DO NOT BUY GLASSES FROM THIS LENSCRAFTERS LOCATION!!! I had a very mixed experience here. The eye doctor, exam technician, and sales associate were all kind and professional during my visit. This review is not about them. This review is about what happened after I left and how my purchase was handled after I paid nearly $1,000 in full. I purchased prescription Prada eyeglasses and Ray-Ban sunglasses, and my total came out to over $950. For a purchase this expensive, I expected much better service and communication. I was told my glasses would be ready within two weeks, but the sales associate mentioned they usually arrive sooner, often within one week. This sounded perfect because I had a trip coming up in 12 days which was within the 7-14 days that was said. On day 10, I called to ask if my glasses were ready. I was told they had arrived at the lab and were waiting to be delivered to the store. On day 11, I was busy and unable to call myself, so my husband contacted the store for an update. He was told my glasses were ready for pickup, so he drove to the store. However, when he arrived, they only gave him my Prada glasses. My Ray-Ban sunglasses were missing, even though I had already paid for both pairs in full. The associate then explained that my sunglasses were somehow never properly ordered in the system and were considered "orphaned" glasses. That is completely unacceptable. How does a fully paid order only get half processed? I paid hundreds of dollars for these glasses, and somehow nobody noticed the mistake until WE called asking about the order ourselves. What made this even more frustrating was realizing that if we had never called, nobody would have informed us that my Prada glasses were delivered. Even after our calls, none of the associates noticed only one pair was delivered. We were the ones constantly checking on the status of my order instead of LensCrafters keeping us updated. It honestly felt like we were doing their job for them. When I asked why customers are not contacted right away when their glasses arrive, I was told the store waits 1-2 days before calling customers because they receive too many deliveries at once. I could not believe that answer. How is that acceptable? People rely on their glasses every single day. Some customers may be using broken glasses, taping old pairs together, or struggling to see while waiting for orders they already paid for. Meanwhile, LensCrafters lets completed orders sit there for days before even notifying customers. The explanation only made the situation worse. If the store is receiving that many orders, then customer communication should be a priority. Instead of focusing only on new sales, there should also be care and attention given to customers who already spent hundreds of dollars and are waiting for products they already paid for. By this point, I had completely lost confidence in this location. Instead of simply reordering my missing sunglasses and asking me to wait another 1-2 weeks because of THEIR mistake, I requested a refund instead. What upset me most was that no real effort was made to fix the situation or make up for the inconvenience. The only solution offered was to reorder the sunglasses (which should have already been done correctly in the first place). That is not compensation or customer service. That is just correcting a mistake that never should have happened. At the end of this experience, I felt extremely disappointed and disrespected as a customer. Spending almost $1,000 should come with better communication, better organization, and better care for customers. I would recommend this location only for the eye exam itself, because the medical staff was wonderful. But I strongly advise against purchasing glasses from this LensCrafters location. read more

Lack of service at LensCrafters. I had been to LensCrafters a few years ago and didn't have any issues. It was a no brainer to go back for my eye exam. It's located in the mall. There is plenty of parking but since it's the holiday season, parking can be challenging. I went on November 29th for my eye exam. It was off to good start. I paid for my exam and contact lense fitting and saw the optometrist. He was very helpful and friendly. They did not have trial contacts for my prescription and said they were going to order them. They told me that they would arrive in a few days. They would contact me when they arrived. No problem. I called a week later and they could not find my contacts and said they would order them and place a rush on them. Never received a call. I picked out some frames and was told that they would take 2 weeks because there was a delay. No problem. The sales associate quoted me one price but when I paid with my card, I noticed it was a higher price. I asked about it and she informed me that she had charged me for the 1yr protection. She never mentioned anything about the protection plan or gave me the option. I asked her to refund .e for the protection and she did. She also advised that I could pay for it when I picked up my glasses. I'm a little frustrated but mistakes happen. On December 8th, I received a text notifying me that my glasses are ready for pick up. Great! But I have not heard anything about my trial contacts. I went a couple of days later to pick up my glasses. I get my glasses and ask about my contacts. They know nothing about my contacts and said there was a delay. They never