I have a high prescription, so I paid over $100 extra to upgrade to 1.74 high-index lenses -- even after using my insurance, the total was still over $200. Yet the lenses are ridiculously thick and heavy, nothing like what I expected for 1.74. It is even thicker than my old one without any upgrade. I feel like I've been sold an "upgrade" that made no real difference. The doctor and staff were nice, but that doesn't change the fact that this product is garbage for the price I paid. I should take my money somewhere else -- this place will leave you with regret, not better vision.

Compare to all the visits I have had with other locations, all the doctors would rush and I would be done being seen by a doctor within 10 mins while the wait with appointments would take 30 minutes. I highly recommend coming here, time is money. The full appointment took 50 minutes with less than 1 minute wait to be pre-test screening and assessed by a doctor.

The receptionist took into consideration my father's age and made sure he would be given extra time. As he was doing the tests, the technician was very patient and caring. It took awhile for my dad to understand what he needed to do and a few times the tests had to be redone. At one point they even had to call the doctor to come assist. DEFRAUDING a 19-year-old…read more My son walked into LA Optometry in Montebello yesterday, asked what the costs would be for a contact lens exam and fitting. He was told for $75.00 he would receive a contact exam, fitting, and training. He had just taken an eye exam two months ago, so he brought his eye prescription with him. After taking the test and getting fitted for the contacts, he was charged $145.00. When asked why it had doubled, their answer to him was "we had to give you two eye exams". So basically they're committing FRAUD, telling customers one price and charging you another after the fact. Their staff should have made it very clear to my son, that he would get charged for two eye exams from the start. That they would need to retest his eyes and test a second time for contacts separately. That was never explained to him. If we had known from the start, he could have simply returned to his original Optometrist and not have gotten scammed by adults who know better. So much for helping local businesses. We'll NEVER return, and we'd strongly recommend to anyone thinking of using their business to have the price written down before you get charged double.
