I truly cannot understand the negative reviews on here because after my time at LensCrafters in the Town Center I know that I will never have to find another eyeglass store again. I walked in at 9:58AM for a scheduled eye test at 10:00AM to get a new prescription as well as new frames. My eye test began immediately after I finished my paperwork. I was helped by a very warm and knowledgeable lady named Ryan. She took care of the preliminary eye exam and answered all of my questions with poise and understanding. Dr. Ng then walked in to begin my eye test. On a personal I want to let everyone know that very rarely is my energy or passion matched when I meet someone, the optometrist here not only matched but passed me that morning. Dr Ng came in with such passion for Optometry and spoke with such clarity and understanding of the subject matter, as well as being extremely receptive to my questions and concerns. I'm telling you, the love for her job almost makes you want to become an optometrist. She doesn't try to sell you anything but merely lists your options and puts you in full control of your decisions. Later, as I was fumbling through glasses and having no idea of what kind of pair I wanted for my daily activities, Ryan and another knowledgeable employee Rachel both took over 20 minutes going through different pairs with me, talking about the pros and cons, as well as the way it fit my face (I have a narrow one and a big nose). Rachel as well as Ryan were warm and gregariousness and made my time at Lenscrafter's a real experience instead of a cold transaction. Lastly, I was going to buy a used pair of a pair of glasses for about $160 I believe the store manager's name was Amy who took a look at the glasses and decided that they were not in good enough condition and then proceeded to mark the new pair of burberry glasses I purchased to the used price of $160. WOW. It was just further validation of the kind of store they are running here. My glasses were ready for pick-up the same time and they fit perfectly as well as drastically improving my vision in spite of my stigmatism. LensCrafters Corte Madera thank you. I have never been a huge fan of LensCrafters - I've typically walked in and walked out in the past for a number of reasons. Not the case at the LensCrafters in Corte Madera; Jessica helped me find a perfect pair of glasses (and was really honest - she actually noted that a $99 frame looked better on me than a $400 pair), adjusted them to perfection, and made sure I was 100% satisfied with my glasses before I left. The case of the loose screw: LensCrafters is one of the most efficient and reliable businesses you'll find. Great people, excellent service, and follow up care is remarkable.. We have been going to this location for many years. But something happened today that baffled me...still they will get their stars, but I was perplexed. One of the screws that holds the frame together and the lens had been coming loose for about 2 weeks. I would tighten it and it would eventually come loose and the lens would fall out. No damage to the lens. I had been meaning to get to LensCrafters to have it fixed but no time until today. A few days before I dabbed some household glue on the screw thinking that might hold it but, it didn't. I came in and showed them the problem and I was asked if there was glue on the screw hinge and I said yes and explained the problem and could they put in a new screw. The glasses where then taken to a tech and the report was that since there was glue present a new screw would not fit. After I rebutted that the glue did nothing to hold the screw tight, why wouldn't simply replacing the screw be the solution. No solution and no fix. I went to the drug store, bought an eyeglass kit with multiple size screws, found the right one, removed the remaining glue and screwed it in...holding perfectly like I knew it would. I don't know if there is a liability issue and replacing the screw could damage the lens or frame, but it was just very unusual as they go out of their way to keep our glasses in good shape and this item being something so logically simple to repair. Still love LensCrafters and will continue to go there and recommend to all. read more

I've had less than stellar customer service at this store. When I walked in today, that's what I expected but what a surprise. Ryan stayed with me and did everything he could to help me find new glasses and new sunglasses. In his quiet patient manner, he listened and respected my concerns. He stayed with me until I'd found what I was pleased with. He's awesome. Whatever he's being paid, it's not enough. From past experiences, I thought this would be my last visit there. meant to post this a few weeks ago, a young man by the name of Jesse helped my son during our visit. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. My sons glasses broke in half on our trip so we stopped at the closest Lens Crafters we could find. He worked with us getting a new pair of frames and better lenses for my son as he listened to most of his problems he was having with his old pair. We were even able to order and pick them up before we left back home (which coincidentally Jesse happens to be from the same area). read more

I never write reviews on here, but this was beyond bad. The first time I went the eye doctor was rude and made unprofessional comments about other disciplines of healthcare workers. She told me to follow up by phone to confirm my prescription, and I called the clinic for a week straight but no one ever answered the phone. I called LensCrafters corporate and could get no information. I had to take a sick day to go back and confirm the prescription. I asked for a paper copy to order my contacts through an outside vendor and they complained, but they did give me one. I got home and realized the prescription they wrote out did not match the samples I had used. I had to take another day off work to return to clinic to fix this. I had a follow up appt with a different eye doctor there who treated me like a problem because I had previously complained. I recently moved and went to a new eye doctor and I found out this practice had changed the axis of my astigmatism incorrectly. I now have a new prescription which matches what I used before coming to LensCrafter Corte Madera. I strongly recommend no one trust this practice with their health or vision benefits. read more

