I wasnt able to locate on yelp or google but its located 2nd floor right next to Macy's . I came on a saturday for a 6:15 pm appointment on February 21st and booked with Dr.Catherine. I was seen by Dr. Steven Lee instead. The visit was great.. Absolutely didn't have to wait a long time. It's been awhile since I last checked out my eyes. Dr. Lee took his time assessing the concerns and issues I had. It was very easy to talk to Dr.Lee . He was patient, I did not feel rushed at all. Compare to all the visits I have had with other locations, all the doctors would rush and I would be done being seen by a doctor within 10 mins while the wait with appointments would take 30 minutes. I highly recommend coming here, time is money. The full appointment took 50 minutes with less than 1 minute wait to be pre-test screening and assessed by a doctor. read more

I loved my experience with Dr. Catherine Luo. She was kind and very thorough. Took her time to answer all my questions. A few days later I brought my 5 y/o daughter in for an exam and my daughter was anxious, scared and uncooperative. Dr. Luo and her staff were extremely patient with her and did everything they could to make her comfortable. I appreciate their empathy and compassion. Service is great and friendly. The appointments are convenient due to their flexible schedule. I was able to come in on a Sunday to pickup my glasses. Due to the new technology, I am able to read better with my anti-fatigue lenses that Dr. Castillo recommended for me. She is knowledgeable and conducted a through eye exam. Also, I got my dilation to determine if there are any eye issues. The last optometrist that I had wouldn't conduct the dilation; the optometrist said only if you need one. My wife has been going here for years. & I started within the last few months bc no one carried Spys sunglasses; we mainly I need the frames bc the lenses are custom. Mine have a reading script, polarized & transitional lenses on a high impact carbon material Basically it's scratch & break proof. After ordering them, I needed them reordered bc transition part was left out; @ 2 from original order, I was off & running! Unfortunately, after noticing it, my right lens are delaminating; so I came in & the kind attendant took my info & let me keep my glasses; she reordered me a full set of replacement lenses under I time warranty. Well let's see how long it takes & what are the final result is?... All their staff are very courteous & customer service friendly. If you are in the market for good quality & custom app lenses they're a great place. Insurance vary you should inquire; mine didn't cover anything ?! Overall, it's a great place but not necessarily cheap, but keep in mind it's your eyes & can you really put a price on your vision. After all it's 1 of your primary major senses. Overall, they offer good wraparound optical services from consultation to a full eye exam. The doctor is very kind, understanding & very hip. It works to your advantage! Dr. Castillo is always friendly and one of the best optometrist I have ever seen. She's always friendly and smiling that it makes you feel welcomed. I just came back here today for my yearly checkup and she's still the same. Caring and always giving advice on how to take care of your eyes. I'm glad my eyes are improving and it's such a great feeling to know I have such a great optometrist to help me with that. One thing that I do appreciate now is that they don't have that machine that puffs air into your eyes anymore. Now they use a more high tech one that isn't as painful and traumatizing. I've always hated that machine so the new one is a win win for me. Overall, I like Dr. Castillo and I'm going to keep her as my optometrist for a long time. I also have been recommending people to come here as well because I like doctors that are knowledgeable and can explain to their patients what is going on and how to fix a problem. Korey checked my eyes, and he was great. He gave me a lot of information about how vision and contacts work that previous optometrists did not give me. Also I have very bad vision and was surprised that they carried the right contact lens for me to try on the same day (as opposed to them having to order and make me come back a 2nd visit just to test them). But the reason for the low score is the poor customer service of the front staff. After I wore the sample contact lens they gave me for a few days I called them to let them know it was good and I wanted to order it. They said it would take 1 to 1 and a half weeks to arrive, and no need for me to call that they would call me when it came in. Well after not hearing anything for 2 weeks I gave them a call to follow up. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and told they didn't have it, not only that gave me a tough time saying I called early, that it was "barely over a week" (not true) and that they would definitely call me when it comes in. ANOTHER 2 weeks past and still no call. So I call them, get put on hold for about 5 minutes, and then they tell me it just happen to come in that day. Uh huh sure they did. read more

