Booked online and was able to get an appointment in for the next day for my 2 girls. Which was perfect! Staffing was okay.. seemed a lil off with customer service. Because of their uncertainty when I asked about insurance coverage. Nonetheless.. was in and out very quickly for both appointments and paid. Waited about 30 mins for my prescriptions, when I inquired about it at the desk, representative said "oh I gave it to the floor representative". I said why when you said you'll bring it out to me and that's what I just paid you for. Very annoying, because I did not plan on buying glasses from Lens Crafter only went for the eye exams. I had spent thousands here with the optometrist and the glasses side and a year later, they can't even return my call. I spent time over a 2 month period chasing a call back, and by the time I got through to anyone, the prescription expired. Useless service and staff, lousy customer service. I had scheduled an appointment during the middle of the workweek when there were a lot of open appointment slots so as best to ensure a smooth visit. I had to wait nearly 6 weeks for my eyeglasses. I brought 2 old frames to have my new prescription lens put in. Two weeks after I dropped off my old frames, I received a call saying they broke one pair of my frames. I went in to pick a pair for replacement. At that time, I was told they lost the broken pair as well losing as my 2nd pair of frames. So, the manager told me to pick 2 pairs of frames regardless of the cost. Which I did. I was told even if they found my old glasses they would still give me the 2 free pair. I took my family there for eye exams, while the medical staff was kind and courteous, the retail dept. is a major disappointment, my daughter's and wife's glasses were done but they broke my frames and after three week just told me about today. Now they want me to pick out another set of frames free of charge of but now I have to wait another two to three weeks to receive my glasses. It is the worse eye doctor and eye glass store I went to in recent years. The doctor refused to give regular eye exam that is fully covered by insurance. You will have to promise to pay extra $$ exam fee and buy expensive glasses from the store before she agrees to do the exam. It seems to be a very greedy place. So stay away if possible. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!! Lenscrafters upsold my 90 year old mother the top of the line Varilux lenses. Her lenses cost over $500, and the glasses in total were close to $700. I don't even pay those prices, and I live in NYC! My mother has had bifocals her entire life, she doesn't need Varliux, no less the most expensive lenses. I wanted to cancel the order, it had only been a few hours since it was placed. They said the glasses have to come in first and then they will send them back. That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard! Now, my mother has to wait even longer to get her glasses. They said I should have come in with her. Obviously, I would have if that were an option. I asked to speak to the manager. I was on hold for a while and then the sales person returned to the line. She said the manager is on a conference call and can't talk, but that my mother agreed to the lenses. Of course she did, she doesn't know any better! She trusted the salesperson to guide her. Disgusting attitudes from the employees. So rude and condescending especially from the woman named Rebecca, I believe. My mom wanted to do an exchange for the glasses and every pair we picked out that my mom actually liked, she made a snarky remark in response. We kept picking different ones and she seemed to get extremely irritated and then began to speak to the other employee in another language, most likely insulting us. We immediately left the store because we didn't think they deserved our business. We went back to our home location in East Hanover and were welcomed back in such a friendly manner and they addressed the issue and apologized on behalf of the rude staff here at Livingston. I recommend everyone to avoid this location at all costs and take the trip to the next town over to East Hanover for the LensCrafters, where you'll be treated with respect and kindness. read more

1) My name was spelled wrong on the prescription (both the first and last name spelled incorrectly) 2) The optometrist will refuse to give you the P.D. distance. Despite paying for an eye exam, and directly asking the optometrist, she was told she was not able to do this. This is essentially a scam to force you to purchase eye glasses from Lenscrafters. But when it comes to the areas of frame selection it really really sucks, I understand that every customer deserves time specially if they are like me that I hate glasses but don't have other options. The man was nice and reasonably attentive, but the woman had nothing to say to us at all aside from a slightly condescending, entirely presumptuous, and totally unsolicited remark that Lens Crafters no longer prepares glasses on the premises. I had the most pleasant experience here today getting first time glasses for my 6 year old son. Thank you so very much to Chivon who made what I was afraid was going to be a rough experience a very easy one. She convinced my son that he looked super smart in his new glasses. She also helped with insurance and pricing issues and made our entire experience an easy one. I neglected to get the Doctors name however she was just as sweet and patient with my son. We just left this store and had such a good experience that I wanted to write a review. Marc G has excellent customer service skills. We have been to other LensCrafters locations in the area and this by far was the easiest and most helpful visit when trying to find new glasses for my husband. He clearly explained everything we needed to know and did not pressure us into getting anything that wasn't needed. He even helped him find different frame options, which was not something we were expecting based on previous experience. My husband was also concerned about the thickness of the lenses for the frames he chose and Marc helped to explain which frames would be best suited for that purpose. Thanks so much, Marc! Made appointment, got a call to call them back. Called them back - wanted to know if I was using insurance, When I said yes they told me they were too busy to contact insurance for approval. I could pay for the exam etc out of pocket and TRY to get reimbursed. Unbelievable. They knew I had an appointment and the insurance info. What kind of nonsense is that... they are too busy. I would not recommend this Lenscrafters to anyone. I had an awful experience there, I picked out my eye glasses and paid for them. I was told it would be ready in seven days. I waited for three weeks, when I called I was told the computer was down so they would call me back. They never call so I called again and was told by an associate he would check and call me back. Again he did not so I call again and the same young man told me he was busy and could not go to the back to check. Finally I went in and it was ready. Staff were polite but don't have genuine interest in helping you. I purchased Coach sunglasses a few weeks back and when I purchased them the guy said he would adjust it so it would fit my nose better but obviously he did not really do it. I had to go back a 2nd time. Then a few weeks later I went back again hoping to get an exchange since the pair made me really uncomfortable. But unfortunately it was already after 1 month (without me realizing it) so the store couldn't do anything. Again they were polite but did not really want to help you. Even though I barely wore them.