mentioned anything about a delay regarding the contacts. I told them the story and they were going to call me that day for an update. I have yet to receive a callback. I wore my glasses and noticed something wrong while I was driving home. The corner of the frame was damaged and there was some glue on the lense. I called and went back to show them. They replaced my frame with a floor sample. I was beyond frustrated at this point and left. I would liek them to replace my frames with a brand new one. Not the floor sample. I have not received an update regarding my contacts and will be calling them to get an update. My daughter needs an eye exam and to be honest, I will be taking her elsewhere. This was a frustrating experience. Stay tuned for updates. UPDATE: The Manager of the store reached out to me regarding my experience. She listened and apologized for the experience. She followed up with me and contacted me when my contacts arrived and my new frames were ordered. I went to my contact fitting and met with the optometrist who was very friendly. For contact lenses, there are 2 appointments for 1 price because the 2nd one is a follow up to make sure the contact lense grade is accurate. Had to call about my trial contacts after first appointment and unfortunately they had the wrong phone number on file. Dr. Christine was kind, patient, helpful, informative and understanding. I've been coming in for years and I've been pretty content with how things work here. I did have a minor situation where I got a routine eye exam & they never mentioned doing a contact lenses fitting. 6 months later, I'm trying to get order another set of contact lenses and they mention to me that I am unable to refill unless I get another exam/contact lenses fitting which cost $55. They wanted me to get another exam which costs more but I told them this situation was not my fault. So reading other reviews it seems like this location has an issue with follow up. It was easy to get an eye exam and pay for a pair of glass ($400+). What isn't so easy is having them call you back in regards to trial contacts. They told me a week and they will be ready, received no call. I call on the 8th day, they seem to like not answering their phone as it rang for about 2 minutes. Then when someone answered the phone, they got my info and said they would call back once they find out an answer for the trial contacts. Been over an hour and no one has reached out. After over an hour of waiting (which is plenty of time to find out if the contacts are there or not) , I decided to call back and they just answer the phone with can we call you back? Terrible. Update: Took a half day at work to come to the location only to find out they have the contacts in and they attempted to reach a number that is different than the one I provided the previous day when they asked me to leave a number that I could be reached at. Let me start by saying I've been to this location several times over the past 10 years and always had satisfactory visits with good results. My most recent visit a few months ago was a disaster however and has resulted in me absolutely wasting $1,000 on uncomfortable and unusable eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions that I got. It started with my first appointment and getting a test pair of contacts and being told to come back in a week to finalize. Well the first doctor I saw had left, they actually told me over the phone when I called to make an appointment that the doctor is on PTO and I would have to wait until they were available. Well I end up calling back every week for a month and the doctor was no longer on staff they informed me. So I had already stopped wearing the contact lenses as they were past the 30 days of use. And not to mention they didn't provide good vision. My previous prescription I was using up until a month before my first visit was perfect and I had used it for the past 4 years. Perfect up close and distance vision before this disaster of visits ensued. They finally schedule me in to see another doctor and I arrive and inform them that my previous prescription was many times better and the adjustments don't work for me. They had no notes in my file from the pervious visit. So they start from scratch again, and give me another pair of lenses to try. They also were uncomfortable and didn't offer me distance vision as I couldn't read freeway signs anymore until I was already to close to catch an exit. Also, the upclose vision was even worse as I could no longer read my phone screen at even arms length or when it was on my car dash mount. So, a useless strength adjustment. My next visit resulted in another useless strength adjustment and now the doctor, a 3rd one, is trying to sell me on the idea that my eyes have changed due to age and I possibly need progressive lenses and different contact types in each eye......completely disregarding that I've now told them as I told each previous doctor that my current prescription was perfect. So now I'm being insulted and the information I'm giving them is being ignored. We end up finalizing my prescription after another adjustment and only 10 minutes to wear them and approve against my wishes and under their pressure of urgency to be done with me. At first the new adjustment seemed reasonable until an hour into wearing them instsrt having a bad headache and still can't see my phone clearly. The distance