My husband went in for his eye exam and to potentially get new lenses depending on the prescription. Exam went well and quick, however she kept trying to get him to do "other" tests out of pocket. When looking into lens options, again, trying to upsell him on extra options. I don't recommend coming here unless you want to feel like you're at a used car dealership. Dr Hong is excellent. She checks on oil glands in your eye lids unlike most optometrists during your exam. There were plenty of glasses to pick from. Plenty of parking. I'm going back but to their other location in Alhambra as it's closer to me. They accept VSP ppo, and Eye Med insurance. Inquire within for others as I'm unsure. read more

I came in today for an eye exam and complaints of dry eye. The eye doctor here is very friendly and knowledgeable of dry symptoms and she also took the time to explain to me every detail of my prescription and whatever problems that could be a problem in the future due to my life style. And she also made adjustment to some of my concerns for my prescriptions. Dr. Hong explained throughly what oil glands are and how important it is to take care of them. She provided me with an option of taking an eye exam that was $45.00 to check my oil glands or not to do it. The exam wasn't cover by the insurance, however it's an option that is give to check how our oil glands are specifically if one has dry eyes. I really liked the service that was being provided by the staff and doctors. Everything was explained and they also take their time training you, if you're new to eye contacts!! I really appreciated their patience, help, and professionalism that was being provided to me when I went to get eye contacts!! Definitely recommend it to others, however it can be pricy, depending on the services that are not covered by your own insurance. read more

even though I feel the optometrist was good I feel that she was there to sell me products that I didnt need. she seemed like she genuinely cared in the beginning and she did a good job matching my prescription but then she made me purchase things I didn't need and I ended up spending about $250 more than I should've. What particularly bothers me is that she told me that I needed eye wash and pushed it on me as well as Eye pads. The eye wash contains sodium chloride (it is not good for eyes) ! she told me that I should take these photos of my eyes one of them was 45 and one was 35 (the insurance didn't cover it so it would be out of pocket) and then the eyewash and eye pads came out to another hundred uncovered by my insurance. I would suggest not pushing products on people that may not be in their best interest in the long run. Those chemicals are not good that you marketed, I felt cheated because of the add ons and you should know that these chemicals are not beneficial to people. I have not used the stuff that I purchased it was a waste of money and I don't like that I was pressured to buy it! I would also like to add that I did not buy the drops that she recommended that somebody in the comment says are 300 dollars. it's just not a good feeling when you leave feeling ripped off and that's exactly how I felt afterward. At least my prescription was right‍ but I would also like to know that the candies eye glasses that I purchased were more expensive from them then on the website. these kind of things do not make you feel good when leaving or finding out afterwards and for that I had to leave this review I hope you guys can change and not Forest products on people.... especially when the chemicals in there are not good for them! read more

