This is a very dishonest dental clinic. They charged over $500 to extract a single tooth and…read morerequired patients to pay upfront before seeking reimbursement from their insurance. Patients have no idea about their pricing beforehand and end up paying out of pocket without understanding the cost. I paid $533 for a tooth extraction, but my insurance only reimbursed $119 because the clinic's fees are much higher than what the insurance company is willing to cover. At other dental clinics, you only need to pay less than $200 out of pocket, and $179 of that is a once-a-year fee that won't be charged again for your next visit. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this greedy clinic.

AVOID THIS SCAM, graduate students! I was looking for a new dentist and spoke with their…read morereceptionist, who assured me that they take graduate students' Delta Dental and have plenty of grad student patients. She warned me that they require payment upfront and then submit the bill to Delta Dental for reimbursement. When I arrived for my appointment, I confirmed this information again with the front desk and my hygienist. A simple check-up with no problems or peculiarities cost me $300!! Delta Dental couldn't cover more than half because of Anderson's exorbitant rate! A Delta Dental representative told me she'd never seen anyone charge so much. It took five weeks of back and forth with a rude Anderson Dental administrative worker, who kept interrupting me, telling me to stop talking, and spouting nonsense about the importance of communication and recognizing that these processes take time (FIVE WEEKS!? Just admit that you forgot or were trying to wait me out) to receive payment from Anderson Dental after they'd acknowledge that they had misled me. These people are scammers and their workers should be embarrassed that they stoop to trying to steal from graduate students. Never going back.

I'm surprised not to see any reviews for this dental office given how long they have been in the…read moreregion! Disclaimer: This review is for before Dr. Hans took over the practice, since I moved out of state. Hans Family Dental is the new name for Dr. Broadbent's practice (who has since retired). I give them 5 starts for the super friendly staff and exceptional, high-quality service they provide. I had used them for around 8 years for cleaning and a wisdom tooth extraction. My dental hygienist was Jamie. Her cleaning and checkup is great: she takes the time to remove all plaque through a detailed and *gentle* scraping, brushing, then flossing. She inspects it again and then scrapes again if necessary. I would almost fall asleep during my visits. The office has modern equipment, unlike some other places I've been in the past. Their bitewing x-rays are digital, so they get an instant x-ray picture on a computer monitor in front of you and the dental hygienist. The front desk staff really cares for their patients and here's a story to prove it: One time, I was in the emergency room and ran into Sue. We chatted for a bit and went our ways. A few days later, I got a get well card in the mail with a hand written note wishing me a quick recovery! It's rare to find businesses with staff like this one! They're quite busy, so you have to book in advance. Best of luck to Dr. Hans and the office.

If there is a time crunch or time off from work, make that clear. They can estimate times but some times things take longer to do be done properly. Staff is caring and methodical and willing and able to explain procedures and insurance issues, when asked. Knowing how much you have left for the year with insurance is important in scheduling. Knowing payment option time lines, without insurance crucial. Dr. Hans is articulate. She takes the time to explore various options, even ones she does not offer! Her website provides a base to ask better questions as does the Dr. Siebert -(Suliman) periodontists website (gumdocs.com.) This is an important to decisions that not thought through can leave you toothless, temporarily toothless, or cost more in the long run. For example: If teeth are shifting, will retainers work until a more expensive option can be afforded? A retainer that masks a missing tooth a better option if that is a possibility? The patient must prepare for the appointment, to get the best service and they provide those tools.

She took…read more18 during my 82 year old mother's first visit before asking for files from the previous dentist in Indiana. (We provided contact info a month before the appt.)Her receptionist told me this is standard for all dentists--in my 62 yrs experience, it isn't. She recommended an extraction that another dentist said may not be necessary. Add to this that the assistant didn't appear to be trained and had to be instructed by the dentist on every procedure, it was not a good experience. My mother will never go back, and I cancelled my appointment. Spend your money elsewhere.

Can't rave about this place enough! The location is a bit tricky to get in to (one way entrance and…read moreexit for parking) but the staff more than make up for it. If you're looking for a dental office with TVs to watch while getting your teeth cleaned, this is not it; if you're looking for a super thorough dental exam in a friendly environment then this is your spot. Scheduling is flexible as they're open a bit later on weekdays and on Saturdays as well. The hygienist I had was terrific, Kathy herself was in and out of the appointment but gave me advice and information for a longstanding teeth/jaw issue that I'd never heard of before. I'm not originally from the area so finding a trustworthy dentist who cared about me as a patient but also wasn't going to suggest unnecessary and costly fixes was important, and I've definitely found that! A great little family owned practice in Champaign!

The staff is friendly and at my first visit my hygienist did a great job explaining what would be happening step-by-step. I greatly appreciated it. I got to see all of the images they took of my teeth and ask any questions without feeling stupid. The cleaning was a breeze and they have TVs for you to watch during the cleaning. Dr Martin was friendly and did a careful review of my teeth. I left feeling refreshed and happy that my teeth were cleaned especially after the pandemic when dental offices were closed! I haven't gotten the bill yet so perhaps I might need to update my review after that happens, but hoping my dental insurance covered my cleaning and X-rays. I was hesitant to switch dentists after moving to the area but I'm so glad I did! Highly recommend. Honestly, with moving around for school so often (California, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio and now Illinois), this is the best dental experience I've had. Be sure to call your insurance ahead to check for coverage since the office is not affiliated with any one insurance provider. The office staff is happy to help you navigate this process and they aren't rude (but rather really friendly)!

When I do call, the staff are often rude and abrasive, leaving me feel unheard. They have charged the wrong insurance leaving me with an unpaid balance they say I must pay before scheduling an appointment or before they will submit a claim to the correct insurance, as well as contacted and discussed my information with my parents despite me being over the age of 18. While my in person experience has been great, the headaches I have had due to this negligence often has me wishing to go to another dental practice in town. When I called to attempt and correct my information the most recent time, the office staff began telling me about my brothers insurance and balances. I am concerned about the handling of private information in relation to HIPAA at this practice.

I deeply regret my experience with Dr Standley and wish I had sought a second opinion before…read moreproceeding with treatment. After moving, I saw this dentist for a checkup and was told I needed seven fillings, even though my previous dentist had only recommended monitoring those areas. Trusting their judgment, I went ahead with the work. After the fillings were placed, I experienced persistent dental pain. It hurt to bite down, floss, and even eat moderately cool foods --something as simple as room-temperature toothpaste became painful. I returned multiple times hoping for relief, but only minor adjustments, such as polishing, were made, and the discomfort never fully went away. Years later, I finally decided to switch dentists after living with ongoing pain. My new dentist noted that one of the most painful fillings might not be possible to fix due to its size and that another had a shadow near the nerve, meaning I may now need a root canal ("Doesn't it hurt?" my new dentist asked, surprised. "The other ones hurt more" I replied). I can't help but wonder if some of these fillings were unnecessary in the first place. I wish I had questioned the extent of the treatment before agreeing to it, as I am now dealing with chronic dental pain and uncertainty about my health. I may never be able to enjoy food without pain again, and I'm deeply worried about what my future holds in terms of dental work and discomfort. I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions about their own dental care and hopefully avoid what I'm going through.
