Stopped along the Greenway and decided to check out Flour Moon for the first time... and wow, what a great find! The weather was beautiful, so it was the perfect excuse for a mid-morning snack break. The staff greeted us right away and were super friendly, taking time to explain the menu and a few of their specialties. They make food items fresh. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and they were delicious--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed after a great fitness yoga session hosted by Heart N Hands on the Greenway. One of the best surprises? Seeing Gruet on the menu! Being able to split a small bottle of bubbles with breakfast felt like such a fun treat. The outdoor seating is perfect--lots of space to relax, hang out, and enjoy the views of the Greenway. Great vibes, great food, and a great stop if you're out walking or biking. I went here two days in a row, and I honestly could stop the review right there! But no, I like this place a lot. My first visit I had a satsuma mimosa and the hot smoked salmon bagel with a poppyseed bagel. The mimosa was great and a generous pour. The bagel, I really enjoyed, but I should have asked for light cream cheese. This is a me problem with texture and what not. But it was still enjoyable. This day, I dined in the indoor area. My next visit the next day, I dined in the outdoor area. This day I ordered the sirius rising cocktail (frozen) and the rare roast beef. I love trying bagels when traveling to a city and saw Flour Moon had great reviews so wanted to give it a shot. I ordered two bagels to be delivered to my hotel and they were delivered quickly and were fresh. I ordered an egg and cheese on everything and a sesame with cream cheese. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and on days where the weather is nice, I can see the appeal of sitting outside. What a treat this place turned out to be. If you've read my reviews, you'll know I that I try to avoid carbs like the plague and almost always fail. I've ridden past Flour Moon Bagels on my long bike rides along the greenway over and over and I finally decided to stop and indulge. I ordered the classic breakfast bagel with all the add ons (tomato, bacon, avocado). It also just so happened that they had the creole everything bagel that day and my goodness it was really amazing. I am not sure we have ever done that because there are so many amazing places to eat. You walk through their large covered patio to the cute little shop, where you order at the counter. There are a handful of tables inside and a ton of tables on the patio. I started with a Bloody Mary drink while we waited for our order. They have a water station and cute blue glasses from which to drink water. One of our sandwiches was the everything bagel with egg and cheese. My husband tried the rare roast beef on sesame and absolutely loved it. Also make sure you look out for the specials on the sign next to the register - They are always so good!! I did get a frozen drink there the other day and it was really good (strong) so make sure to get one of those too! Even though the line is long, they have menus you can hold and somebody was passing them out the last time I was there so that was really nice. My go to sandwich is the bluebird. I just love all the different flavors in that one. But i am kinda of basic getting it on an everything bagel lol (which is delish btw). All in all you need to check this place out? This place has the best bagels in NOLA. I kept hearing about this place and how amazing their food was so I had to check it out for myself. I visited last year and the menu says they have bagels and booze. What more do you need? I sat in the spacious area near the window that pouted natural light in the interior space as I eagerly waited for my bagel. I loved the design inside. I also loved the huge porch area outside, where the majority of patrons were. There were lots of seating and shade for a nice al dente lunch. My bagel arrived and my eyes got huge. This bagel was much larger than I anticipated. It was the most deluxe bagel I have ever been served. I took my first bite, and I was so impressed. The flavors matched the presentation. The salmon was perfect and the kimchi cream cheese gave it such a unique flavor with pops of flavor from the mustard seeds. I ate the whole thing, even though I told myself I was going to only eat half. I heard recently they opened a food truck for their amazing bagels and it makes me happy to see this place successfully branching out. I really enjoyed this place. I would recommend coming here for a breakfast before going to city park. They serve coffee (and the cups are very cute - not those random to go cups with coffee made from an automatic machine). I'm new to the bagel world and was overwhelmed by all of the options. Despite the long line, the employee answered all of my questions and I asked my famous question "what's the most popular item." We settled on the Full Moon tartine, with the follow up question "what type of bagel." I chose the cranberry sage bagel. I did not feel rushed or overlooked at all!! The customer service was excellent! The tartine was absolutely delicious! Everything was so well balanced and perfectly layered. I am excited to go back and try the other combinations. This seems like a healthy food spot, which I love! There is limited inside seating, but plenty of outside seating, which I love getting fresh air when I can. Just know if you come later in the AM (10:30/11ish) sometimes they are out of their specialty bagels because they are just that good. The rosemary bagel is what keeps me going back. They also serve a frozen alcoholic beverage if that's the vibe you are going for at brunch. A decent amount of outdoor seating is available, and there is a patio next door for the brewery that people often sit at as well. Line can get a little long but they are decently fast.
