The place was crowded when I got there, with almost every seat taken. The staff were professional and quick, and did a great job on my nails. The prices were very reasonable for the area as well. WAISTE OF TIME! Wow. Walked in asked if they have opening for a pedicure "oh yes just one minute". So I waited just one minute which turned into five and then ten. FINALLY, I sent down in the chair where a lady comes over to act like she is going to start the water and walked off and comes back three or four times. I then confronted her and said if you don't have time I will leave and come back later. Of course she says "no no no we have time" ! Two hours later, 10 toes, $60, I had a pedicure! I wanted a quick manicure and used my Yelp app to find a place close by with good reviews. I called First Boutique Nails and they said they weren't busy at all and I could come in. I was less than 5 minutes away and went straight over. I got there and they had lied. Every one of the 8 massage chairs was occupied with a bunch of other ladies in manicure chairs. I told them I just wanted a manicure and she showed me to a chair where I waited and waited. I finally was thinking I'd leave since I was being ignored and then a lady showed up to do my nails. All the while I had been watching the shear chaos of the salon. I got my manicure ($15) even though she did make me bleed. I just don't think cutting my cuticles so much that I am actively bleeding is right. Also, I put my iPhone on the corner of the table far away from anything going on. I should have put it in my lap, but I didn't think it would be a problem. That was a mistake. The technician went to get some lotion and ended up squirting lotion ALL over my phone. She freaked out and I just sat there and cleaned my phone. I appreciated that she said sorry and that she really tried to help out, but she did make the huge mess. They charged me $42 excluding tip and I was in shock. I paid it to not cause a scandal but was shocked. An hour later I called and casually asked as a diff customer how much a shellac manicure was and the woman again said $35. So disappointed in the false information, and will not be coming back again. I've been here three times so far. I took my mother here for Mother's day, another nail salon messed up my nails so I came here a second time, and now this is my third and last time here. I just can't support a business that lets their employees bad mouth customers in another language. The first two experiences were great, and I wanted to come back for those same experiences, but alas, today was the worst. I didn't have an appointment since my schedule is all over the place right now so I thought I'd stop in to get a fill. She said my nails were lifting so we should take them off and redo them. I didn't understand why we couldn't just replace the single one that was lifting but okay. I got a full set and dipped nails. $60, which is a good price, but... she didn't do what I wanted, nor did she even know what I was asking for. She also cut my nails at a weird angle so it actually hurt me when she put on the fake nails because she also used too much glue and was trying to make a nail size fit instead of using another nail. The glue stuck to my nail bed which was exposed by her cutting way too closely. Then she told her coworker that I was complaining about pain when... she was the one who hurt me and when her coworker put my nails on, I was fine. It did not hurt at all. I'm always a coffin nails kind of girl, so I had her leave my nails long to shape them. She shaped them into a square and started the dip process. I figured she was just gonna shape them more after she dips them, but when she asked me if I wanted it square, I said no, I wanted the same shape I had which was coffin. She didn't know how to shape a coffin nail and got frustrated with me because once I saw her work, I said no, just give me almond shaped nails. She asked me what almond shaped nails were. So she couldn't shape them into the first shape I asked for, and then she couldn't shape them into the second shape.... I was already there for an hour and fifteen minutes. I did not want to stay and have them fix this issue. During this whole time she complained that I was being difficult to her coworker in Vietnamese, saying that I kept changing my mind. She then asked me why I changed my mind and I told her that she didn't shape it correctly and how I wanted it, so this is a quick fix and I'll just deal with it. One of my hands' nails are skinnier than the other hand. It was a horrible job, and I still tipped her even though she was being horrible. I will not return even though this is where my mom loves getting her nails done. Now that I've seen all the one star reviews, I'm worried I'm going to get an infection since she cut too close to my nail bed. I will definitely update this if I do get an infection. read more

I hate to write this review as I was a loyal customer for 1.5 years. I am 99% certain I contracted NAIL FUNGUS from this salon. I got a refill for my acrylic nail and about a week later, I had green nail fungus growing. I had to immediately have them taken off. The lady that took off my acrylic nails also commented on how poorly my last refill was done. Deep grind marks in my nails and just overall not good. Nail Fungus = Unsanitary practices. I've been coming here for over a year now and I love it. Clean, great customer service, and plenty of technicians. Manicures ($15) come with a neck/shoulder massage and spa pedicures ($25) come with a leg massage. Mani/pedis ($40) come with both. If you don't sit in the massage chair and instead in a leather chair with your feet soaked in a personal hot tub, you can save $5 on your pedicure and still get a good leg massage. I usually choose this option when the chairs get booked up on the weekends (deservedly so). They are VERY thorough and detailed, so if you are looking for something quick, I'd suggest going somewhere else. They do awesome men's mani/pedis as well. Instead of nail polish, they spend extra time buffing the nails and rubbing this nail creme that makes them shiny. Everytime I've been here, I have seen at least one male. One of my girlfriends and I have taken our bfs here before and they secretly love it (hope they aren't reading this). Due to my impatience and clumsiness, I've messed up my nails on many occassions seconds after I leave the salon, or even when I'm at home. I can always head back that or the next day to get a touch up - free of charge. I always tip, of course. The prices seem a bit higher than other salons in Houston, but relative to other salons in the Tanglewood/Memorial area, they are pretty much on-par. read more

