I have been waiting to write this to get my thoughts together. After doing some research on area optometrists, I decided to go with Champaign Eye Professionals. I have been nothing but disappointed and under impressed with this company.
My initial appointment was at 11am. I was finally taken back to the room with the doctor about 11:35am. Clearly my time did not matter. Before you say it...there was only one other patient in the office when I arrived. Also, another patient came in for an appt. after mine to check her contacts, and she was helped before me.
Then, they made me feel as though I had to purchase my glasses from their optical dept., which is not cheap. Don't get me wrong...I do want 'cheap' glasses, but I also don't want to have to pay an arm & a leg for a pair either.
I had to wait 3 weeks for my glasses, but I was okay with that since I know how the labor market is right now, and it wasn't like I couldn't see. I noticed some issues with my vision with my new glasses, but gave myself a week to adjust. After the week was over, and I was still having problems, I contacted the office to be seen to make sure I had been given the correct prescription. The woman that answered the phone stated she thought I just needed an adjustment. I explained to her that I did not need an adjustment. I once again explained the issue I was having, and that I needed the doctor to look at the prescription that was actually in my glasses versus the script that was written to make sure it is correct. She refused to listen to me, and once again said that I should come in for an adjustment.
Now...I either stick with this prescription that is not helping me, or I pay 100% out of pocket for an entire new exam and glasses since my insurance covers one exam a year. Whichever I decide to do, it will definitely NOT be with Champaign Eye Professionals. read more
