I have a high prescription, so I paid over $100 extra to upgrade to 1.74 high-index lenses -- even after using my insurance, the total was still over $200. Yet the lenses are ridiculously thick and heavy, nothing like what I expected for 1.74. It is even thicker than my old one without any upgrade. I feel like I've been sold an "upgrade" that made no real difference. The doctor and staff were nice, but that doesn't change the fact that this product is garbage for the price I paid. I should take my money somewhere else -- this place will leave you with regret, not better vision.

He does a very thorough exam every time and makes sure everything looks good with your eyes. I also appreciate that he's helped me out with extra contact packs when I've been running low. They take most insurance. I've been using VSP here with no issues. Pricing on contacts is also pretty comparable to other places, which is another reason I keep coming back. Dr. Lee took his time assessing the concerns and issues I had. It was very easy to talk to Dr.Lee . He was patient, I did not feel rushed at all. Compare to all the visits I have had with other locations, all the doctors would rush and I would be done being seen by a doctor within 10 mins while the wait with appointments would take 30 minutes. I highly recommend coming here, time is money. The full appointment took 50 minutes with less than 1 minute wait to be pre-test screening and assessed by a doctor.

That's late. I was told before my exam that my frame size could be accommodated. It could not. No amount of "above and beyond" was needed or would have changed the bad information from the beginning. The shop can't accommodate wide frames. The business owner did offer a free pair of frames (that would not fit), by way of apology. I do not want free things, but thanks for the sentiment. Original post: Dr. Luo was 15 minutes late to her 1st appointment of the day with no apology or even mention. While waiting for my exam, I told the front desk that I needed large frames and asked which brands to look at. I was told that two brands in stock would accommodate me, and that they could order anything else. After the exam, it turns out they do not have a pair of frames that will fit me. They did encourage me many times to get a smaller pair with the hope that the springs would stretch enough. Would still be too small. Since that was certainly not going to be a viable option, I asked for copies of the written prescriptions for reading, computer, and distance, to be filled elsewhere, only to be told that I already had them, and that I misunderstood when Dr. Luo told me she would save distance scripts to their system and that they had printed them out in tandem to save paper. I was there for a follow-up appointment for contact lens fitting as well as for the new Dry Eye treatment using Low-Level Light Therapy. Felt like I was getting a facial spa treatment. I've noticed so far that my eyes are not as dry or scratchy feeling when wearing contacts. Additionally, she checked in with me regarding my new contact lens and also offered me another sample of contacts to try for a month so I can determine which new contact lens I can purchase. I highly recommend anyone struggling with dry eyes, astigmatism and in need of contacts to meet with Dr. Kelly Lee.

If you're looking for a new optometrist I would definitely recommend Dr. Su, she's amazing. I last went in for an updated eye exam as I was getting headaches from my old prescription. We did the usually eye tests but Dr. Su took the time to explain the results afterwards. It was very insightful to understand how my prescriptions were calculated and cool see my eye balls magnified. Ultimately Dr Su helped me pick out the right prescription for my astigmatism and my headaches disappeared thereafter. Her team also helped explain my insurance plan and pick what was in my budget. It's a breath of fresh air to have such a personalized experience.

The receptionist took into consideration my father's age and made sure he would be given extra time. As he was doing the tests, the technician was very patient and caring. It took awhile for my dad to understand what he needed to do and a few times the tests had to be redone. At one point they even had to call the doctor to come assist. Through it all, they were extremely understanding and patient. This was exactly the type of office that I was looking to take my elderly dad to. DEFRAUDING a 19-year-old…read more My son walked into LA Optometry in Montebello yesterday, asked what the costs would be for a contact lens exam and fitting. He was told for $75.00 he would receive a contact exam, fitting, and training. He had just taken an eye exam two months ago, so he brought his eye prescription with him. After taking the test and getting fitted for the contacts, he was charged $145.00. When asked why it had doubled, their answer to him was "we had to give you two eye exams". So basically they're committing FRAUD, telling customers one price and charging you another after the fact. Their staff should have made it very clear to my son, that he would get charged for two eye exams from the start. That they would need to retest his eyes and test a second time for contacts separately. That was never explained to him. If we had known from the start, he could have simply returned to his original Optometrist and not have gotten scammed by adults who know better. So much for helping local businesses. We'll NEVER return, and we'd strongly recommend to anyone thinking of using their business to have the price written down before you get charged double.