This is the best mani pedi place, hands down. I've been to quite a few all over many cities - and this is the best deal, best service, best technique, and so on and so on and so on. I've had manis where I thought "I could've done this at home" I've had spa pedis where I thought "that wasn't very long of a spa treatment or massage" This place is AWESOME! They do spend a lot longer on you than the other places (like an hour instead of 30-40 min - longer if you do mani and pedi) but to me, that's worth it. I got to relax, chat with my friends, etc. I'd rather a place take longer and get my money's worth! I would totally come back. After shopping numerous nail salons in Houston for the best nail salon and technician, I was fortunate to have found Marylyn at First Boutique Nails a few years ago. She is amazing with both gel nails and pedicures. The salon is very well run and clean. When I moved to Katy, I made the trip to come back to see Marylyn a few times; however, I did succumb to the convenience of a Katy salon several times. Upon moving back from suburgatory, I immediately saw Marylyn and she was shocked at the damage that was done to my nails from the Katy salon. My favorite place for mani/pedis! The ladies are all amazing! Vickie for manicures is my favorite but they are all great. They do the mani and the pedi at the same time which is nice. You still need to allow an hour or little more because they rub and massage you so much! Polish is always perfect and lasts forever. I can't recommend this place enough. The Good: The ladies at First Boutique were able to take me as a walk-in at 5:50 on a weekday afternoon/evening. The place is close to my house. They have OPI polish. Manicures are $15. The Not-So-Good: The service was kind of slow. The lady didn't really talk to me - at all. Slightly odd, but maybe she's just as shy as I am. The massage was half-hearted at best, but I'm generally willing to over look that - I went for a manicure, not a massage. The Bad: I did NOT get the manicure I asked for. I went in with a half moon manicure (albeit a chipped one) and explained to the lady that I wanted my nails done the same way. - it's not a HUGELY difficult thing - sort of like a french manicure in a fun color, but with more "tip." The lady said "ok" and asked again, while removing my old polish if I wanted my nails re-done like that. I confirmed. I paid first - to prevent smudging my nails. She brought over a brush and a small jar of acetone, all seemed in order. But I left with a standard, fully painted nail. And it's not a great manicure. I picked a darker color - "All Laquered Up" - which requires two smooth even coats to look good. I didn't get them. I have fingers where the nails weren't painted all the way to the edges, I have uneven coverage. I have bumps and roughness from the brush strokes - I guess the polish was old, but it was much too thick. I once or twice asked for a nail to be touched up, but I was assured that the final results would be great. - They aren't. I'm seeing wear on the ends on my nails less than 24 hours after the manicure was applied. I haven't even been very rough on them! So, while not the worst I've ever had, I don't think I'll be going back. It was a little too disappointing. read more

I called ahead and made an 'appointment' for 8 manis/pedis on a Saturday morning. When we arrived, we waited for 20 minutes as they tried to get us chairs next to each other. The salon was PACKED. It turned out that 2 of our group were already being worked on, then me and the bride were waiting, and 2 other girls came a little later. Not sure why we were waiting so long. The most important thing to us was to get in and out by 11am since we were meeting a group for brunch. We were half an hour late because they were trying to sit us next to each other. On the plus side, they were very detail oriented and the manicure included a really great neck massage. The customers there were very weird- one lady kept making eye contact at me and smiling, and another lady yelled at the nail ladies when they didn't put tips on. It wasn't the cleanest place- there was dirt/dust around the check-in desk (only reason I noticed was we waited so long). I been coming here since it first opened. My technician told me she was coming here when I went to her at Nail Ori. I don't particularly ask for her every time I come because most of their technicians are pretty good. I however, did make my appointment one time recently and i ended waiting an extra 30 min past my appointment for her to give me my pedicure. I love this place. It's the only place I go to get my Shellac manicures done. They have an excellent selection of colors and the products they use are new- no old chunky polish here. Whenever I get my nails done they last a minimum of 2 weeks with no chipping. I usually get them done about every 2 weeks only because of all the nail growth. The ladies are very friendly and professional. All their tools are autoclaved and it is very clean. I do, however, recommend coming early in the morning as they get super busy by around 10:30am. read more

Sitting in the parking lot, walking out more stressed then when I walked in. I just moved to the area from clear lake and I saw the good reviews so I thought I'd try it out! I walk in to get a full set and a pedicure, since it's my first time I ask what the cost is..$50 for nail, $27(cheapest pedi) which is pretty typical. Initially at my last nail spot they would offer wine, or a drink as you walk in with a hot towel and turn the massage chair on. No drinks here and the massage chairs don't work I guess. First the tech working on my nails clipped my skin with the nail clippers, then filled the sh*t out of my nails/skin. Not being dramatic she sliced the sides of almost all the fingers on my left hand. When I said something her response was "it does that sometimes" like what...
