I came in for my annual check up at Valley Mall Optometry because I wanted to try Ortho K contact lenses, which is basically sleeping in custom contacts to stabilize my vision. Setting up my appointment was a breeze. When I came in I was greeted by the friendly staff and was seen right away by the doctor. The general exam was very thorough as Dr. Hong walked me through my eye health and what to expect during my Ortho K process which was new to me. She did a great job fitting me and now I see 20/20 WITHOUT having to wear glasses or contacts during the day! This has been an absolute game changer for me! Dr. Hong was so patient and was understanding with all my questions and made it such a seamless process for me. Honestly the staff is so bad and rude, i don't really write reviews but they did not make my experience nice. don't go here. the Eye doctor is super sweet the front staff is the complete opposite. they need to get fired and get new staff . Wow. This is the best optometry practice I've ever been to. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, thorough explanations of all procedures and imaging and timely in their appointments. From the front desk, assistants, and optometrists, I found Valley Mall Optometry to be helpful and professional.I go here every year and they always answer all my questions. I was able to renew my prescription and have a lasik consultation. There is parking in the front on Main Street and there is a large parking lot in the back as well. This is the only Optometrist I will be going to. They have very up to date equipment to scan for eye health too, highly recommended! read more

I came in And ordered a pair of glasses in July. I was advised by one of the lady's that works there that if I needed my glasses sooner I should avoid going through my insurance and pay the Glasses out of pocket. So I listened and we are now in September and still no glasses! I have called numerous times and every time I call and ask for my glasses they tell me they will call me back and they never do. I've asked to speak to a manager and they hang up on me and never call me back. This has happened numerous times. I'm desperate because I need my glasses. Please avoid this place. To be honest my husband went there to get contact lenses he did his exam and the girls in the front told him they will call him a year passed by and nothing still I called 10 times to get an urgent appointment he couldn't see from one of his eye and I left a message and never got a call back.. the girls in the front are the worse I don't know why work in a place and have such a shitty attitude and act like they don't care .. at the end of the day they are quick to charge services but not have professional manners in person or by phone..the doctor was very professional and very nice he loved the doctor but not the staff read more

i am very disappointed with my experience here. i took my father to this location in march to get his exam done there was no patients ahead of us there and the process was almost 3 hours. we waited a long time just to be seen even though there wasn't other patients ahead of us. that should have been our first red flag and i paid out pocket for the frames my father choose. they told me the estimated wait time was 6-12 weeks. 13 weeks have passed and i had called and spoke with maria and she told me they'd be ready last week and that they would call me. today Tuesday june18 i received a call that my fathers glasses were ready. i went to pick them up and as i was walking out i noticed the frames were not the ones i paid for i made the clerk aware and she tried to say those are the ones we ordered. i showed her picture proof that those were not and she made me aware she was going to send them back to the insurance. my father cant wait any longer since he is older and depends on his glasses. i got home and started a report/complaint with my fathers insurance. read more

I have been coming here for my annuals checkups for the last few years and have nothing but high praise for Dr. Hong and her staff at this location. The office was very clean and well decorated. There's plenty of parking in the back. The staff was very warm and attentive, welcoming me and getting me started right away. The wait time was minimal, as much as you'd expect at other locations. Dr. Hong is very professional and knowledgeable, explaining in detail everything that needs to be explained. My insurance was no issue and the payment went through without a hitch. Went to pick up script and contacts with my wife, had an appointment and they took someone else in first. What's the point of appointment when you take someone in before a customer who already made an appointment and arrive on time for the appointment. It took about 45minutes to be seen with an appointment! Most of the stuff could have been done while we waited for the optometrist, but I see two staffs doing a lot of walking around or sitting down. We were also charged for the initial appointment of contacts and glasses exam even though my wife has great insurance. We were never charged before with same insurance. So not sure what's going on there. Anyways, I wouldn't recommend this place and would not take any family member here again. We read the review on here initially and thought we try it, but I guess not all reviews are so true. read more

I originally booked an appointment at Mylinh Lam Optometry but after reading the reviews on yelp I was discouraged. I found Valley Mall Optometry on yelp and they had great feedback and as a bonus they took my insurance! Feeling hopeful, I called to book my apt. Not only was the receptionist helpful in booking my apt, she looked up my insurance and gave me an idea of what I would be spending, realistic expectations of how long it would take the lab to deliver my prescription. Arriving early to my appointment the receptionist Cindy wasted no time checking me in and helping me find some awesome frame options in their wide selection. I was escorted back and the exam was thorough. Dr. Shah was very nice and sweet. All of my concerns and questions were answered. After the apt, Alejandra and Maria were very patient and helpful while choosing from the frames I had picked out earlier. Ended up with a nice pair of glasses. I've never been to an optometrists office were I literally want to cry. I HATE the staff there. Dr. Alvarez is great but the ladies they have at the front desk are so rude. They never ask you if you need help and you have to interrupt their gossip in order to communicate. I am waiting on my glasses and then I am never coming back again. I've been meaning to talk to Dr. Alvarez about them but the ladies always tell me he's gone. I've never written a negative review on Yelp but this place deserves it. I was running low on contacts. Needed to find a new doctor because I did not like the last place I went to. Was shopping at a store nearby and found this place. Did not have an appointment, but they were able to squeeze me in for an exam. I saw Dr Hong and she was very thorough with my eyes. She found that I had astigmatism and explained everything a lot better than my old optometrist did. She also switched me to a healthier daily disposable contact lens and explained how to prevent contact lens overwear. Another thing my old optometrist never did! I highly recommend Dr Hong! Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. They helped me find a cool pair of Rayban clubmasters which I have gotten a lot of compliments on. I called and come to this place because It is closer to my house. Before considering going to this place, please expect to wait at least 1- 2 hours to see a doctor. Although I came 15 mins early than my appointment time, I still have to wait for at least 1 hour to see a doctor. I thought that it would be faster when I only have to pick up my contact lenses but the waiting time remain the same. I have other obligations and should be warned about the time. In addition, they told me that it would take a week for my contact lenses to come and they will call me. Since I didn't hear anything from them after a week, I gave them a call and I got yelled by the front desk for not following up with them. When I told them that I didn't receive any voicemail or messages, they didn't trust me. I have to ask them to confirm my phone number on their contact. It turned out that they type in the wrong number. Also they don't explain anything when it comes to what you have to pay. If you have PPO, you will end up paying for more. read more