vision improved slightly but as I told the doctor repeatedly, the sharpness resulted in everything shrinking. After 30 years of wearing corrective lenses every other doctor in the past has told me during exams to let them know if the increase of sharpness resulted in shirnking because that's bad and not what we want. I end up calling to complain and they make another adjustment to my prescription without me going in person and email it to me. So I spend almost $1,000 on contact lenses and eyeglass lenses(not including frame cost of course) and i can't sit at my computer with either prescription, I can't see my phone without holding it at arms length and squinting hard, can barely see freeway signs and can't read them until I'm 200 feet away. Went to a baseball game and couldn't even see the numbers on the jerseys while sitting in loge at 3rd base. So add the cost of my prescriptions to the cost of the visit and I'm out $1200 and have nothing to show for it. Lenscrafters is like a McDonald's, in and out fast service focused on being profitable for the day, now on customer satisfaction or doing a proper job. I've never gotten this bad of service at any private practice. I recommend anyone thinking of using a lens crafter to spend time and find a private practice, even if your a cash patient don't worry they cost the same so why choose the cheaper quality service provider if it affects your finances just the same? read more

I got my son glassea here and they had told me turn around time would be 2 weeks ans then actually took 2 weeks. They didn't call as courtesy to let me know if delay, I had to keep following up with them. Then I got a protection plan for my sons glasses which I had to use, becuase they broke. And when I called to see it I needed a appointment they said no. I've been here more 30 mins and still waiting. The employees here look miserable, not helpful and careless about your time. Avoid this place unless your desperate. First consult alone took more than 2 hours to evaluate my son for his glasses, ridiculous and that's didn't include the time it took to sit with them after and see which plan or custom work he'd want for this glasses. read more

Usually going to a Doctor's office can be nerve racking but the "Montebello LensCrafters" blows my mind! The experience here is just TOP NOTCH!!! When I arrived for my appointment to get my eyes check I was greeted by friendly staff at the counter and acknowledge that they will be right with me. They were super busy from everyone trying to get their glasses before the end of the year. First I was assisted by "Dorothy (Dora)" and she is a sweetheart! She explained the process and what will be taking place during my visit. She made me feel at ease and which takes the nerve out of seeing a doctor for the first time. Next was seeing "Dr. Kim", she is so patient and Thorough with explaining how my vision of my eyes are now. The last eye doctor I went to didn't explain what's going on as detailed as Dr. Kim did. The last part after i choose my frame "Teresa" was so helpful with going over the details and the breakdown of the invoice. She suggested what is recommended and did not feel pressure to get anything extra that I didn't need. The experience here is truly outstanding! The doctors and staff here are amazing! I'm a busy working professional, so it helps that they are open 7 days a week. They use high-tech equipment here, so I feel like I'm getting the best prescription every time I come here. I also get my contact lens fittings here - they have a large variety of contacts and the newest. My old optometrist had been fitting me with an older, generic brand of contacts (which dried out my eyes quickly), but my new optometrist here fit me with a newer, much more comfortable contacts. I usually go to the lenscrafters in Downey but I wanted to go to montebello mall & im glad!! 1.Excellent service!!! Unfortunately I forgot to get her name:/. . . 2. They only took an hour to give me the glasses back! (It takes 2hrs in Downey). I needed to update the lenses on my glasses with my new prescription. I kept the same frame so I got 25% off. Regular price for the anti-glare lenses are $330 but with the discount it came out to $245. I will definitely go back to change the prescription on my sun glasses. That will cost me $135 with the discount as well because I will use the same coach frame. read more

This is the worst place to get glasses don't come here. The store manager is completely unhelpful and doesn't have any customer service skills what so ever. So back in October i bought my glasses here I spent $445 with insurance bought blue IQ lenses, scratch resistance and blah blah. Point being these lenses are the most scratched lenses I've ever owned and I don't mistreat my glasses. So when I told the manager she said they aren't scratch resistant so I'm like ok why do up charge and suggest things if that's not what it does. I expressed how unhappy i was with these glasses and she said do you wash them or clean them I'm like yes. I've had scratch resistant lenses before and guess what they were. So then she said well you don't have the protection plan so we can't do anything. She also said maybe your cloth scratched them wtf yeah ok. I'll never come here ever now I rather go spend another $500 somewhere anywhere else for just lenses since I used my insurance here already 4 months ago. LensCrafters sucks!!!!!