NEVER COME HERE First of all I made an appt to get a new prescription lense for glasses without my permission they did a lense fit and never asked me, then they wanna make you sign paper when the girl at the front doesn't even explain she's extremely rude has an attitude for god knows what. Then they wanna charge you and make up pay for a bunch of unecessary things like a change from when you go from light to dark and some drops tht cost like $300?.I just asked for simple that it. Now this is the important part: they didnt even give me the right contact they gave me something completely off and that all they had the first day I try to put my new contacts it cuts my eye never in my time of wearing contact has that happen but I put the contacts that the lady give me at the from it cuts my eye I'm in pain for three weeks I can't see and almost lost my vision bc of them. I was referred to this location by a friend. And I am so glad that I visited this location! I came in for my annual checkup, as well as questions about LASIK surgery. The Dr. that saw me was Dr. Hong and she was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable not only about the standard checkup that they do, but also about the LASIK process. She not only gave me all the information that I required, but referred me to the best LASIK surgeon in the area in Dr. Berg, but that's another review for another time. She gave me what I needed to finally go ahead and move forward with LASIK, and now I'm walking around with 20/20 vision and I couldn't be happier! I'm currently going through my post-op visits with Dr. Hong, and each visit is quick and easy. A friend of mine recommended this place, so I decided to give it a try. First impressions: nice, clean place, and great selections. One star. There were some customers ahead of me, but I was still acknowledged. I think we all know that this should be common business practice, and yet, so many places don't bother. So far so good. Another star. The optometrist that saw me was Dr. Hong. She was super friendly and oh-so-patient. Anyone that knows me knows that if I have questions, I will not be shy about asking them. And trust me, with my prescription, I had a lot of questions. Dr. Hong very nicely addressed my concerns and made sure that I understood everything. And since I finally decided to get into the 21st century and try out contacts, she also made sure that I knew what I was doing. More stars. When it came time to pick out my new frames, I got a pair that was similar to my old ones. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit. One of the staff suggested that I try some different frames. She picked out a few for me to try and said that those complimented the shape of my face. I was skeptical, but I tried them on. What do you know? Insert happy emoji here. Not bad at all! Ok ok. Everything went well till the end, i had informed them Medical Was the form of payment, they said it only covers exam. And since you have your own frames the lens will be 700.00 and because i could give a discount, it would be 550.00, come on for lens only, no frame, i think not. She will not even make eye contact , I came in with my elderly parent to assist him with his insurance and to ensure he was being assisted appropriately. She said she would only be talking to him . Well helllllo if he didn't need assistance he would have came alone . They need to be more considerate of every clients needs. 1 star for the helpful girls that work there but as far as eyeglasses selection and price I would give 0 stars. I found a pair of Dolce and Gabbana glasses that I really liked and they were $360, plus my prescription, everything totaled about $670 (doesn't include tax) that was way outta my budget. But what really made me walk away from this place was that they don't give you warranty. REALLY??? I'm about to spend $700 for some glasses and I don't get warranty? Wow. Thank god I left and took my money elsewhere because guess what I paid $390 (including warranty.. Yay!) for the same glasses including my prescription. I have been coming to this optometrist since I was a child so I have been able to see the way this place has changed over time. Honestly the Doctor is really great. She is knowledgeable friendly and very thorough. Customer service has always been a hit or miss. You usually have to get lucky to get someone who has better interpersonal skills and will treat you well. In regards to price it is extremely overpriced for what you are getting. In the beginning I didnt complain because I thought they were charging what other places were charging but as I got older I learned I was very mistaken. When they talk about their pricing they will first give you the most expensive option with a lot of doctor recommendations. Once you argue with them for a while they will give you a price for the very basic plan. The last time I went they tried to convince me to pay 500 for my glasses without the frame (the frames they have are very ugly by the way) and my cheapest option was 250. I chose to look at other places this time around and my primary care doctor recommended a site called goggles4u where he said he and his coworkers would get their glasses. I payed 50 dollars for cute frames and my lenses with a lot of added stuff like glare and scratch resistence. So I think my days coming here are over. There is also a new optometrist across the street that gets the job done and is a much more friendly place. read more

I came here recently and loved the Dr. I seen! I wish I remembered her name but they always have different doctors coming in. She was so friendly and just easy to connect with. She answered every question I had. What I will never forget about my experience here is one of the receptionists up front. She's rude and makes you not want to go back. Visiting your optometrist should never feel like this. I'm definitely changing locations and will not regret it. Since it's a private practice they raise up glasses/contact prices to make their money! If you're looking into contacts please make sure your trial for contacts is with a brand that is common and you can purchase elsewhere for cheaper. If you pick a brand that isn't popular you will have to purchase the contacts there for SO much more. I made this mistake and when I tried looking for the brand it was no where to be found. At the end I went back and having to pay more than I should have. Prices are extreme here and I would not recommend. read more

I came back for a routine eye exam like I do every year. Before seeing the doctor, one of the staff explained to me about a new digital camera. I think it's really cool because it was a quick photo and I got to see the back of my own eye to make sure that it's healthy. Dr. Hong is very kind and she took her time to explain everything and made sure I was comfortable.
