Horrible experience. Tony is extremely nice and professional. But the manager Cassandra is just SO RUDE!! I asked for gray lenses with a salesperson, but got green-ish lenses when I picked it up another day. A different lady named Cassandra who claimed to be the manager was there. Cassandra first tried to gaslight me into believing the green lenses are the gray ones that I asked for. I took out my original gray color lenses and showed her that it's not the same color. I nicely asked her if it's OK that they replace the lenses to the color that I wanted. She suddenly talked to me rudely. Her original word was: "I can change it for you, but I don't want to. Because no matter what color we give you, you won't be satisfied. You will just come back and ask for new colors again and again." Her bad attitude was out of nowhere. Then I explained the situation last week with the different salesperson. I asked for exactly the same color as my original lenses but with prescription. She kept repeating her passive aggressive words implying that I chose the green color myself, and was then unsatisfied and asking for change, implying that I was a dishonest customer. Cassandra then started gaslighting me by "I was there the whole time when you were working with Tony, I was sitting right next to you. I saw him showing all the lenses to you and you chose the green color." I knew it was not true, because only Tony was there when I went there last week. So I explained that "You were not there. You must have mistaken me of someone else." She started increasing her voice and be like: "No, I was sitting right next to you the whole time. IT IS YOU." I proposed looking at the camera and see if she was there. She started saying "ugh, dramatic." I got mad and asked her: "Were you calling me dramatic??" She replied: "No, I am not talking about you." I pointed out that LensCrafters has the 30 days guaranteed satisfaction, she simply replied rudely: "Yes, but you will never be satisfied. You will just come back and change colors again and again." At that point I was really mad but still trying to explain. She almost shouted: "YOU DO NOT INCREASE YOUR VOICE!!! YOU DO NOT! INCREASE YOUR VOICE" I said: "I can come back tomorrow and work with the salesperson that I talked to, but I think your attitude towards the customers should be better." She rudely replied: "You are the one increasing your voice and calling me a liar. I have been professional and nice all this time." Then she just started to file documents for other customers and ignore me. The experience with Cassandra was SO HORRIBLE. Her service was so unprofessional and rude, full of gaslighting, passive-aggressiveness, discrimination, and microaggression. She did not even listen to my when I explained. I eventually left the store feeling discriminated as an Asian customer and being accused to be a dramatic and dishonest customer. read more

I purchased glasses for my elderly dad. They said they'd arrive in two weeks -- maybe three at most. They did not arrive for more than six weeks. To add insult to injury, they called my dad saying the glasses had arrived after about three weeks. He drove two hours out of his way only to learn ONLY the LENSES had arrived -- no frames. After the false alarm, I had to tell him to go elsewhere for glasses. He couldn't continue without glasses for an indefinite period of time. Ultimately, he ended up with two pairs of glasses -- costing more than I was prepared to spend. And all we got was a lousy apology. No offer to make things right. Just excuses! I've shopped at LensCrafters in Champaign for 25+ years. Never again! It saddens me to complain about this business. But it was a horrible, costly experience. Avoid at all costs. Substandard service to go with overpriced eyewear. Spent $650 on glasses. Picked up first pair. Was told to wait for the second pair. Never received notification that they were in because they texted the wrong number. After three weeks I tried to call, at least four times, but they refused to answer the phone. Finally we had to drive all the way over there to get an answer as to whether they were ready or not. Having finally collected them (after paying $650) I asked if they could throw in some lens cleaner. "That's not our policy." "Well, I think that's pretty crummy." "We don't give out things for free." (!!!). She's right about that. They sure didn't give out glasses for free and were too cheap to even throw in a bottle of lens cleaner after all the inconvenience. Rude. I ordered prescription sunglasses one month ago. The expected timeframe for their pickup was two weeks. The frames arrived at about two and a half weeks, last week I called and they said the lenses had been cut but still needed to be coated. At this point they're still not complete. The antireflective coating on my eye glasses wore off developing several spots making my glasses look ugly. I just couldn't wear them anymore. I ordered my daughter's glasses ten days ago but have not been able to pick them up. I ordered them at the end of May, when they were open. She needs these glasses ASAP because she is having persistent headaches, yet the office closed without notifying anybody that it is closing. We cannot order these again without spending out of pocket because they filed insurance information and now we cannot use insurance again. What are we supposed to do? We've been clients at LensCrafters for years and years. I tried to make an appointment for the weekend. They asked me if I had a doctor preference. I said, "No, just a weekend appointment please." She pulled up our name and stated that we needed to see a specific provider since we had seen him before (mind you-we did not pick this provider). Low and behold this specific doctor (we are now required to see) doesn't have weekend hours and limited weekday. I asked to see someone else. When they said they wouldn't change the doctor....I ended the call. We are now currently looking for another office for our eye care needs. read more

