Busy store that's understaffed so prepare to wait. Just four employees working on a Sunday afternoon. Two saleswomen could work on their iPads to set up orders. Exactly one tech at the fitting bar could adjust specs. All seemed to be trying hard to help people, but choosing & fitting a pair of glasses can really take a lot of time. I came here to use my employer vision insurance. I waited about 10 min outside, then almost an hour for a salesperson. Kudos for giving me a detailed quote in writing so I can think about it. Store capacity limited due to COVID. And policies for inventory are strange, they will NOT order a frame in a different color or size, you can only have what's in stock. Of course there are a zillion more frame colors and sizes than the in-store inventory.

Awful. Terrible service, condescending attitude from staff, better deals elsewhere. Don't waste your time

Came here with an appointment scheduled and wasn't seen for 45 minutes. Completely unprofessional. No apologies, no explanations.

Expect to be here for no less than 90 minutes, no matter what you're having done, even a minor adjustment. A waste of time.

Upon arriving at the office, the assistant at the front desk greeted me with a smile, was friendly and helped make check-in a breeze. During my visit, everyone on the staff, with whom I encountered, was so friendly, professional, helpful, and extremely organized. I immediately felt at ease with everyone in the office and appreciated Dr. Fruchtman's assistant for her kindness while helping me prepare for my eye exam. I also appreciated how Dr. Fruchtman patiently listened to my concerns, took his time while going through the examination, then explaining his recommendations in detail including having his wonderful staff prepare my prescription so I could take it with me when leaving. Dr. Fruchtman is a true professional that is kind, very personable, and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend you make an appointment with Dr. Fruchtman when looking for a highly skilled optometrist.

When I arrived I heard the receptionist taking medical history form a patient through the sign in window, clearly a violation and in poor form. She took my daughters glasses when we checked in, put them is some machine that sits to her left and wrote some numbers on a card. When the doctor came to the desk, he did the same thing, he crossed out what she wrote and wrote something else. Then she came back, and crossed out what he wrote...etc finally they talked and neither could remember if they were writing about the left or right eye and asked for the glasses back again! Throughout the exam, it was increasingly clear, the physician was not at all clear as to what my problem was and although I should have left then, I thought since I was already there and we were 1/2 way though I would hope I was judging too fast and it would all be okay. After my own exam, he said my prescription was fin, then he thought I should have bifocals, then trifocals. Then he thought about contacts, and finally wanted to give me a brochure for surgery (but he couldn't find one). They wanted my previous prescription but had trouble getting in touch with my last eye doc. (I actually had to call from the exam room on my own cell and got it in 5 minutes!) A week later my daughters new glasses were in, but they confessed the lenses were not exactly what she ordered. They actually gave me two choices...take the incorrect glasses or since she would have to work with the insurance company it would take weeks to get the correct order! Can you believe someone would actually offer the incorrect glasses??? I called the insurance myself and got it straightened out in 20 minutes. Davis vision was kind enough to call the office and rectify things in moments! Now when I am calling to get an estimate for when the new pair will be in, the phone rings 50 times with no answer. Tried from 3 different phones, no machine, no service, just rings! In closing, this is a clear mom and pop operation, with antiquated office procedures (they don't even take credit cards if you use your insurance!, you have to pay cash!!!), poor customer service, not responsive, ultimately rude. Would NEVER go back again, there are many other options out there!!!!

Outdated office; the dr cut his finger on the contact foil case, wiped his finger on a kleenex and then handed me the contact lens on his cut finger. So the cleanliness is clearly suspect. He got my contact prescription wrong, so I had to go back a second time. They overcharged me for my routine exam, them had to cut a check to fix that. The receptionist said we were welcome to price contacts out online before buying through them, because she felt confident their pricing was "competitive." I saw I could save almost 50% online, which is right around the time she became nasty and rude. I had to call back because I could not understand all that was written on the script--the doctor had written both glasses and contact RXs on the same slip. She was super hostile and practically hung up on me. Don't go here unless you like fighting with people.

They have a wide selection of normal-looking frames, as well as more distinctive choices that the staff will be excited to show you. It's worth stopping in if you want some choices that you won't be able to find elsewhere. My left eye is -6, my right eye is -4, and I have strong astigmatisms in both eyes too. Mintze, my optician, set about looking for frames that had adequate support for the thicker parts of my lenses-to-be. When it came time to pick the coatings, she warned me that the blue light filters would really harm the transmission of the thicker parts of the lens. I appreciated this attention to detail. Really, you're coming to Madison Eyes because you want a neutral person's appraisal for how the frames look on you, and because you want greater selection. It's definitely not cheap to buy glasses here. But it's worth it for making the most of my sight, my most important sense. I'm posting photos of my top two choices from this year. Vote for the one that looks better on me!
