Great selection of frames, lenses that work, friendly employees. Only problem. They're a little hard to find.

I was a long time patient of this place and everything was fine until it wasn't. Last time I was in for glasses, they changed their house brand and I could no longer get the glasses I wanted. Not a deal breaker at the time. But now they require a "mandatory" extra $45 retinal scan (not covered by insurance and not told until AFTER you book an appointment), and that was a deal breaker. Don't force me into a service that I've not had before, have no information on and go "well, our doctors require it and it's another $45 out of pocket." I have decided to go somewhere else for eye exams that don't force un-covered procedures on you. Editing to add after the reply from the eye place: This procedure was NOT recommended. It was REQUIRED and it was conveyed you have no choice if you want it done or not. If you say no, no check up. If you say yes, then you have to pay the $45 since it's not covered by insurance. Again, this is not a recommendation of a procedure if it is required and that requirement is only told after you book an appointment. And then you have to pay more for this procedure that is forced on you. read more

Used to have good service, but NOT anymore! 1. I was told the wrong time for my appointment on the phone, or it was scheduled incorrectly. 2. I showed up early, only to be told I was 7 minutes late and I would have to reschedule because the doctor has to get to lunch! 3. I showed up within the 7 minute grace period and the manager basically told me I was lying about my appointment time, and I will need to reschedule! Horrible experience and will never return!! read more

My husband and I were blown away by the stellar customer service, patience, and expert level of assistance from the store's Assistant Manager, Sabrina. I have such difficulty finding frames and then making an actual decision, but Sabrina picked frames that fit my face like it was second nature. She was so good-natured and helpful and a pleasure to do business with. read more

My daughter broke her glasses and was devastated. I was sure I was going in to buy new replacements. When I got there, they confirmed my suspicions, but then they took a look at the frames and told me to hold on. They all ran to the back and came out with an identical pair. One of the workers had an exact pair for herself and had kept a spare in case her glasses broke. She didn't hesitate to give them to my daughter. It was the last pair. I am blown away at how thoughtful the group was. My faith in humanity is restored. read more

I should have gone to Rodenstock in the first place. I paid over $350 for thinner high index (1.74) Essilor lenses. When I got the glasses back (with a delay), I was shocked. They seemed much thicker than expected and I pointed out to the manager that they looked like lower index lenses (which cost half as much). The manager said she would call the lab to verify and call me. I never got a call back. I just made a new pair of 1.74 Rodenstock glasses elsewhere, with the exact same prescription and frame, and look at the difference in the photo. The thicker pair in the photo is by All About Eyes. The optometrist in the other store used a hot air gun to bend my frames into shape and ensured that my pupils were centered in the frame properly. He had his assistant take photos from various angles to ensure proper fit, before the lenses were made. The All About Eyes manager had no clue how to do any of this when I asked. My frames were not bent into proper shape, no matter how many times I asked, and my pupils sat too high in that frame (despite being the same frame, the nose pads and ear pads were bent differently). The manager did nothing to fix this, and as a result my lenses were cut off center, and they are way thicker at the bottom. read more

I don't have a Yelp profile, so using my friends so people are aware. The eye doctor was so nice. I just can't get over how rude the girl was that was helping me pick out my glasses. She was a younger girl who's name was Kallie or Allie or something like that. She talked about herself entire time. Every time I had a question it was like she wasn't listening. I found a pair I liked, and she made me feel like I was ugly in them. I know some people have their off days. Which trust me I heard all about it. But I don't want to go somewhere, and feel insecure about myself when I walk out. I don't recommend this place to anyone as long as this girl works there. The last time I had an eye exam was when I got my driver's license roughly a decade ago. I went in for an eye exam and got my first pair of glasses - I guess my vision isn't what it used to be! I was overwhelmed by the selection of frames they had but I was walked through every step of the process, and the workers there were honest about whether a style was flattering on my face (much appreciated!). During checkout, the person helping me automatically applied discounts and checked my insurance to ensure that I was getting the best deal. I was able to pick up my glasses in about a week. 11 minutes ago I had a very bad experience with them. While I don't have any complaints about ophthalmologist appointment and contact lenses they failed with my glasses. They might be a good with cheap frames but with frames that are expensive they are awful. First, they put a wrong lenses in my frame. I couldn't wear them at all. I had a very bad headache and dizziness. They also lost covers for the springs . They never was able to find these covers and it is impossible to find any replacement because my frame is collectible and the brand stoped produce this frames long time ago. Second attempt to fix my lenses failed also. They put in lenses with rough and uneven edges. read more