The doctor side of LensCrafters gets 5 stars. Always impressed with them and will continue to go there for the doctor and staff. However. I've found the retail side of LensCrafters to be a complete rip off. Ever wonder why glasses are ungodly expensive here? YouTube: luxottica 60 minutes. Apparently one company (luxottica) owns pretty much everything when it comes to eye where, including LensCrafters, eyemed insurance, etc. The insanely high prices wouldn't be the worst of things if they at least took care of me after the sale. I spent over $400 for a pair of Oakley prescription frames with thin lenses and all the special coatings in 2013. I took them back just a year later to have new lenses installed after my eye exam and the lady just looked at me and said "the in house lab can't put new lenses in semi -frameless frames". I asked her if she could send them out to another lab and she refused saying they wouldn't be able to do it either, and that my only option was to buy new frames! Now this seemed insane since my frames somehow got lenses in them inititally. Her excuse was that my frames were to "beat up". Sure, they could have used a few adjustments from me wearing them, but they weren't bad. After I left extremely frustrated I took my script to all about eyes and they immediately sent my frames out to their lab and installed new lenses in a week! All for a fraction of the price. read more

My visit with the optometrist's office in Lenscrafters was very pleasant. The staff people were obviously experienced in working with students and employees from the university, so they took care of my insurance paperwork without a problem. The regular eye exam was performed in a quick and competent manner (less than 20 minutes). If you don't have a preferred optometrist in the area, the office at Lenscrafters will do just fine for a prescription. Next, I stopped by their shop to select new frames. As other reviewers have mentioned, the attendants at Lenscrafters often seem overwhelmed by a mob of customers, so don't expect too much individual attention during the process of choosing frames. I settled on a pair of everyday glasses and sunglasses. I was told the sunglasses would be ready in 1 hour while they would have to order the parts for my everyday glasses. The staff people were very attentive and professional when fitting my sunglasses, making sure they sat on my face properly and even feeling the tightness of the metal behind my ear. I walked out of Lenscrafters feeling fairly positive about the whole transaction... ...Until today. Almost 1 month has passed (exactly 25 days) and my everyday glasses are still being "processed" by their laboratory. Each Monday, I've called the store to check the status of the glasses. I'm always told that, "Your order is still being processed" or "Your order will be shipping from our lab soon." How is it that Lenscrafters requires 1 month to make a pair of glasses while every other optometrist in town advertises that they can have your glasses in a week or less? Each time I've called, none of their attendants attempt to explain the circumstances that are causing the delay. Was there something weird about the lenses? Did they stop manufacturing the type of frames I chose? When I called again yesterday, the attendant who answered the phone told me that she would have to call the lab, and then call me back. However, she NEVER returned my call (probably because she was buried under work orders from other customers). To be fair, I think my case is a freak accident, and I am sure that there are dozens of happy customers who walk out of Lenscrafters everyday. I feel that I can't deduct too many points from the store itself, because they do have capable employees and their manufacturer is probably more to blame for the missing glasses. My biggest complaint is that this location obviously lacks sufficient staff to man the floor and adequately serve the number of people that come in. read more

In this day and age with online glasses for cheap, I went into LensCrafters not expecting a whole lot. It turns out I found a good pair, Heather was attentive, & I'm pleased to say that with my EyeMed plan, I walked out of there w/only a $10 copay for bifocals. $11.64 w/ tax! Pro tip: SHOP THE RETURN SECTION! Great selection, same frames, $60+ off the price of frames! Why only 4 stars? The last pair I purchased at LC scratched easily and a coating peeled off of my wife pair from LC. I'm going to view my current visit as a step in the right direction and pray that my new lenses hold up! They CAN be busy at times. Do yourself a favor and go in the evening on a weekday. read more

