They don't do what they say they'll do. After getting my eye examined, I was told I needed to see a specialist. They gave me a referral slip that was incomplete, and both the Dr.'s office and I had to call multiple times to get the information needed. They'd promised to send me a disk of the images from my exam, and that never arrived. I would recommend going to someone else for your eye exam. read more

I had a myriad of tests that I've never experienced before. The 3D rendering of the inside of my eye was amazing and the doctor's explanation was insightful and thorough. + Clean. The place was spotless. + Selection. They had a sample pair of the brand of contacts I wear so I could make my business trip. + Price. They matched some online pricing so I didn't have to order from a different place. + Clear bill, explanation of procedures, and use of insurance. Everything was organized and easy to read (which makes my life easier for FSA purposes). + Although I didn't need glasses, their selection of frames was impressive. Employee Francis is not very helpful, determinedly unhelpful, lucky for me he pushed me off onto Stephanie and Ryan. Stephanie was VERY helpful and thorough with my order, the very customer service oriented Ryan completed my order so Stephanie could go home to her family. Ryan worked with me and my glasses were done in an hour. The lab guy was very customer service oriented when the tint needed to be adjusted and the very patient and thoughtful Wayne spent a while adjusting my glasses (which were quite out of whack because my face is not symmetrical). Huge shout out to Wayne at the Corte Madera location. After buying a new pair of glasses at a southern California location while on Christmas vacation, I had the frames adjusted at a Seattle store (the lenses weren't ready when I bought them, so they were sent to me in Seattle). The frames were wildly crooked when I got them, and three separate Seattle techs, on three separate visits, tried to adjust them but failed every time. On the last visit I said I wanted to exchange them (it was within the 30 day guarantee period), but was instead ushered to simply adjust them again. Surprise surprise, a few weeks later they're wildly out of alignment again. I was so fed up I almost called it quits, but stopped into the Corte Madera location while in the area and Wayne went above and beyond. His first adjustment was a million times better, but then realized the frames were actually broken, likely by over adjusting them in Seattle. He called around and found the same pair at a store a few minutes away, and within half an hour I had a fresh, unbroken pair of the same glasses with my lenses in them. My husband and I have had all of our prescription lenses filled here and bought the frames here as well - midrange for computers and bifocal for general use; I couldn't adjust to progressives, so they gladly refunded that purchase. Every person we've dealt with has been very pleasant and courteous. They've seemed genuinely interested in serving our needs and never pushed high-end frames or special lenses. They gave us all our options and plenty of time to choose. We've been in on several different occasions and each time the staff has been competent, friendly, and caring - and not just to us but to all around us. It was touching recently to see the care they gave to a person who was seriously disable and could hardly speak. They treated him with such kindness and took all the time needed to help him. Horrible, unorganized, incompetent chao every single time I am in Corte Madera store...people seem to have no system.or clue. I had.exam.and ordered a pair of Ray Ban frames - shoulda.gotten them in a couple days. Crickets. Called.2 weeks later -nope not here. Just called one month later and guy on phone can't find any record of the order although I was given a print out of complete frame.and lens package. The frames are listed online - I could have them in 2 days if I ordered myself! What is going on. I need my new.prescription and now I have no confidence that they can even measure lens properly! Seems to be a bunch of misfit toys! The doc is cool but they also dont explain totally separate company and database. F'd up!!! read more

Very very happy with my experience here especially after my horrible experience at Four Eyes a few doors down. Dr. Ng is very sweet and not pushy. I was able to sign off on the tests I did not want done ( Glacoma ) because My eyes have been hurt before by the air puff and I also dont want anyone touching my eyeball! They have lots of styles and brands for frames from modestly priced , to high end, so there is something for everyone. Staff is very friendly and through , they want to make sure your glasses sit right on your face and you look nice in them. My spouse and I ended up getting 6 pair of glasses between us. I would have given them 5 stars but for 2 things. One, unbeknownst to me , a frame broke when they were putting the Lenses in and they could not find another pair ( Tory Birch brand) After 2 weeks of not hearing anything about any of my glasses ( my husband already got all 3 of his) I called to check on my glasses & they said they called me. ( I think they dialed a wrong # because there was no record or msg from them) So I went in and they called around for me to locate another pair but could not. I appreciate the trouble they went thru to locate another pair for me. I just think they needed a little more follow up when trying to get ahold of someone since accidents like this can occur. The other thing would be to have their chairs cleaned, the black ones. They are gross! Other then that I thank the Dr & Staff for making my experience a much better one then the last place I went to. read more