I recently visited Lens Crafters Corte Madera and had a great experience. I was surprised to see others had a poor experience so I wanted to share. I had to wait for my appointment due to a machine having to be rebooted and the staff were very apologetic for my wait and made my time feel valued. I had new insurance and rather than viewing my card the staff pulled it immediately up through their system. Dr. Hum is wonderful! She is friendly and had a great manner about her. I called back to order contacts and Kenzie was so helpful giving me different pricing options, finding if I had any special offers with my insurance and sent my contacts directly to my home. I will be going here for future eye exams and highly recommend. read more

As I waited I observed the staff and they were all super friendly and professional, even with the hoity toity customers. They fixed my glasses In 10 minutes and didn't even charge me. I didn't know what to expect since it was my first visit to LensCrafters in Corte Madera. Right from the beginning, the people at the front desk were very nice. Next was my eye exam and again very professional and very thorough. They also refrain from trying to hard sell you anything beyond what you came in for which is rare these days. Walked in for a prescription and new pair of glasses and was very pleased with the service and how thorough my examination was. Dr. Ng did a great job, I'm happy with my prescription, and she was welcoming and fun through the whole process. My new frames are cute and fit my face well. But in retrospect I would not have gotten the anti-glare coating on my lenses as it was pricey and I don't notice any improvement. Overall a great spot to go. Me and my husband we just made our new glasses in Lens Crafters, Corte Madera. Sami was our technician. She is absolutly amazing! She is friendly and she will tell you exactly what you need and what is the best for your eyes, your budget and your face. I can say she really knows her job and how to take care of custumers. Thanks to her we have the best glasses now. She help us to choose our lens and the frames to fit our faces perfect and to much with the lens. Horrible customer service. Had to come in more than once to get my glasses adjusted because they can't do them correctly the first time. Will probably end up getting them adjusted at the Northgate location because they are much more helpful and capable of doing things right at the Northgate location. Jose, Usama, and Paul gave us superb service! They were excellent listeners, helped us to find good fits for our faces and our needs, assisted us in tracking down insurance and AAA benefits, and prepared our new glasses quickly and with expert skill. We are thrilled with our new glasses, their fit, and function. We've spent much more time and money in the past few years at boutique-style frame stores in San Francisco, and found our experience at the Corte Madera LensCrafters to be greatly superior. I got my eyes examined there a couple days ago. Everyone is very helpful and the doctor was extremely nice. The glasses they have are so nice and it was hard to pick just one. If they have your prescription in stock they can have your glasses the same day. Sometimes in less than an hour. If you order contacts they take about a week to come in. I don't have insurance and they gave me a discount which helped out. read more

Bought a new Oakley frame (works well) but the lenses (produced in store) were made too fast and too sloppy so they don't look identical.

I recently stopped in to look around for new reading/PC glasses. The staff member that assisted me was so friendly and professional that I decided to have my eyes examined. I was very impressed with the eye exam equipment and technologies that LensCrafters has put in place. Came back with my husband to purchase some sunglasses and he ended up having an eye exam and purchasing new glasses as well. On Tuesday afternoon, I went to this location to have my eyeglasses repaired. The string that holds my lens in place had broken. Emily who is an employee at this location told me the repair should only take 5 minutes. I told her I had to make another stop in the mall and that I would come back. 10 minutes later when I returned, she handed me my glasses and told me that she didn't want me to have to wait, so she personally did the repair herself. She went on to explain that the technicians were backed up and would have taken an hour to complete the repair. I was so happy! I had an appointment in San Francisco and would never have made it in time and did not have time to come back since I live in San Francisco as well. I do travel to Corte Madera about twice a month, so I will always go to this particular location in the future for my eyeglass needs. Kudos to Emily for going the extra mile! read more

Not knowledge, helpful or friendly. Combine that with overpriced and this place isn't worth the trip. I've been to this Lenscrafters twice and both times was the same - overpriced and under-serviced. The main motivation seems to be to upsell as much as possible. The first time I went there they over-prescribed -- trying to sell me lenses for distance and reading. (My reading vision is great.) The glasses would have been over $600 with the prescription they were suggesting. I called them on it and made them change it. The second time I went (today) I told them that I needed a prescription for single vision distance glasses. When I called a week ago to make the appointment, I specifically asked if they take a Pupillary Distance (PD) measurement. I was told there is a machine that does it and it is written on the prescription. When I asked the optometrist for it today, she told me, "You can measure it yourself; look up online how to do it." (Nice, eh?!) When I said that I was told they have a machine that takes it, she said the machine isn't accurate. I got the prescription - no PD measurement. They seem more interested in their commission than in listening to and understanding what you really need. read more

Waited over 2 weeks for frameless glasses that were promised in 7-10 days. Waited another 15 minutes in store before being waited on to pick-up glasses. Had a 30 second fitting review by person who stated that , "they look straight to me". Got home and checked myself to find that glasses were obviously in need of proper alignment and fitting. These glasses cost over $600. Incompetence at every level except taking your money. read more