I have been a clients here for myself and children for over 15 yrs. I initially stayed because we loved the twin Dr's Dennis and Dixon. The service here has been otherwise mediocre and the staff not the nicest. Today, I took my children to pickup their second pair. I assumed it would be easy enough to ask for my contact prescription, since I realized they never gave it to me. I was told I never called back a week later to tell them how it was working out for me and Dr isn't comfortable handing my prescription over. Contacts fitted well and, if you were that concerned maybe call your patient to follow up. I don't remember them having a sign stating they don't give your contact prescription after paying for your exam otherwise I would have gone somewhere else. I understand if it's a new patient and your concerned but I literally get an my eyes checked every year and get glasses twice a year. I only wear contacts on special occasions. I guess I will be making the drive to Rialto to see Dr Dixon and Dennis going forward. What happened to following federal regulations? Under Federal regulations, optometrists and ophthalmologists must give each patient a copy of his or her prescription immediately after an eye exam or the completion of a contact lens fitting process. read more

Dr. Fukui is great and this is why I have being going there for the past few years. But, the turn around time to get my glasses is ridiculous. It's going on almost 3 weeks, just for a pair of reading glasses. I called yesterday and was now told they are waiting for the lenses since they need to be cut at their office. I was not previously told this. Also, whomever answers the phones always seems annoyed that I'm asking if my glasses are in; both times I called different people with same attitude. I'm glad I only ordered readers, I'll bring my prescription to LensCrafters for my primary glasses, I should have gone there instead. But, for eye exam I will always go to Dr. Fukui. read more

After reading the response from this owner, I have lowered my review of this establishment. My other reviews on Yelp have nothing to do with my review on this store. With that being said, I have been attending this drs office for years now, and have watched it changed for the negative. Now, for my complaints, -Never had an appointment that has started on time. Always at least 15 mins late. -Not enough help at the front desk either. -Not the most polite front staff. -Front staff always changing now. -Eye drs are now constantly changing as well. -This establishment seems more focused on the supply of expensive frames and designer glasses rather than having in stock normal lenses. With that being said, I literally took my two prescriptions and went to Lens Crafters, where they were 100% better. read more