It is awlays something with the people. They broke my Ray-Ban frames and wanted to give a crappy floor pair and not a "designer" one. They gave me credit another time but I had to use it all up at once and could not use it with insurance. Last time I had an eye exam there I had to do it three different times and it still was not the best. Stay away! read more

I had an amazing experience with this company. First, my children broke my glasses and I ran out of contacts and they were able to fit me in HOURS after I called.... while I had called a couple other places that couldn't book me for a few days up to 2 weeks! Second, the optometrist really listened. I had issues with the contacts I had received from my last visit (a place in southern IL) and he helped fit me with lenses until I found a pair that was comfortable... he didn't try selling me the most expensive pair, he didn't give up after fitting me for the 2nd and 3rd time (with a weeks worth of contacts each time) and he even had me blind test two similar contacts but with significantly different price tags... I ended up picking the cheaper contact solely on feel and he saved me $100s. Third, my children. I rarely get out of the house alone...so when I'm booking appointments last minute...i have a posse of 3...(sometimes Im lucky and its only 2!). The receptionist in the back was so friendly... when my children were the only ones back there she change the tv station (from cooking to cartoons) and helped keep them entertained. The optometrist kept the door open so my kids could stay out in the lobby while I had tests, and the ladies that helped me with finding glasses were just as helpful. Fourth (yeah I know 4?!), I wish i remembered names but i really loved the frames I had before my children snapped them and mentioned it to a friend who walked in to have her frames repaired. One of the ladies who overheard me went to a frames rack and picked out a pair of, almost, identical frames to the ones my kids demolished! I had looked for a good while and she pulled out the perfect pair in seconds. I was so impressed that she was able to help me so perfectly. I didn't have a single negative interaction throughout the whole experience (A total of 5 times- 3 glasses/contacts appointments and 2 pick up appointments). I would, and have, recommended All About Eyes to friends for glasses and contacts! read more

I stopped in today after receiving less than stellar service at Lenscrafters. I was pleased to be taken care of by Heather. She showed me around the store, and explained what I was looking at, and then let me pick out frames. After I had some options, she helped me narrow down the style, and made suggestions based on my preferences. I ended up selecting frames she picked out. Heather explained what my insurance allowed and all additional costs; I felt very informed throughout my experience and felt good when I left. My glasses should be ready in 3-5 days and I'll get a text message when they are ready. Couldn't have been easier! read more

i have never been to this location, but apparently the Danville location understands that their service is terrible. they have no way to leave a review unless you go through google which is of course not working at all either. there's a woman at the Danville Illinois location who has no business dealing with people. My less than cooperating child was not fond of her first eye appointment and I was already stressed out trying to calm her down when i was told if I could not calm her we would have to reschedule. of course she did not calm down, but got worse. We were then asked to leave. Not even given a chance to reschedule-- not that I would have. She was rude and needs to find a job where she doesn't have to be in a predicament where she may have to deal with a small child. read more

I went to pick up my glasses today and was pretty disappointed by their service. I guess once you pay, they don't really give much concern to the follow through of adjusting and making sure you like your glasses. First of all, I called a day earlier than when they told me the glasses will be ready - and they were! I think when things come in earlier than scheduled, a call letting customers know would be greatly appreciated. Secondly, the lady that was helping me adjust my glasses had NO IDEA what she was doing. I was nervous watching her trying to bend and twist my glasses. She just did not seem professional at all and didn't know what questions to ask to make sure I was comfortable. I got so frustrated that I quickly left with a smile and drove directly to Lenscrafter and got them adjusted for free. I must say, even though the prices at Just For Eyes are great and it seems like they are giving you a good deal, I don't feel fully confident and secure in their product or service. I just went in today to pick out some glasses. They have some great Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals and the person helping me was able to give me a few more discounts - yeah! All About Eyes is not filled with all the brand named frames like most eye centers. I've run around town and compared prices with Walmart, Pearl Vision, Sears Optical, and Lenscrafter. All About Eyes had the best prices, but that's probably because the name and quality of the frames are not top notch. The sales associate was very friendly, but wasn't able to give alot of professional advice like some of the other places. For example, Sears Optical, I was really impressed with her ability to tell me what types of glasses work best for my specific face features. I'll update once I pick up my glasses. read more

