I love this place! I first tried they at the Crescent City Farmers Market! They're there all the time if you want to catch them! My favorite thing is their seasonal fruit biscuits. Please please please try this when you go! I don't know who developed their recipes but they popped off. They have some of the best pastries I've ever had. Need to go back immediately! read more

Saw that they had a special Ricotta, Chocolate, Orange King Cake. Had to try it so we came in for a slice. It's a small bakery so we were lucky to get the last open table. We got the king cake slice and a slice of the vegan lemon poppy seed bread. The king cake was good, a little dry for my liking and the chocolate overpowered so I didn't taste much of the ricotta. The lemon poppy seed bread, however, 10 out of 10 and would totally come back just for that. Their other pastries and sandwiches looked good so will be back. Also, I was able to see in the baking area from my seat and the gentleman back there keeps a clean area, was wiping everything down and sweeping and just keeps it looking nice. I have visited Leo's multiple times and have never been disappointed. The quality is fantastic, the taste of everything I have tried here is always yummy. It's such a local community spot that is in a great neighborhood. They offer specials all the time which are always so unique and interesting. The classics here are always a great choice and you can't go wrong. They sometimes have a little pop-up at the Farmers Market also in City Park. Charming bakery tucked near the intersection of esplanade and broad. The breads are full of flavor and carry all the signs of high-quality, small batch loaves - pleasant air pockets, perfect spring. The croissants are flaky and properly buttery-moist, and exhibit fine artisanal work in the layers; there are also a variety of croissant types - from plain, to chocolate, pecan, apple, and other seasonal delights (like pumpkin, goat cheese and honey this morning). There are also several other pastries that I look forward to trying soon! This little place was fantastic. Bagels, pastries, everything was just on point. We had a couple of bagel sandwiches which were excellent. The bagels were crispy toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. The crunch in the outside made the difference in my opinion compared to your traditional bagel sandwich. We have a cookie and a cinnamon sugar type of pastry that was delicious as well. The place has a hipster vibe with a few tables inside. Cool spot which we will be visiting again. read more

This place had such delicious baked goods and it was located in such a cute neighborhood and part of town I've never been to! Almost everything inside the bakery looked so delicious and it was so hard to choose something to eat because everything looked so good, but that mean's I've got to come back again in the future. They had really cool speciality croissants and I went with the blueberry jam with candied orange and mint and it was great and so much flavor. I also grabbed one of their seasonal speciality sandwiches for lunch (mine had eggplant, spicy mayo sauce, and leafy greens all on sour dough) and it so fulfilling and delicious. I'm a sucker for bakeries, especially if they make their own bagels. I tried the loaded sesame bagel & lox, bagel breakfast sandwich and a croissant. The bagel and lox was nicely prepared and fresh, but a little skimpy on the actual lox. Bagel sandwich was decent, but didn't love the texture of the egg. The croissant was nice and flaky. The ladies in there are Racist ...So I have been there at least 3 times and i thought they were busy and couldn't acknowledge me but the 2 ladies one with pink hair and one without They greeted other customers that were white in the establishment with eye contact except for me ..They both just starred at me and didn't say anything when i greeted them with a Good morning....When you know the vibe they give off you Know....And i was naive to tip them 18 percent...loaded on the screen which was the lowest option...its 18,20,25 percent which is ridiculous ...To those Ladies you are RACIST PIGS. read more

Food was AMAZING. Bagel had PLENTY of cream cheese and was slightly burnt (in a good way) and very crispy but still soft. Everyone working here was super sweet and helpful. The focaccia is a lil more firm than most I've had, so if you're looking for a super soft one be warned this isn't it. It is still amazing and tasty, so don't hesitate. The croissant breakfast sandwich (custom made) was fantastic as well. My Ollady had the ham n cheese croissant and she said it was amazing. It's a very simple setup inside but it's not too loud and it's overall pretty chill. This was one of my absolute favorite places while visiting, so don't miss it!!! read more

