Omg!! First time here and this spot makes ahhhmazing everything bagels. It's a small intimate place with lots of sweet treats and fresh baked treats. I called one day to inquire if there were anymore everything bagels and there was only one, I needed 6 and more wouldn't be made until Saturday, (2 days later), so I decided to wait. Within a matter of minutes, I got a call back from Dale letting me know that he could make me 6 for the next day. I was elated and said I'll be there to pick them up. Upon picking up the bagels, Dale was so friendly and welcoming and the bagels were exuding with garlic (my favorite). They were soft, super fresh and absolutely delish!! The store also had other baked goods like chunky chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cakes and a cool dessert....gelato. I have never had gelato before but I will definitely return to give it a try. I was heading back from work yesterday and decided to take a different route. In Hanrahan, I happened to look to the right and saw a sign for gelato with a glowing neon sign indicating it was open. I did a quick u-turn and drove to The Wandering Goat, because who doesn't love gelato and I was hungry. I entered in a small but friendly looking place, that smelled delicious. There are a few tables and games filling the nearby shelves. A friendly place that is destined to be a staple in the neighborhood. The owner Dale makes everything from scratch and it's obvious from first bite that he knows what he is doing. Small menu, good food, great service! I had The Goat sandwich and Turtle cookie. The focaccia bread is fresh, soft and delectable. Sandwich was toasted and I watched fresh ingredients used. Worth it! Dale said I would fall in love with the turtle and he was right! I'll be back, Dale, for another one! It's easy to miss the place because the sign for the pizza place is prominent, but I encourage you to seek this place out. It is well worth the visit. read more

Came in one random weekday and was so glad we stopped by. It's a cute little cafe serving fresh pastries everyday. We came in late afternoon and they were almost out of everything which is a good sign for me because that means they make everything fresh. I don't know if he was the owner but he was making fresh foccacia bread at the back. We also had their gelatos. The coffee gelato was really good with the toffee bits mixed in. I hope this place lasts. The owner is so kind and thoughtful. He offered a sample of fresh Stracciatella gelato, it didn't have the chocolate and I fell in love with it. When I returned another weekend, I mentioned that I didn't realize it had chocolate in it and I'm not a chocolate lover. New Orleans has a lot of great food and Wandering Goat is one of the newer dessert restaurant options that could be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. We came here about 1.5 years ago. It is a cute little bakery and the sweetest owner. He was very friendly but at the time, you could tell he was a little sad because they were about to close for good. I had ordered a few sweet items, I can't remember exactly, one was a cannoli, I think maybe a brownie, a cake pop, and a cookie? I remember loving the little goat they put in the bag. And to show how kind the owner was, he threw in a could of extra cannolis. I remember the cannolis were a little try and I just didn't love the flavor. I don't think they were fresh. I think the brownie was also a little dry. But I think it w a s just bad timing when I went. I would like to go back to try their non sweet items like their Breads and sandwiches. I've returned to this bakery two more times since my initial visit and it's been very consistent. The owner continues to be friendly. Even though there is a small selection of baked goods they are quite tasty. I've since had the orange cake which was good but the strawberry cake is still my favorite. I've had the chocolate chip cookies, the lemon cookies and the lemon cookies with blueberry icing. They are all very good. I've had about 4 different flavors of the gelato and they were all very tasty. I think this will be one of my go to bakeries moving forward. I look forward to trying some of the non-bakery food items. read more

Wow! I just discovered this great little place. I got the GOAT sandwich and it was delicious with bacon, turkey, tomato and other great things. We stumbled across this hidden gem a few months ago, and finally decided to write a review even though I'm not a big Yelper. Everything there is amazing and the owners are so nice and helpful, and they are always wearing masks when we are there, so the previous reviews surprise me. We have tried several things there, and we have never bought anything we didn't love. All of the breads are delicious, but the rosemary Amish bread is probably my favorite. Their turtles are the best in the city (yes I said it!) and the king cake I bought tonight was really, really good. My only complaint is I have gone there a couple of times for a specific item and they were sold out, but they were super apologetic and explained it was a timing issue since they sold more than they expected. No biggie because I ended up buying something else. read more

After many years of saying I wanted to try this place, even though it's less than 5 minutes from my house, I finally made it. The owner was super helpful. We got the caramel gelato and butter pecan gelato mixed into a milkshake, a strawberry lemonade, and two gingerbread cookies. I couldn't figure out which item I wanted more. I tried their new breakfast burrito today and it was by far the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Full of eggs, two meats, potatoes and cheese. It was flavorful and filling. I also tried one of their choice bombs. If you love coffee, I highly recommend this treat!!! It made my morning coffee extra special!! Of course I can't seem to leave there without one of her brownies. These brownies are a chocolate lovers heaven! She puts chocolate chips and cheesecake in them! The desserts are awesome and the people are great! All homemade deliciousness. However, I thought it was strange none of the employees were wearing masks even when serving customers. Other customers were also not wearing masks and it's a very small space. I really want their business to do well as it is a great addition to the area. If they disobey one health mandate, I don't trust them with my food. And when I spoke up, the response was "sorry to lose you as a customer".