Love this place! The staff is always extremely friendly, and the doctor (Dr. Lewis) is superb: very attentive, knowledgable, and takes the time to make sure you are 100% satisfied. Their selection of frames is great, too-- a good range of off-brand and brand-names. I definitely have gotten better, personalized customer service here than at Lens Crafters. This place is HORRIBLE! You're better off going to Walmart eye center... The doctor was rude and messed up my prescription which started to give me headaches. When I returned to let him know I thought it was a little off, he told me that this never happens with his customers and that I must be a "poor responder". Even though I have been getting my eyes checked every year since I was like 2 and I've never had any issues! He told me I was wrong but he'd change the prescription just to make me happy. Popped in today to look for a pair of glass that fit under my insurance allowance and without costing an arm and a leg. They seemed quite busy but that didn't bother me because I wanted to browse for awhile. Someone greeted me as I browsed and said someone would be with me shortly. People kept coming in a I thought I'd be there all day but shortly later I was asked to have a seat to be helped. So I was impressed that they kept track of who came in when and was able to keep the flow going efficiently. Christine helped me figure out what my insurance covered and explained of a way that I can keep my contact benefits and still get my glasses for a very good price. I appreciated that so much because I'll be due for contacts soon and the kind I get can be pricey. They'll be obtaining my Rx from my doctor for me and I look forward to getting my new glasses when they come in. Not only is she very genuine, but she's extremely knowledgeable about eyewear, goes above and beyond to help customers, easily understands their needs and preferences, and is very professional. They have a decently large selection and I think prices are pretty typical, but the reason I would never go anywhere else is definitely because of their stellar customer service. My son and I both have a "lazy" eye. I didn't realize how bad his was until we went in for his exam. Dr. Lewis was so amazing. He took the time to talk to me and explain what was going on with my sons vision. He even took the time to show my husband who arrived late. I never felt pressured or as if I was just another number to be checked off for the day. After our exam the girl who was helping us pick out glasses was so patient and kind. It was time for me to get new glasses. I went to a couple places and then walked into all about eyes in Champaign. Welcome with a smile. I don't know much about going through the whole process they were very patient with me and show me exactly the glasses that I wanted. The prices were at least half the cost of other places I checked. Very friendly staff, made it very easy for me to get my new glasses. I'll come back again and again. I highly recommend them. Getting new glasses can kind of be a stressful procedure. They made my experience very delightful and I feel like I got the perfect glasses for me at a great price. I was getting headaches wearing them, and upon bringing the glasses back, I was told, "You'll get used to it." I did not. I went to All About Eyes to get new glasses. Saw the doctor and was given a new prescription. When I got my glasses they gave me horrible headaches. I tried getting used to it, but it just got worse, so I went in again. Saw a different doctor and he gave me a different prescription. My glasses came in and my left eye the vision was perfect. My right eye was very blurry. I went in again. Saw the doctor I saw the first time. He basically told me my vision would just be blurry and there was nothing he could do. I have never had a doctor tell me basically deal with bad vision. What a jerk! I will never go back! read more

Do you need glasses? Do you need contacts? Do you want to listen to 80's music while you are looking for glasses or contacts? Then this is the place for you. Stopped in on Wednesday night with the lady and we made appointments for Saturday to get our eyes tested. It had been at least 10 years since I last got mine checked. That was when I got contacts for the first time. So, Saturday came, and we were running a little late. Why do stop lights change so quickly when you feel like you are late? Well, we got there about 10 minutes late, but they still got us in, so that was nice. The optometrist walked past, and I'm like... I know that guy. And the lady is like "you don't know everybody!" and he's like "hey virgil how are you today? i didn't know you wore glasses..." and she's like Shaddup. So, get the eyes checked. Apparently in 10 years there was significant change in my prescription. I guess that happens. Get done being examined. Go pick out frames. I chose ray bans. I also chose a pair of aviator sunglasses in prescription as well. They did the insurance paperwork. I paid the rest. Glasses should be in, in 3-5 business days. While there on Wednesday, Duran Duran was playing. Saturday, heard a wide variety of tunes, but the standout would have had to have been Flock of Seagulls. You may have seen the eye doc at the bars downtown, he goes by DJ Apollo. Mostly I've seen him at derailled, but i think he's done cowboy monkey as well. The staff was great. I don't think too many people converse when they re doing the paperwork. It seems like old couples don't like to talk to each other. The older lady will sit on the inside, clutching her purse, while the man in some sort of farm hat (probably john deere) sits there with a look of contempt on his face. Maybe that's because they didn't like the 80's music. Shouldn't you be playing christmas music? The war on christmas is real!!! While there a man came in and complained of having broke his glasses. The nose piece had bent. He was concerned that they were moving, the girl behind the counter assured him that they were supposed to do that, then she pulled out some pliers and bent the thing back into shape. It seemed odd that angry old man wouldn't bend it back into shape. Right down the strip mall is a gambling place. I didn't go in there. read more

I was quickly greeted by Jessica and she explained everything to me and even called my insurance to clarify questions I had. She pointed me into the right direction of reasonably priced glasses along with new sets of contacts. She was very friendly and went above and beyond for me.
