many of my fellow yelpers have said, I'd rather pay extra money and take my hands and feet to another salon for a better quality of service. read more

I've been looking for a nail place that's close to my boyfriend's apt. Bf and son were taking a nap so I tried this place out on a late Saturday afternoon. Didn't have an appointment, but they gladly found me a spot to sit within minutes. I have to be honest, it's crazy in there. People cramped next to each other, every chair put to use; I had my arms positioned all weird so that the lady could do my nails while my toes were being done. It didn't bother me because they did a great job on my nails. Just got a simple manicure and french pedicure (which lasted almost 2 weeks!) If you know what to expect of the place then you're fine. Awesome price, good location and great job. Just be sure to make an appointment if it's on the weekend. FYI, they don't have the spa pedicure chairs, but personally I'm okay with that because I've read that it's less sanitary read more

Bad service which made for a bad experience overall. I came in for a regular mani/pedi (which is $30) on a Monday after work, around 5:30 or so. The place wasn't busy, but the techs were still super rushed in doing my nails. The lady that worked on my manicure had a frowning face the entire time. The place looks pretty rundown and most of the nail polishes they had available were old and dry, also a very limited selection. Did not like how my manicure turned out -- rough looking around the edges and with little bubbles. I do not recommend this place. read more

I have been going to Leon Nails for years and have never been disappointed. It is a "no frills" nail salon so don't expect anything fancy. However, they are very consistent and my nails always look great. Leon also offers Shelac now. I recommend calling on your way there to let them know you are coming. They will put you ahead of everyone else who might be waiting. Also, go to Leon if you prefer to not have a spa chair as there have been news articles saying those circulate nail fungus, etc. even after being cleaned. read more

I love this place. I have been going here for at least 10 years on and off. Everyone here is nice and knows you by name. Only reason today I docked a star was because Tina did my shellac and cut me. Plus I had an air bubble in my colorand she said it was my nail. Also I asked her to clean up the sides with acetone and she argued with me and did it with her nail. Made me even more angry!!! My nails turned out fine.. She could tell I wasn't happy, but kept asking me if I wanted to do my brows. Do you think after you cut me I want you to do my eyebrows?? When it was time to pay.. I was going to dock her tip. Usually I'm pretty generous especially because I know them pretty well, but she kept telling me she only had a few $1 bills so she handed me $5s. I gave her $5 that was not deserved. On the other hand my pedicure was great. Everyone else is great. read more

The ladies here were so nice and accommodating! Loved my mani and pedi at Leon Nails. Prices are reasonable and quality of nails is spectacular. I couldn't stop staring at my hands all week. The facility was clean and couches were extremely comfortable! I'll definitely be coming back for future services. read more

I think this is the cheapest place in the whole city to get a manicure/pedicure. They just raised their prices as of July to a whopping $25 bucks for both (it used to be just $20!). The ladies are always busy and are very friendly. In fact, I'm almost reluctant to write this review, because now the wait might be longer! Anyways, enjoy the pampering. They do take reservations, so make sure to call ahead if you're on a time crunch. read more

After a three year stint in Toronto, I'm (begrudgingly) back in Houston. The highlight of my move back, though, is finally getting back to my $25 mani/pedi at Leon Nails. A regular there for years (literally), you just cannot get a better polish job for a better price. The same ladies were there when I walked in after three years away; most nail shops have, like, 80% turnover, so you know they're good. They carry OPI and Essie polishes, and gift certificates are available. It's always crowded, so make an appointment. Appointment or not, though, don't miss Leon Nails. read more

I am not a fussy mani/pedi type of chick. I like to be in and out. I usually go on the weekends as part of my errands so I can't waste two hours at the nail salon. It gets crowded so definitely call ahead. There are no fancy massage chairs and this is probably why I love this place. I rather sit back in a nice plushy arm chair then one of those massage chairs that I'm afraid that we shock me at any minute. Another reason this place has been my go to and fall back on for almost 5 years now is because the staff is just so wonderful. All the ladies are so sweet here. Leon is definitely a great place to go and the crowd speaks for Leon's longevity over the years. read more

I am very finnicky with my nails and needed a shellac manicure ASAP. I actually chose this place bc of it's reviews on yelp and I must say, I chose right! It's a little cramped on the inside and it's by no means an "uppity" salon, but I was very impressed by the staff and job well done. I could tell Nancy, the lady who seemed to be the one running the place, knew the regulars well. Everyone coming in said hello to her and she would say hello right back and include their name. And she even asked me my name. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of my nail technician, but she did a fabulous job! I get shellac done frequently, and this is the best looking one I've ever gotten. She was thorough and detailed and took her time. She was also incredibly sweet. Again, if you're looking for a a very fancy/ritzy salon, this may not be your place. But for great quality and friendly staff, I highly recommend! read more

I just don't get it! yeah its cheap, and quick! BUT seriously I feel like its the same as asking your friend to polish you nails! (I'm only speaking for the mani/pedi, no clue maybe their amazing at something else? I'll never understand the high ratings) This place is well below average! VERY rushed, which is one thing I hate about that kind of service! I'm not a perfectionist or anything of the sort, but if I'm paying for a service I want it to be better than what I can do at home. no attention to detail no foot scrub no jet spa no massaging chairs (they sat me in a worn out office chair) Call me crazy but I just thought these were all standard things that one would expect while getting and mani/pedi...NOPE! If you are that lazy/desperate than by all means. Its just not the salon me, I'd rather suck it up and wait in line at another salon and actually be happy when I walk out than pay this salon doing a poor job. read more

Enjoyed my full set & manicure from here! Total cost was $56 plus tip so not bad at all and the quality was above average. Only thing I didn't like (this is getting a little picky) was that even though I liked the fact that they did the full set and pedi at the same time (time saver for sure!) I didn't get to sit in the comfy pedicure chairs. Instead they had one of the portable pedicure tub things. Pedicure came out great as did my full set so no complaints there at all! read more

Van is the best manicurist I've ever had. She was very attention to detail and she was keen on making sure my nails last a long time. One of my nails was chipped and she carefully glued it. Usually people just cut the nail, but i appreciate her thoughtful gesture to keep my nails at an appropriate length. Leon nails is definitely a hidden gem.
