I get my prescription glasses updated yearly through my insurance. So decided to stop by and get them from the Eyepeople this year. A wonderful associate named Tiffany assisted in my selection. She was VERY patient as I probably had her open every case 5x! It's a tough choice selecting new frames. She was very helpful in providing her opinion of what works and what doesn't. Its a bit embarrassing actually because all the focus is on me and my face! haha, however there was no pressure from her and was willing to help at all times. Eye people carries a wide array of frames. TOP Designers to house brands. I told her my budget and what I wanted to pay and she directed me in the right direction. Check out was an easy process, all the options were clearly offered and Very glad we decided to visit The Eyepeople. They are friendly, helpful and have a GREAT selection of frames! I cannot believe the response I got to my review from the "business owner". He claims we were there multiple times insulting the staff. First off, the times we have gone to the store, he has not been there or he is somewhere in a back-office because we have never seen him there. The first time we attempted to pick up the glasses we were offered a follow up appointment and a remeasure since the 1st time the optician took the wrong measurements. This was a satisfactory resolution although we were told we would have to wait another week for the glasses. After two more weeks passed and not hearing anything about the glasses, we called the office and were told that the glasses would be ready that day. We went in two days later and the glasses were nowhere to be found. As we were waiting for quite some time, we noticed the employees taking stuff to the back. Quite some time later, the glasses miraculously appeared. Of course, the glasses were still not made right as the reading portion was made very narrow. Rather than offering to adjust the glasses to see if they would fit better (as they did the 1st time around), the employee just stood there not knowing what to say or do. We asked to speak to a manager but were told that there was no manager on duty. This greatly upset us and yes my wife did raise her voice as we could not believe that there was no manager on duty or on call. We did demand to see the doctor because we know that Dr. Khem is the owner. We were told she was with a patient so we said we would wait until she was done with her patient to speak with her. The employee said that she could put us in as a walk-in but that we would have to wait another hour or so to be seen. WE DID NOT WANT A CONSULTATION! WE WANTED TO SPEAK TO HER TO FILE A COMPLAINT SINCE THERE WAS NO MANAGER ON DUTY! So yes we walked away. Three days later we got a call from a gentlemen apologizing for the situation but when we asked how we could resolve the matter, he indicated he did not know. That he was just asked to call to apologize. Really, you are going to have someone call and not have any resolution to offer? We asked to speak to Carolina whom we were told was busy at the moment but that she would be reaching out to us soon. So yes, Carolina did finally reach out to us. She told us she was off Fridays-Sundays. We asked who could take care of us in her place. She said she had an alternate (who was not there the day we were in) but that he would not be able to get the matter resolved. When we told Carolina that we would be filing a lawsuit unless the matter was resolved promptly, she offered to see us on a Friday, even though she was off. As agreed, Carolina saw us on Friday and did her best to get the matter resolved in a highly professional manner. We greatly appreciate Carolina's efforts and professionalism. She seems to be the only capable employee on the optical side as the remaining employees are not professional at all, cannot take proper eye measurements, and do not offer solutions to the customers. The "business owner" as you can ready by his responses is not very professional at all. He takes positive feedback well, but cannot seem to take negative criticism. Rather than apologizing, owning up to the company's mistakes, and offering solutions, he turns around and attacks the reviewer. We have been to the office 5 times in the past couple of months and we have yet to speak with him. From the five times, we admit that we did raise our voices 1 time but we did not insult the employee. We were extremely frustrated that up to that point we had been in the office 4 times and out over $500 out-of-pocket and the glasses were still not made correctly and that there was no one on site that we could speak to that could have offered a solution. So his argument that we yelled at his employees multiple times is false and based entirely on hearsay as he was not there. If he tries to claim he was, why did he not come out to talk to us? Or why did he not call us? Why would the employees say that there was no manager on duty? Furthermore, his employee clearly did not understand that if we asked to see the doctor, it was to file a complaint and not for a follow-up consultation as we only asked for the doctor after being told that there was no manager that could help us. How can an optical center that chooses to be open on weekends, not have a manager on site or at the very least on-call for any potential escalations? If there is no manager, then the employees need to be empowered to make decisions on the spot to take care of customers. However, with the exception of Carolina and the Doctors, this optical store has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! read more

I would love more than anything to understand and except your reasoning. Being, before my "actual" appointment one of the employees was ALWAYS calling me to "remind" me of my appointment. With that said, I'm sticking to my review and I'd I could get a refund I would, but obviously that's not the case and I stand firm that I would NOT recommend this optometrist to ANYONE and if I could, I would also RATE your service and poor excuse a ZERO. read more