I know Lenscrafter has some limited "cheaper-end" frames, but I give it 5 stars for their service. A few months ago, I bought a pair of glasses and ended up regretting my choice in style and the price was higher than I normally would have gone for. I was able to return it - no problem, no questions, full refund. But what I like best is just their professional atmosphere and care for their customers. All the workers really seem to know what they are talking about and are willing to spend as much time with you until your glasses are fitting correctly - even if they were not bought at Lenscrafter. =) read more

Before July, I had never been a customer of LensCrafters. However, I definitely have a elevated view of them after the following incident. My family and I were on a long road trip (3,500 miles round trip) from the Waco, Texas area when we found ourselves in a bit of a catastrophe. My brother's band (When Forever Ends) was on their first out of state tour and scheduled to play at AudioFeed Festival in Urbana, IL on July 5th. However, my brother accidentally tore his contact lens following a show in Nashville and had not packed any spare lenses. He is the lead guitarist, so sweating and wearing glasses is a bit difficult to manage. He would have simply shipped some new lenses to Urbana for the next show, although there was a slight problem: his prescription was expired, many doctors were out of office for July 4th, and most places we contacted were simply unhelpful. However, Kya at LensCrafters in Champaign was outstanding, kind, and efficient. She was very patient with us and helped walk us through the process of obtaining a sample pair of contacts for my brother, free of charge. My brother was able to perform at the music festival without complications (needless to say he will be packing extra contact lenses in the future). $200 after a 50% off sale for a plastic pair of glasses without nosepieces! How times have changed. I'm not trendy or fashionable, so I really had no clue what I was looking for when I walked in this store. That all changed when I found out I only had 5 choices under $110 for the frames alone (buried on the last display case facing away from the door). Nonetheless, I have a fat face. Let's be honest - most days it looks like an overgrown apple growing from my body. Apparently, there are frame shapes meant for fat faces (i.e., rectangular). I spent a good 15 minutes looking at all of the glasses and, of course, did not get a rectangular frame -- primarily because in that entire 15 minutes, not one of the ten employees in the room offered assistance or guidance or anything. I was then told to "have a seat" on an ungodly uncomfortable backless bench to be fitted by a worker. This wait was 30 minutes - and there was only 1 person in front of me. Not a happy girl here. The chick worker (very nice) was not clear about their offers, prices, lens benefits, or frame choices/differences. In fact, I felt like I was forcing her to give secret information when I asked about scratch resistance, UV ray blockage, and price, etc. If you know what you're looking for and you memorize their website, this would be a fine store to shop, but you will not find a decent frame for under $170, and the 4 lenses on the website are apparently not available with all frames, because I only had 2 choices ($120 featherwates or $180 featherwates plus). Employees are not helpful, but there is a receipt book that they give you at the end of the purchase that tells you about frame choices (i.e., after you buy your non-rectangular frames for your fat face, they tell you not to do that). You could ask for this up-front because there's nothing but posters of pretty people with pro-youth slogans all over the store. Would not do again. read more

I bought some nice plastic frames up in Chicago and needed to have them adjusted in town. I've heard horror stories about places breaking plastic frames while adjusting them so I was a bit hesitant to go anywhere but my optometrist. This place was really nice and professional and they sat me down, did all the measurements and used the proper tools to heat up my frames and bend them as needed. They didn't charge for any of this either. I can't comment on their other services but for . adjustments, I was extremely satisfied. Their location is a bit elusive - you have to get in from outside the mall between Bergner's and the food court. read more

Went to go buy a new pair of glasses. The eye doctor was fantastic. However, when I tried to buy the glasses the lady working there said it would be $300 AFTER insurance and that she was sure of it. We decided to talk about it and come back a different day. Came back the next day and there was a different lady who assured us the price was $140. We said they told us it would be $300 and she said she had no idea why they would say that. If we hadn't of came back we would have spent over twice as much. Seemed pretty unprofessional. read more