I always love a good bagel and Leo's Bread delivers. I stopped in here for a quick lunch- bagel and lox. The sandwich is outstanding and I got mine loaded up with all of the goodies like onions and capers. The place is small, but there's outdoor seating and wifi if you want to do some work. I'm incredibly excited to have such a fantastic bakery in the area! I finally stopped in and was greeted first by the aroma of carbohydrates (thank you, *insertyourpreferredhigherpowerhere*!) and then by the friendly folks behind the counter. They were patient with me as I asked entirely too many questions, and as my purchase went from a small brunch to purchasing enough bread to feed a small army. Things I ordered: - Chicken salad sandwich, which was a special; absolutely delicious. - Country Ham, Cheddar, Greens & Mustard sandwich -- fantastic. I don't normally love mustard on anything but on this sandwich, it was the perfect addition. - Avocado, Shaved Carrots, Cilantro & Dill sandwich -- tasty, but definitely my least favorite of what I ordered. - Bagel & Lox -- as a bagel snob (I'm from New York, I can't help it!), this absolutely was delicious. I would - and will - get this again 100x. I took home a smaller wheaty sourdough hearth loaf which they let me have at the day-old price in light of the size. I added a day-old semolina loaf, and the inside was absolutely perfect! On top of these things, we had the iced tea (not too sweet, but balanced!), cold brew (a bit more on the bitter side; I chose not to add sugar, as is my preference, but doctor yours up to taste), fresh-squeezed OJ (good but not AMAZING), and a sparkling water whose brand eludes me but I definitely enjoyed it. On my next visit, I am excited to try the croissants and perhaps some other sweets. But seriously, this place is awesome, and if you're a fan of carbs, come gitchu some. read more

I really love this place. Tucked away in bell street off Bayou road, this corner bakery has been long awaited by me and a handful of friends. The stark but nicely done interior allows the bakery provisions to shine. Breads and pastries galore! This morning I stopped for a plain bagel with chive creamed cheese. It is a favorite. I know - sounds boring - but it is sooo good! Unfortunately I got a plain bagel with plain creamed cheese by mistake - but it was still excellent. The bagel was just the right size, and an excellent balance of crisp and chewy and oh so good. Despite heading in for a bagel to go- I walked out with a bag full of other goodies. A pecan croissant, a chocolate croissant, two slices of blueberry pound cake, an olive focaccia and a small semolina loaf for sandwiches. The croissants are a beautiful golden brown. The blueberry pound cake is full of blueberries and just the right amount of crumb topping in my opinion. Off of the main area where there is limited indoor seating (very well done) is a nice, small, shaded patio area that is a beautiful quiet escape. This place is just as good as I hoped! read more

this place is super cute! i decided to stop by randomly one day and brought home some pastries and my mom and i loved them. all the croissants are super flakey and buttery. so i came back with my brother and had breakfast! we got bagels, i got the lox bagel and my brother got the bacon egg and cheese. we both got everything bagels. mine was sooo good, the only thing is it was a little heavy on the cream cheese (but that's better than too little cream cheese, lmao). and the garlic on the bagel was a little burnt, but i'm sure it was just that batch. everything else was very good. the coffee was very good as well. there's seating inside but it's limited, like two table inside and a few outside. service is great, they are all super kind and helpful. read more

after much talk about this place we showed up. I was disappointed from the get go. We got sourdough bread, but I'd say it was more like a wheat bread, dark, and cooked too long. I wouldn't want to serve this to anyone elderly, they might break a tooth. I said it. Chewy bread, yes, and many sourdough breads are, but this was deeply flawed. the sandwiches were all either bagel or focaccia. both these breads were overtly chewy and not enjoyable. I think I'll stick with french bread, or my usual sourdough from another bakery. everything seemed baked too long. I know this is like a rustic idea, but it literally ruins the bread. the counter girl was super friendly and the employees seem to care, but this isn't my kind of baked goods spot. Leo's Bread is a cute new bakery in Midcity. It is very small and has some indoor and outdoor seating. I went around 11am and it wasn't very crowded, but they had sold out of a lot of things. I got the poppyseed bagel with scallion cream cheese and they added everything seasoning on the cream cheese since they were out of everything bagels. The bagel was tasty and chewy. I would like to return to try their other bagels and their chocolate croissants. You definitely have to get there early before they sell out! read more