Wow. Just wow. Where do I start... as someone who was diagnosed with Keratoconus for nearly a decade now, and trying on different lenses, seeing different doctors then after giving up because neither of the options they gave me worked. Then after a couple years I noticed my vision getting worse to where it was affecting my personal life, work life and social life, I knew I had to see a doctor. I went to Kaiser, which was a good experience but it's hard to get an appointment there and once I did, I was told my insurance wouldn't cover the cost of the lenses. ($700 each lenses plus the exam cost of $1000!!) So again I gave up. A couple months later, I saved up some money and just thought I'd pay out of pocket, so I scheduled an appointment with another doctor. After doing measurements on my eye, he recommended me RGP lenses (worst lenses you can get if you have keratoconus because they are extremely uncomfortable) and said they would only cost me $500 out of pocket because insurance would take too long to approve it. I really thought about it and let him know I'd get back to him. Another 2 months went by and I did a little research and came across EYE PEOPLE. The experience was just amazing. From the scenery, to the receptionist to the doctors!! Then the modern, up to date machines they use to get the exact topography for my eye to ensure they order the right SCLERAL lenses for my eyes. On my first visit, I was blown away. Dr. Jennifer Khem was my doctor and she's is flat out amazing. From the first day I met her, you can see she genuinely cares for her patients. She sits and talks to you to get to know you without being on the computer, making eye contact with you. Dr Jennifer was also able to tell me right away that my insurance would cover 100%. Last but not least, she said she would order me an additional pair for minor "tweaks and adjustments" so I can have a second pair. I'm saving over thousands of dollars!! Dr Jennifer is just great and very intelligent to say the least. I am currently sitting in my car in their parking lot with my new lenses and 20/20 vision typing my review, satisfied. I went from 20/60 to 20/40 with glasses and now 20/20. Heroes do exist lol thank you Dr. Jennifer and everyone there who made my experience wholesome!! read more

I took both my children here for an eye exam, and Dr. Khem was the most patient, sweet, and knowledgeable! She was awesome with my 4 year old and 6 year old! I highly recommend for kids! The staff was kind and helpful. I was helped by Tiffany to choose my glasses and they were upfront about cost and fees. I made appointments and they were prompt about time. We weren't waiting around and it wasn't rushed or over crowded in the store. Convenient inside the mall for a little shopping if you have to wait for your eyes to dilate. was out of town and really needed to get an exam real quick! Didn't have an appointment because it was very last minute, but I was seen pretty quickly! Girls in the front were nice & sweet. Very helpful. My Dr.Kleinman was also very informative in explaining what was going on, and basically told me to let it ride out for now. I might've been wearing my contacts for too long, that or my current contact lens fitting needed to be redone. The only complaint I would have is I was quoted starting at $69 for a basic eye exam, and if he had to do anything extra like take out a foreign object or anything then it would be more. It was a basic eye exam, I just couldn't use my insurance here, I asked him since it was a basic exam what's the price? (Broke college student problems) and he told me whatever I was quoted. I was charged $105 but a basic exam... so I'm just a little disappointed about that, I wish I spoke up about the charge. read more

I visited this office on Saturday for an eye exam. I couldn't have been more pleased with the service. I am not the easiest person to please The eye exam was really pleasant and I felt the Dr. explained to me everything. Not only that she made sure to see if I had any extra concerns or questions. Then came the most difficult part which is to pick the correct frame and man did they have so many awesome top brands to choose from Gucci, Versace, Burberry, Tom Ford, and so many more. Like i said I am a very picky person and couldn't decide what to choose. The girl that was helping me out was named Caroline. She never made me feel rushed not only that she kept on bringing more different styles to choose from. I definitely felt satisfied with what I chose. I took my son and myself for the first time to EPO. All staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on all their products. We showed up for our annual check up and Annie Nguyen helped us get our very much needed prescription. What I really liked the most is that she took her time with each of us to avoid giving us a stronger prescription than needed. I found myself seeing clearer without feeling like I had to get used to the new prescription. I found myself struggling with my new glasses when I've gone elsewhere but these fit like a glove. They also were not pushy when trying to sell you additional items for your lenses. I gave them 4/5 for their prices. They are quite pricey compared to LensCrafters but I liked their service and the fact that in an hour your glasses are ready so I completed my eye exam and purchase with them. Thanks guys! read more

UPDATE: The owner, Andrew contacted me directly to hear more about my experience. He was very compassionate and explained to me that it was a trainee who made the mistake listed below. I called to get a second opinion from the Dr. herself, Dr. angel. I saw her this past weekend and she was marvelous! I left happy and I am also happy to say I finally love my contact lenses! Thank you Andrew and Dr. Khem for caring about your patients and your business, it says a lot! The office staff has always been nice. I have been coming here for two years. Year 1 was for my eyeglass prescription renewal/exam and most recently for eye contact exam. And boy oh boy was it an experience! I hadn't tried contacts because I was terrified of putting anything in my eye. So after much thought I decided to go in and get it done. I expected a little more sympathy/understanding from the doc since it was my first time trying contacts on but I didn't really feel that. I had to go about 3-4 times to finally get the right fit...and even then I didn't! But that might just be my eyes. I forget the doctors name but she was a relatively young female. The first time I went for my fitting she was helping me put the contacts in bc I'm a rookie and didn't know how. She made sure to explain to wash my hands before I put them on and before I take them off. So to demonstrate, she washed her hands before putting them on. THEN, she DROPPED a contact lens. We couldn't find it bc #1 I wasn't wearing glasses so I couldn't see and #2 I don't know what her excuse was. Anyway, she finally found it! Where you ask? Her SHOE! The sole (side) of her SHOE! So she picked it up and put it on my eye!!! I couldn't believe it! I was shocked, so shocked i didn't say anything. Well I told her it didn't feel comfortable so she removed it. Then grabbed another pair and DIDN'T wash her hands! So I told her "aren't we supposed to wash our hands before putting them on?" She agreed then proceeded to wash her hands but it wasn't until after I said something. This was such a bad experience for a first time contact lens wearer!