I ordered my glasses on 11/11 (a Mon) & was told that that I would get a call on "Wed or Thrs" when they were ready for pick-up, despite the "glasses in about an hour" sign proudly displayed out front. No biggie. So, I paid my $215 after the 40% off promo they had going. I called 5 days later to inquire & was told that it takes about 10 business days for processing. It probably wouldn't have been that big of a deal if I had been told that. So, I call back another 5 days later & was told that they were still at the lab & I will be called when they're in. I waited another 4 days later & spoke to Heather (who was rude over the phone) who stated that she would check with the lab & call me back in 30 minutes. After an hour, I called back & spoke to another girl who told me that Heather had already left for the day (imagine that!) & that she was with a customer & would call me back in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I got a call from a guy who apologized & said that my glasses have been in for more than a few days & someone must've forgot to call me. Unbelievable. So, I ordered my glasses on 11/11 & was able to pick them up almost a month later. The manager (which was Heather even though she would never admit that she was the one I spoke to on the phone the day before) gave me $50 for the inconvenience. Won't be doing that again! read more

I have gone to Lense Crafters several times. I have always been happy with their service until recently. My son is playing sports in the fall and will need contacts. I scheduled an appointment, then received a call the day before the appointment. "We can't take new contact appointments after 4pm." So I rescheduled the appointment for 3:20. Again, the day before the appointment I received another call. "We can't accept new contact appointments after 2pm." This time I did not reschedule. When I asked to speak with manager, she was not taking calls. I am employed, like most Americans, and have a difficult time getting off early. read more

Needing my eyes tested - I ventured out to Lenscrafters and made an appointment. I was impressed with the eye exam and felt that the Dr. did an above average job during the exam. A few weeks ago I recieved a call that I my glasses were ready...I have worn them about 10 hours the last 3 weeks. It seems that when I look through the bi-focal - left eye, there is a blur, if you will, where the bi-focal is. I went to Lenscrafters this afternoon to inquire about the problem and was told that they are bi-focals - they are supposed to be fuzzy on the line. I find that unusual, since it doesn't seem to be blurry through the right lens. Damn, I've had glasses for quite a long time and bi-focals for about 16 years...Never heard that one before! Will not return, much less recommend them. read more

It seems this Lenscrafters has two account, so I don't mind post on both. Their policy(30 days adjustment guarantee) is great and the specialists are professional and nice. However, the managers(a man and a woman) are terrible. I deeply felt I was treated unfair and discriminated either because of my race, or because the purpose of my visit was to fix the glasses's problems. Instead of fixing the problem of the eye glasses they provided, the male manager would prefer to spend time on getting new customers. I went to Lenscrafters to fix a problem of my new glasses and unfortunately it was a busy day for them. He said to me that he would recommend me to come another day because they were busy. Before and after he said this to me, he didn't say the same words to all other customers who needed to get a new glasses or to pick up a glasses. He quickly assigned them (many people came after me) to specialists' tables and let me wait at the shopping area for 30 minutes. Was that because I was Asian, or because he didn't taking my request(fixing the problem of the glasses) seriously? Both. What the female manager only cared about was getting you out of there as quick as she can and getting more customers. The third time I went there to pick up an adjusted glasses, the female manager assigned me to a specialist's table. I had been waiting for 20mins at the table, which I thought it was totally ok because they were busy. However, when a specialist finally came to me and started to help me to adjust my glasses, the female manager came to talk to the specialist right away and said "after you get this done, I want you to go to another table." She pointed at the table where two white female customers JUST CAME 1 minute ago. That specialist hadn't even started helping me yet and I could sense that he felt awkward, too. He was nice and tried his best to adjust my glasses. During this time, the female manager came twice to our table to rush him go to another table to serve the white ladies. I ignored her and kept talking with the specialist about my glasses. I needed to get my glasses adjusted right since that was the second time to fix this problem. The female manager kept standing 1 meter away from our table and starring at us the whole time. I guess to this female manager, white customers were more important, their time was more valuable and they should not be waiting for a "long" time. Therefore she believed that she could rudely and frequently interrupt the service I was receiving and ask the specialist who was helping me to quickly get my part done and to run to help the white customers. If this wasn't her logic, I didn't know what her logic was. I wouldn't go to Lenscrafters again. Terrible experience. read more

