I have been wanting to change my smile for the past 6 years, but always chickened out. I consulted 2 other cosmetic dentists and both times, I felt pressure to do more than what was comfortable for me and decided to hold off. In those 6 years, I noticed my smile getting worse. I hated taking selfies and seeing myself reflecting back on Zoom calls, so I decided it was time to really do something about it. I decided to start my search for a new cosmetic dentist from scratch and that's how I found Dr. Yang. Thanks to the reviews on Yelp, I was intrigued to see if Dr. Yang really was the best and I'm pleased to report, all of these reviews are 100% true. Dr. Yang really is the best! He not only has a warm and friendly demeanor, but he is an honest dentist who really listens. The other 2 dentists I consulted made me feel like what I wanted to achieve would require 8 veneers, one even went so far as to say if I didn't do 8, I should just forget it. Dr. Yang was able to achieve exactly what I wanted with just 4! The other thing that makes Dr. Yang different from the others is that he has a state of the art lab where he can make veneers and adjust them on site. No need to wait for your dentist to send the veneer back to the lab. His lab is just a few feet away from the dentist chair. In addition to his state of the art lab, as part of the smile design, he will create a mold of your existing smile and also one of your new smile so you can be a part of the design of your own smile. When I saw my "after" mold, I provided Dr. Yang with some minor feedback and sure enough, the final result was exactly what I asked for. I love how my new smile turned out. Too bad I have to keep it covered under a stupid mask, otherwise, I would be smiling at everyone. My teeth are longer, I am more confident when I smile and more importantly, my new teeth look real! They don't look like veneers at all. I find myself smiling bigger and no longer shy away from having close-up pictures taken. My only regret is not having my teeth done sooner, but if I did, I wouldn't have found Dr. Yang and would have ended up with 4 extra unnecessary veneers. I'm a "low threshold for pain" kind of patient and my first appointment with Dr. Yang was to revisit a previous Dentist's attempt to treat a troubled tooth. I've been seeing Dr Yang for years after he took over the practice of my dentist that preceded him who retired. I consider him an excellent dentist and feel lucky to be able to work with him. I have always found him to be extremely knowledgeable, patient and helpful in explaining treatment plans. He has all the whiz bang latest technological gadgets and I've learned so much about my teeth and mouth and proper care from him and his team. Dr. Yang is the most competent dentist I have ever had. He is a skilled dentist who is a people person. He is exceptional at explaining treatment options and walked me through the pro's and con's of the options while looking at enlarged pictures of my mouth on the computer screen. My most recent visit I needed a 3/4 crown and opted for him to make it chair side with a machine called CEREC. This machine scans the tooth and makes a digital impressions, No need for that gooey stuff in the mouth anymore. Then the machine mills out the crown in the back room in about 10 minutes. No need for a temporary crown. When the crown came out of he machine it was a perfect fit. I was able to eat 30 minutes after the work was done Having all the state of art technology in his office makes a great dentist absolutely exceptional. I've been a patient of Dr Leo Yangs since he opened. About 20 years or so. He's amazing, does great work and is a great person as well. If he wasn't working on my teeth I could just talk to him all day. I've never had a dentist or doctor that I could just shoot the breeze with. He also shares all of his cool technology and photos with you so you can about see what's he's doing. He's very gentle with cleanings and even crazier stuff. All of the other people working there are great people too. Sara and Gloria are the sweetest people and not only nice and professional like Dr Yang, they are great to chat with too. I've lived away from Mill Valley for about 16 years now and still make the drive to see these great people. It's definitely worth the drive. The professionalism, state of the art technology, service delivery and follow up was seamless. I underwent a four tooth bridge replacement, from conceptualization to construction to installation all in the same day. I didn't know the technology had advanced to such a level. I know that this office has a good reputation in the community, but in this case his bad decision caused me an extra 24 hours of miserable infected back molar pain. I had an endodontics appointment for a root canal due to a toothache that was bad enough to keep me awake even with pain killer. He convinced me to hold off on my root canal for- get this- 6 days until he had time to open the crown and assess it, thinking I'd be fine on Norco & antibiotics for that almost full week. He said I might be paying for a root canal that was unnecessary. After a miserable night I made an appointment with the endodontist, who is well-trained in assessing the health of the tooth and advisability of root canal versus removal. The relief I felt when the endodontist injected me with painkiller around the site has led me to write this review to hopefully spare someone else this misery. read more

Dr. Yang is the best dentist I have been to and I have been to a lot in the last 35+ years because we have moved a lot. I have been going to him for over 2 years. My husband works in the dental industry and Dr. Yang was a name that kept coming up when we moved to Marin as a phenomenal dentist, including by his own colleagues -- he is so knowledgeable and does great work. He is a perfectionist. He is a highly skilled professional who is so knowledgeable in his field. He is the first dentist I have really trusted as far as needing to do any work such as cavities, etc. I switched to him from another dentist when I wanted a second opinion on whether or not I needed a crown (other dentist told me that I did and in fact I didn't) Dr. Yang explained why he didn't think it was necessary. He knows what he is doing and isn't overly aggressive with treatment. My whole family sees him now. I even referred my mom and dad (72 and 84 years old) and they just love him as well which says a lot. My mom has been to many many dentists and specialists in her lifetime and some really skillful ones as she has had problems with her teeth since she was a young adult. She says by far, Dr. Yang is the best. The hygienist I see there is also wonderful (Taren). She is thorough, yet gentle, personable and knowledgeable. I actually look forward to seeing her! I also appreciate the fact that his office has the latest technology and equipment, including the ability to do same day crowns unlike most other offices in which you need to do multiple visits. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Yang and the crew since 2014. What a miracle! I never thought I would be able to go from a 17 year old bridge to an implant, but Dr. Yang had the vision and I am amazed at the results. I am learning how to smile again! Dr. Yang is great! My mouth was in terrible shape when I first went in a year ago. He was very sensitive to my needs and gave me all of my options. The whole process has been easier thanks to him and his staff especially Sierra his assistant. The state of the art equipment there is amazing! Dr.Yang used a 3D cone beam scan to better assess the repairs needed in my mouth. It was extremely helpful for me to see exactly what was happening with my teeth. I thought I would have to wait a few weeks to get my new crowns but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that they use a CAD/CAM crown milling machine to make the crowns while I waited. Dr Yang also removed all of my silver fillings and milled small pieces of porcelain along with white composite to make my teeth stronger and more natural looking. I'm slowly getting my smile back thanks to Dr Yang. read more