This is a walk-in, no appointment made in advance, and new patient review. I had spent a lot of time researching all the optometry offices that were open 7 days a week, that accepted VSP Choice as the vision insurance, were within a 20 mile radius from East Los Angeles, and that 'supposedly' had the latest eye care technology on-site. Of all the researched offices, this one and Donald Teagle Corp (Teagle Optometry) in the Glendale Galleria seemed to have fit what I was looking for. The boutique is inside the Montebello Town Center Mall, on the 2nd floor, and roughly above the H&M store. A taller gentleman walked in ahead of me with no mask on and the front desk provided one to the gentleman. There were hand sanitizers on-site and I think 3 female opticians manning the front desk. I tell them that I'm a walk-in with no prior appointment and am a new patient. One of the female opticians handed me a clipboard with a page to fill out my information plus a small half page asking whether I agree to give up my rights to sue them--you know, the typical legal agreement that all businesses make you sign--plus whether I wanted to opt for a retinal screening for $29, which I did. Maybe 5 minutes had passed from turning in my paperwork and I got pulled in to do the retinal screening. That took maybe 15 minutes. 1st machine, you put your head on the chin bar with one eye covered. You look for the center square with the tested eye and then are asked to look for the squiggly lines that appear in your peripheral vision and to press the remote control button whenever that's seen. You do that twice for each eye. Then, the 2nd machine, the optician will scan each eye ball twice using this giant binocular-looking single lens bazooka. Then the 3rd machine, you press each eye ball against this hole where you'll see a bullseye 'crosshair' inside. It's a blue bullseye that needs to turn green. If it's red, you're outside the scannable area and you have to re-position yourself & your eyeball just right until it turns green and the optician will guide you on how to do that. Be prepared for an earth shattering, blinding white light come flying over at your eyeball, for each eyeball. We did that for 5-6 times for each eye because apparently, the machine didn't quite capture a clear enough image of my eyeballs. It's a jarring experience but thankfully is painless, at least for me. Still, it is very disorienting and I was literally blind-ish for a little bit even after being escorted out to sit until the eye doctor was ready to take me in. Once in, Dr Fukui asked a bunch of health questions and then proceeded to do the distance reading test where you cover one eye and attempt to read the letters on the screen. Then you cover the other eye and repeat. Then, he'll play a little game with you where the text was purposefully made blurry and he wants you to guess what the letters read for each eye, and then again with both eyes. You're allowed to shift around to 'adjust' your eyesight and attempt to read. Not sure if that's normal because none of my previous visits at the other optometrists allowed this or even had this as part of the eye exam, so that's new. Then again, all those fancy machines that was used previously before meeting with said optometrist were also new...so yea. Ah, the wonders of eye care technology. They've come so far from just a few years ago (or maybe I've just been going to those ghetto one's because that's just the sort of nigga I am.) After the distance reading test, he gave me his grave prognosis afterwards. I say grave even though he didn't outright tell me that my eyes are pretty screwed beyond repair. Instead, he wrote me a letter of referral and gave me a list of recommended specialists--like that's ever any good news. I checked them all out on the internet: UCLA Doheny Institute, USC Roski Institute, Retina Vitreoles Medical Group, and Retina Macula Institute. The estimated bill for UCLA and USC just for one of these supposed routine tests will easily cost me $1K at a minimum, including facility, hospital, and doctor visit fees--just for one visit. Holy cow. I'd imagine the other two would be in the same ballpark price range. C'mon, doc! Do I look like I'm made of money?!? I was wearing a Super Mario t-shirt and sweat pants for crying out loud! Clearly, I'm not made of money. Just saying. All in all, that's the only thing I'm dinging this place on: his referrals. Otherwise, excellent experience of this place all around and will definitely consider coming back again for next year's annual exam but perhaps on that next visit, I'll do the eyedrop dilation procedure rather than skipping it. Oh yea, hi-index lens, UV coating, Anti-reflective glare coating plus a pair of cheapy $99 metal frames, all in with the tests, was about $217 total on my VSP Choice plan. read more

Do not go here! Unless you want to overpay. I lost my frames and I came in without shopping around. I ended up buying some Dolce&Gabbana frames. The price was $380+tax. I later saw the same frame at LensCrafters for $280+tax. Lens Crafters will make most eye prescriptions in 1hr. This place will have your frames in 2 weeks. Save your money and time. I hate to do bad reviews, but I also hate overpaying especially during these difficult times. read more

I bought a pair of glasses yesterday. Oakley glasses to be exact. The glasses were $389.00 which I thought maybe that's the price they go for since it was a really nice pair. I get home and to my surprise the top of the frame makes a clicking sound that for some I missed. I took them back today and I had to use my warranty already after one day. Also I went to sunglasses hut and they had the same pair for $235.00 I went back so I can return the glasses and get my money back which they said it was final sale and it was on the receipt. I went ahead and took my receipt out and showed them that it only said final sale on specialized and custom eyewear. It doesn't mention anything about sunglasses. They gave me an excuse that the no return says it in another place. To top it off I will get the pair in 2 weeks. Which sunglasses hut would have them in 5 days learned my lesson won't be going back after I get the replacement. read more

I did a scleral lens fitting today and the doctors here are extremely nice and friendly. They are very patient and work with you until you are completely satisfied with your experience. She was very informative and professional. She just gave me all the facts and what I needed to keep an eye on until my next visit.