I have been a client of LensCrafters for as long as I can remember. The customer service is nothing like it used to be. The guy that works in their lab is HORRIBLE. Why they have him at the front counter dealing with customers is beyond me. As long as you only go into the store to spend a bunch of money and have no problems or questions, you will be fine. If you need adjustments or have problems with your glasses, they will treat you like the biggest burden of their day(Especially the lab guy, Chad) with dirty looks, snarky comments and arguing about if a problem even exists. It got to where I almost just ate the cost the glasses that didn't work for me instead of dealing with the awkwardness of returning them. I wish I had taken pictures of how bad the glasses fit after that final adjustment. It looked like I was hit in the side of the face with a book and it bent my glasses. I will never deal with LensCrafters again. read more

My family and I have bought our eyeglasses at Lenscrafters for over 10 years. My experience with Lenscrafters, for numerous years, was very positive. I would drop in every few months for quick adjustments. Customer service was great. Fast service. Very attentive. You would sign in and would be given service in the order in which you came in. Very fair. Everything has changed over the past few years. Customer service has gone downhill. It is no longer fast or attentive. There is no longer a sign-in sheet so if you are lucky you get service in the order in which you came in. The past two times I've went in for adjustments I was escorted to one of their counters for service and patiently waited. As I waited, however, other people would walk in and get immediate service. No waiting for them but my wait kept getting longer and longer. Not very professional. You should give your customers attention but do so in a fair and equitable manner. They really need to have the sign-up sheet implemented again, as it does not work the way it is set up now. Another thing, now you have to wait 40 - 60 minutes for simple adjustments (e.g., nose pads replaced, screws tightened, etc.). They no longer do them up front they have to send your glasses in the back for adjustments. So the last time I had adjustments, I had to walk around the mall waiting for my glasses blind as a bat. I could not shop as I could not see. So I guess the next time I go in for adjustments, I should not expect to run chores while I wait or if I do want to run chores, I will have to make sure someone is available to go with me. Now isn't that reasonable. read more

When I walked in and checked in for my appointment on 11/11/17 and gave them my name the girl said hold on because I don't think it's been a year since your last appt. I told her that it's been around a year now. She told me I wasn't that after the 26th of November I can make an appt. I said fine can I make one for the 2nd of December and then she said no cuz the schedules aren't up yet. This is terrible customer service. I confirmed my appt twice with them and one being the day before my appt. Why was this not brought up then and why didn't they tell me when I was making the appt in the first place? I went to Lens Crafters to get glasses in about an hour. They didn't have the correct lens in stock so gave me temp glasses and said they would call when the correct ones were in. after 25 days and no call, I went back. They said I got the right ones the first time? Why didn't anyone tell me that. I couldn't see very well with my glasses so I took them to an optometrist in another place and they said Lens Crafter gave me the wrong prescription. No wonder I couldn't see!! Service is slow. I waited for almost an hour each time I was there just to talk to someone. My advice is to go somewhere else. But if you use LensCrafters, make sure they give you the right prescription. read more

I have used Lenscrafters for years and always been pleased with their service. Until now. I ordered a pair of glasses on May 24. Lenscrafters has charged my credit card, but as of today, August 1, I still have not received them. They were expensive glasses -- progressive, with the latest lenses -- so they said they would take 3 weeks to make. I was taken aback by that time frame but it didn't really matter because I was going to be traveling a month anyway for work. When I got back on July 6, I called. They said the glasses had just come in. I reminded them that I had paid an extra $7 to have the glasses shipped to me because now I was away for the rest of the summer. The young woman said she would send them out that night. I waited 10 days. No glasses. I called back. This time the young man said they were still sitting there but he would send them right out that night. 10 More Days Passed. Still NO GLASSES. Meanwhile they have charged my credit card hundreds of dollars and I have paid the bill. I call again and this time I get angry. I speak with a manager named Jeff. He apologizes, says they dropped the ball, and promises to send them immediately by overnight service. If I don't get them by Friday, I say, I am going on the internet and writing this up. He says, don't worry, you'll have them by Wednesday. HA! It's Monday morning and I still haven't received my glasses. I really don't know what has happened to this Lenscrafters location. read more

