Mussels steamed in a red wine based sauce.

We started with the steamed mussels, a staple on this island, which are excellent. Chef Kyle steams them in a red wine based sauce, instead of the traditional white, and they are excellent. Our entree was the seafood risotto. It was delicious! This restaurant is also a winery, and they do a very good job. The service is great (ask for Laura), and if you have an early dinner, try a table outside in their beautiful garden. Or check their website. There is often live music inside the restaurant.

Music area. Picture doesn't do it justice. It felt warm.

Ambiance is beautiful. Lovely building, spacious. Food was delicious! Service -- people all very good humored and nice. But food came out very, very slowly, and there weren't many people there to be served. Had to ask for coffee refills and go to counter to pay. Maybe needed an extra wait-person, and I think our waitress got sent to store for Orange Juice. No one attending to dining room while she was gone. So I'd say go and expect it to be slow. Go with people you like and order a drinks or something to share. Expect to be served "on Island time." Food was enjoyable and I'd go back if wanting that leisurely upscale meal.

    Beef gnocchi

Food was really good. We had the crab cake appetizer, beet and burrata , and pear appetizer and they were incredible. The crab tasted really fresh and was full of crab meat, and the pear dish was really unique with a creamy sauce. For dinner we had the beef gnocchi and it was to die for, the meat was very tender and the gnocchi tasted homemade-- there weren't very many gnocchi in it though but I was so full from my other apps that I was fine. We also the chicken bulgogi and that was great, and then my fiancé had a fish and shrimp dish I can't remember the name however the dish only came with one shrimp which was kinda lame but again we were so full after everything else it was fine. I had a Bloody Mary for my drink and it was terrible, I am not a drinker so I get virgin ones but it was straight up tomato juice, no flavor at all in it. And I asked for it spicy and instead I was given two Tabasco packets on the side. Main downside of the place was the waitress was really short and wasn't the friendliest. She just had an attitude about herself like she didn't want us to be there.

Cheddar Biscuits and gravy with breakfast potatoes (I asked for the sausage gravy on the side).

Food was horrible and extremely overpriced. I brought it to the server's attention and I was ignored.

Disappointed with the charcuterie plate. Needed slice cheeses, bread, olive oil drizzled on the burrata cheese.

We came up to Whidbey Island for a day trip, started at Double Bluff beach and looked for a place close by for lunch/brunch!

We enjoyed the hot spiced loganberry cider, adult hot chocolate, and a slice of loganberry pie. All yummy - sweet and tart! The waitress was lovely and shared a sample of upcoming local fudge with us. Prices were very reasonable and this is a wonderful spot to warm up on Whidbey Island :)

I was very impressed with the town and really liked Greenbank Cidery which was in the heart of downtown. For one the tasting room for Greenbank is wonderful! The tasting room has a pleasant wooded and sleek look to it but the main draw are all the magnificent views you get here at the taproom. So definitely don't be in a rush when you come here and admire that view from the windows of the water! The cider is equally great! I had the Hi Boy Dry which was a dry cider... as the name implies and it was perfection! It had a great flavor of apple as it should but it wasn't too sweet or anything of the sort and was just sheer perfection. Such a great experience coming to Greenbank Cider and I will definitely pencil it in on a return visit to the island!

Lots of sunny and shaded outdoor seating with some on a patio and some out on the lawn with picnic tables, or inside the building. This is only the second meadery I've been to, and I feel like their flavors are much lighter, without any that I tried leaning towards the sweet dessert style mead. They have flat and bubbly options, as well as some really cool flavors. They have preset flights but on certain days you can create your own, so that's what I did! I personally really liked the spiced apple, PNW chai, and the hopped meadjito was my favorite! They don't make food but they do have a fridge with some items to make mini charcuterie boards! I found out that they sell their products at pcc's and metropolitan markets so I'm excited to grab some more from there!

The meadery is a quirky, welcoming, family-friendly spot and for this event they featured live music, cosplay (sword fighting in full armor) and fire dancing, along with food vendors. They have picnic grounds, a great taproom, and plenty of mead flavors. Bring your own food, because they don't serve food only drink here typically. Or visit during a special event, when they'll have food available for purchase. For Summer Solstice they had Whidbey Pies (known for strawberry rhubarb, marrionberry and cherry pies) and a local wood fired pizza maker. A hierophant is a guide to sacred mysteries, which feels like the perfect name for a spot prepared to introduce you to the mysteries of mead. We recommend checking out their online calendar, to catch an event here.

It's easy to drive right past (and we did the first time), but we found the small turn up the driveway coming back the other way. They have the signage out there, we just needed to slow down and get on island time. Cute place with an aviation theme based on the owner's work as a fighter pilot. Thanks for your service. The lady working the tasting area was very kind, but not very knowledgeable about their offerings, nor was she able to steer us in any direction based on our preferred taste profiles. She loved the wines at HHC, which is honorable, but not incredibly helpful. All the wines available for the tastings this Sunday were ok, but their big reds were not part of it. She said they weren't able to open any for tasting since the weekend was over, which is too bad. Other wineries like Wedge Mountain do this same thing, which I fail to understand. We stated we like big reds and are members of two other wineries on the island. Seems to me worth taking a chance on a customer that makes a jaunt a couple times a year and spends money on club wines, expressing a desire for what the winery has dubbed their flagship offerings. The pods and outdoor heaters are very nice, the grounds are attractive, we just didn't care for the lighter reds, blends, and whites we were offered. We did buy a bottle of one decent blend at full price, and they didn't comp or reduce the price of even one tasting. Fine, if that's the policy, but it won't bring us back.

Kind service, lovely staff and views. I was pleasantly impressed with the wine selectionread more