So, I did some damage to my glasses and found myself in dire need of a new pair in a relatively short period of time. Enter lenscrafters who has appointments available on a Sunday! Whew! Made an appointment online and went in to the location. Spend about 4 hours there, which was a whole lot longer than I thought I'd be there. Turns out on Sunday's they are a bit short staffed, so I had to give them a break for that, but one of the employees was obviously cranky and a bit unprofessional as a result. Luckily it wasn't the doc. She was fabulous! Did all of the eye tests and was offered the opportunity to do an image. Essentially, this does the same thing as dilation, except, you don't have to go through the dilation process, just stick your eye to a machine, and viola, no dark crazy sunglasses for the rest of the day. It took a long time to get fitted for glasses due to the short staffing, but I was able to pick them up a couple hours later and they were ready when I was told they would be ready. They were running a sale so I got 30% off and a pair of glasses and an eye exam...did I mention this was on a Sunday? read more

I had my eyes examined here by Dr. Hum (who did an outstanding job). Then had my lenses and glasses made from an online source. When I put my glasses on however, something was off. I brought them in to get checked and the frames were a tweaked. Mike and Jim we're great and helped me dial in where my glasses should be on my face, while also giving me thorough explanation of why they needed adjustment and gave new measurements had I wanted them to be redone. I understand some people may be unhappy with their experience here but, my experience was way different. I really believe these folks do have passion for jobs and it shows. Thanks guys. read more

I have been going to Lenscrafters for many many years and have always had a good experience . Today was worth mentioning. They have a special of $99.00 for free frame and special lenses that have blue light protection. Amazing, right! I returned today to have my glasses checked as I noticed the left glass seemed blurry and my eyes felt they were cross-eyed somewhat. Wayne helped me and he was so patient and really checked and thought out different possibilities of why this would be happening. It turned out to be such simple fix. I bought a pair of glasses with single vision lens but realized after wearing a few days that I should have gotten progressive lenses. I called my sales person Blanca who looked-up my order, checked with the lens technician Jim, and then explained my various options. I could use the same frames, Jim could create new lens to insert, and it could be done in a few hours. Dr. Ng is amazing. She is engaged, knowledgeable and very friendly. This was my first exam in 14 years and a lot has changed for me since my Lasix surgery. She answered my many questions expertly and confidently. I was examined, fitted for glasses and contacts all within 1 hour. I have to rate down my review I previously wrote, due to the fact that I called multiple times in regards to my contacts being shipped to the wrong address and being informed that they would be shipped back to the store. I was told by the manager I would receive a call when they come to the store anticipated to be in store Monday 7/24. 7/25 I call twice to check if my package was in store, the first employee said they would call me back, but never did. The second employee informed me that it was not found and I would have to wait for the doctor or the manager to call me back to tell me where my package was (rather than checking the tracking herself). I received no call from either the doctor or manager in regards to my issue. I call today 7/27 to only find out that my package was delivered to USPS on Saturday 7/22 and I'm suppose to pick them up. It's not a problem picking them up, but not being informed is what's frustrating. If I would of been called back like I was told with proper information, I wouldn't have been as frustrated, and I would of had my contacts by now. I usually have a great experience with this Location, but it's disappointing to have to keep reaching out only to find out it could of been resolved much sooner if someone would of called me back informing me to pick them up myself. read more

I walked in on a Saturday hoping to schedule an eye exam. Surprisingly, I was immediately accommodated with an appointment in 30 minutes. The doc was really nice and staff were helpful. I got my glasses ordered the same day and they were ready in less than 24 hours since they had my lenses and frame in stock at the store. Responding to an advert, I visited this LensCrafters location in Corte Madera. There were perhaps two other customers in the store. I was browsing and trying on various frames for at least 15-20 minutes. There were two employees in the store that I could see. At no time did a single LensCrafters employee approach me to inquire if I needed assistance. Geez, had I forgotten to remove my invisibility cloak? Business must be superb if they can ignore customers. Imagine what the rest of your eyeglass buying experience might be, having to deal with such a crass attitude as I encountered yesterday. I'd lost my prescription sunglasses right before going on vacation to Hawaii, and they were wonderful in helping me out with getting a new pair within one hour! They offered no fuss, great customer service, and a solid selection of brands and style. Additionally, when I was in Hawaii, I needed the glasses tightened to my face, and the LensCrafters there took great care of me, adjusting the lenses at no charge. I'm really grateful! read more