Manager Wendy needs to be taken to the wood pile for a thrashing for mis-information given to customers! Staffing levels are inadequate. Lens Crafter's stock is inadequate. No reading material available for the inevitable long waits for service. No comfortable chairs available for the wait - and few uncomfortable chairs available. But .. Wendy did provide me with a cup to get some water from the water fountain in the back during my long wait. :-) ==== I had used the Lens Crafters site to pick out frames that interested me. The Champaign office did NOT have any of them. Some of those stylish frames were in the $110 price range. The stylish frames at the Champaign store seem to start at $159. Wendy told me at the get-go that they only offer the frames they have in stock! That was surprising given that this is store is part of the larger franchise. I can't order a frame? I have to drive to Indiana, Springfield .... to get service on a frame the local store doesn't have in stock? ==== I arrived at the store at 11 am on a Saturday and immediately - from previous experiences at this store - went to put my name on the list to have my current glasses adjusted. Wendy - the apparent manager at the time - told me it would be a 10 minute wait. And she kept telling me and others it was a 10 minute wait.... I was the next on the list.. And..she said... there was an additional person who would be joining the staff soon. That person didn't come on board until almost 1 pm! I finally was able to be with someone after well over an hour. When I said I wanted my glasses adjusted first before I started the process of purchasing new glasses, the person assigned to me told me I needed to make an appointment with person x who had experience with that at another time for that service. I explained that what needed to be done was to have the central features of the progressive lens on the pair of glasses I was using marked and then adjustments made based on that. She went to the "lab Manager" in the lens department and he marked the glasses to make some adjustments. I am in the process of evaluating the benefit of that adjustment. Then on to purchasing new glasses - I needed a pair of progressive lens (ie trifocals with no lines) for everywhere use and a pair of computer glasses with "single visition" lens. I was also considering a pair of single lens glasses to use for watching tv in bed. During my hour long wait I picked out 3 pairs of frames with the help of another customer and her daughter -- one for everyday use, one for computer use and one for watching tv. The person assigned to me thought the frames I picked out for everyday use might not be the best pair for me. She picked out some 6 or other frames for me to try on. After taking pictures and with some adjustments of the frame, I settled on the frame she suggested. She was very helpful in that regard! And very personable. Then we began the process of computing the cost of these two frames and the lens. That took maybe half an hour to go through the options on the lens. But .... it wasn't clear that the costs presented were just the LENS costs and the frame costs were added onto that - for the computer glasses which were not covered under my insurance. That took multiple evaluations of the cost. At 1:30 pm - 2 and one half hours after I was told it would be a 10 minute wait - I paid for the two pair of glasses (over $600 after discounts and insurance) and was told I could pick up my computer glasses at 2:30 pm. At about 2:35 pm I arrived to pick up my computer glasses and after some time I was assigned a new assistant. There were problems with the adjustment of the frames. I left the store at about 3:15 pm. I have been using the glasses for about 24 hours and I'm not totally happy with the adjustment -- the ear piece on the left side of my face doesn't sit right. The adjustments done were suppose to relieve some of the pressure of the glasses at the nose. That hasn't happened and the pressure is still uneven on both sides of my nose. So I have to go back for yet another adjustment of those glasses. [I was told that because of the adjustments made they could not provide me with a snap close hard case for these glasses. ????? As for my every day pair, the lens had to be ordered so I may not be able to get them for 2 weeks. And I will need another session to get those fitted as well as to get the current computer glasses fit again. The service level at this store needs to increase, especially given the high mark up. read more

Never again will I shop at this LensCrafters, and I may not do business with their company anymore either. I purchased two pairs of glasses (One regular prescription and the other prescription sunglasses). Both had to be ordered from their lab so I was told it would be 10 business days. I received my regular pair after 6 business days but was told my sunglasses were not ready. On the 8th business day I was going to be in town anyway so I called to find out if my sunglasses were ready. The sales associate was rude and responded, "Well if we haven't called you yet then they obviously aren't ready." On the 10th business day I received a call and was told there was a problem at the lab and they had to send a new pair of frames to them and it would be 10 more business days. Yesterday, which would have been the 8th business day of this go around, I received a call and was informed that they just realized the sunglass frames I had purchased would not work with my prescription. Really? It took them almost a month to "discover" something they should have known on day 1! Long story short, this store is unprofessional and incompetent and I do not recommend them to anyone! read more

My prior experience at this LensCrafters Store had been horrible, but my experience on 01/6/2016 was a breath of fresh air. My daughter was headed back to school and we were under a time crunch to get new glasses. Sean and all of the staff were very helpful in making sure she was able to get the glasses in a very expedited manner. Thanks so much read more