The glasses I got were fine, made within a week as promised. The sales girl that helped me was good at finding the styles I wanted, but I am giving them three stars only. First I got the feeling they were pushing the more expensive options, for the lenses, and giving me a really hard sell. When my glasses finally arrived $500+ bucks later they came in a butt ugly plaid case, when I asked for a replacement case they told me I could buy one. I think for the high prices they charge they could have given me a case that I liked. P.S. I went into Costco optical the next day and they gave me a nice case for free. read more

A year ago the ear piece on my prescription sun glasses broke. I took them back into LC, as that is where they were purchased, and was told there was no way the could repair or order a new ear piece. I was so disappointed. Happened to be in Mill Valley and walked into Rims and Googles...sure we can fix them. In 48 hours my favorite glasses were repaired. I needed to have an eye exam and thought I would give LensCrafters a second chance. Boy was that a mistake. The intake person who was to do the preliminary exam was incredibly unprofessional. It was the first time I have ever had to crook my neck so much that it was painful just to read an eye chart. Later I found out the machine was adjustable. I guess it was more fun to watch someone contort their neck than to tell or show them how to adjust the machine. Never again LensCrafter...sorry but I am unwilling to give you a third chance. read more

A great location, with good staff, friendly people. Have used both the Lenscrafters and the EyeExam co-located here a number of times and never had any trouble. The obvious negative is that LensCrafters is TOO expensive (I dropped them a star for that) but that's life with modern glasses. Its not like they force you to buy glasses with expensive frames. And they certainly push the extra coatings on you, though again, its up to you to say no if you want to keep your costs down. All in all highly recommended. read more

This is the first review I have ever written. I hope it is helpful. I have gone here for 5 years. I returned because I am lazy. They aren't bad - not awesome. This time, for the first time, I had insurance. I SPENT THREE HOURS THERE. The man helping me did not know how to apply my insurance. They accept this plan and should have known how to use it! To make a long story short, I figured out half of it for him by reading some simple directions. Then, I asked him to ask someone else for help -- and WOW -- my insurance worked! Aside from this, the optometrist I worked with a month prior (who seemed too awesome to be working here ) had switched me to multifocal lenses. She told me that if they didn't work well to call, and she could help me switch back to monovision. The lenses are great except when I want to watch my child perform in play. Too blurry. So I mentioned this while I was there. Of course they CAN'T HELP ME. I need ANOTHER APPOINTMENT (despite what the first optometrist said). This was during the three hours I was waiting for them to deal with my glasses. SO -- Here is the deal. It seems like the employees just are unwilling or too busy to communicate with each other. If they took the time to do so, they would be better. If you are going in for something simple - you will be fine and think everyone is awesome. If you have a problem/ issue, go elsewhere. This was one of the most frustrating and time wasting experience ever. I dealt with three different people and each one had to start over with the order. I had to go through the process of lens wanted, insurance twice. When I finally got to what I hoped was the end, the gentleman helping me, suddenly said that my prescription was different than my last which was simply not true. He checked again and said that he was correct and began telling me the differences. What I realized was that he was trying to build my glasses around my husband's glasses. That was it! I told him I would not use their horrible services and would go to Northgate. No apology given with the only thing being said, "we are understaffed!" No you are incompetent. Run as fast as you can from this store! Yes, the cliché "they will get blood out of turnips" is truly fitting for this LensCrafters. Recently, I was sent by my eye surgeon to LensCrafters in Corte Madera with a prescription stating that the only thing I needed was a revaluation of my reading glasses: all the other tests - glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinopathy, floaters /flashes, etc - had just been performed in his office. The manager refused to accept the doctor's prescription because they wanted to do all of these costly and uncomfortable tests all over again! There is only on rule that need to be apply here: never, ever do business with dishonest people! Fortunately there are plenty of decent optometrists that will do exactly what the doctor recommends. read more

My sunglasses are scratched, i went to find out if they could buff them, NO. Since I have only had the glasses for 8 months, I asked if they could replace the damaged lens, NO Because I did not choose the lens coating when I bought the glasses, there is no replacement??!! What is that about??? Where did I sign any such waiver? A bad experience, and lousy service, they suggested I buy a new pair of lenses for $300! Are they just trying to weasel out of their guarantee that they will replace any problems within ONE YEAR. read more

My family's experience with the service at this store has mostly been mediocre; however, we certainly received great, professional service yesterday from Alina and it appeared that other employees at this store were working very intently to help their customers. Alina very patiently helped my son find the lenses he needed and, then, worked with us very deliberately to determine how to best leverage our insurance! It's great experiences with people that create positive customer experiences and we certainly had an outstanding customer service experience with Alina. Hats off to her and whoever helped train her! He is laid back, very professional and I have always been happy with the results.
