It's been a few years since my cosmetic surgery, so I finally feel I can talk abotu it…read more I originally went to another cosmetic surgery place in champaign, but checked out Dr. Castillo's office as well. If I remember correctly, Dr. Castillo was a little bit less expensive, so I went with him. I should have known better, because when I was looking through some beofre and after photos, he came into the room and was quite blunt that I didn't need to be looking some of the pictures ( of procedures I was not having). His bedside manner turned me off... should have been a clue. I had really droopy eyelids, so when he came in to the pre-op room and draw on my eyelids ( I guess to see where he had to operate), he had me clse my eyes, but I took it upon myself to raise my lids, thinking THAT would insure he took enough eyelid skin off. When I woke up from the surgery, I hurt! Drains behind my ears, etc. But the worst thing is that my eyelid on my right eye sticks to my eye. I sometimes have to take my finger and raise my eyelid just to get it detached from my eye. And that eye burns a lot! My eyes are no longer symmetrical. ONe is rounder than the other. You would think a surgeon would have noticed that I did not have my eyes closed correctly when he was marking them up. Yes, it is my fault for doing that, but there's a little bit of responsibility on the surgeon's part, too, wouldn't you think? I also have a very visible scar across my hairline. They had told me about it, but I didnt think it would be a big deal. Well, THAT is until your hair turns white and thins out..... NOW it is extremely visible. I certainly wish I would have stayed with my first surgeon. At least he seemed to be a lot more caring, and I am almost sure I would have had better results. This guy is not worthy of even ONE star!

I recently had a rhinoplasty at this location with Dr. Castillo in January 2019 and I could not…read moreunderstate how swiftly, and effortlessly, the process went. I had great results almost instantly, despite the fact that my nose is still a bit swollen and I won't be able to see the final result for a year. I had everything I'd asked for and that we discussed accomplished and that was my primary hope and goal for this process. Beyond this, I had three additional goals: to find a highly knowledgeable doctor with years of experience, one with a professional staff, and a doctor expert enough to have the surgery as painless as possible (highly important for me, because I have a low pain tolerance). Dr. Castillo met all my expectations, and beyond. My Surgery Journey: Before Surgery (2 years or so ago): I was researching more permanent fixes for the lack of bridge in my nose (I am African-American, female, and it's common for African-Americans/Asians/etc) and I had twice gotten non-surgical procedures with Dr. Castillo just to lengthen my nose and try out the look without anything permanent. I really enjoyed those results and how well he did them, so when it came time to choose a more permanent result, a rhinoplasty, I stuck with Dr. Castillo because I knew he had the experience and ability to give me the results I wanted. Also, his staff was incredibly kind and flexible, which was a bonus. Day of Surgery (January 2019): I arrived for my surgery and was instantly put at ease with how well the anesthesiologist inserted the IV painlessly (again, I have a very low pain tolerance) and how friendly and competent he was. By the time everything settled in, I expected to wake up with pain and immense discomfort because I had had an implant inserted in my nose. (No visible cuts or scars, at all!) Post-Surgery: By the time I woke up, I was completely without pain. I didn't even need to take Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or Advil even once during my recovery. On a pain-level it was a 0. The only discomfort was having to breathe through my nose, needing to stay home during recovery, and not being able to wash my hair and face as of yet, which is to be expected and highly doable for the week. I drove 3 hours to have Dr. Castillo as my doctor and it was well worth the trip and finances. I highly recommend him for rhinoplasty, it is painless, highly doable, and with a very professional staff.

I can tell she is very knowledgable and in high demand! I had a very complicated pregnancy and she held my hand every step of the way. The practice has 5 doctors and they want you to meet them all so you know them very well but towards the end if you have a specific request when you do your birth plan they try to have that doctor deliver you. These doctors work very hard delivering babies, doing surgeries, some nights they don't sleep so I know it must be hard for them..but THEY ALL were caring and compassionate so in the end I didn't have a preference. Dr Reese delivered my little girl, ensured my family was there and even helped me take really cute pictures, she didn't cut me and I didn't tear!! It was such a beautiful experience!! I'll have these memories for a life time...going through the pregnancy was rough and hormonal and scary and I was afraid to do it again...but now I'm back to see them ;) I would encourage you Lillibeth to give them another try it sounds like a lot of miscommunication ...I have been in Coral Springs for 15yrs, your not going to find another practice like them and get all the attention and care you need unless you probably go to see a doctor that is solo ... And even a doctor that is solo may not deliver you because it's impossible for them to be oncall 365 nights a year...these other practices have other doctors covering for them so when it's time for you to deliver...a complete stranger is delivering your baby...Good luck!!

Pushy and impatient to say the least, and a malpractice waiting to happen. I had an IUD placed and Dr. Trupin was in a hurry to get to a birth so rushed the entire thing. Terrible bedside manner. There was no prior discussion on pain management (my first IUD& I have no kids) and had no idea what to expect. I called ahead and asked if I should take anything to help and was told no and that it would just be a pinch. It was the worst pain in my life. The Dr rushed off to her birth without a word and I literally passed out from the blinding pain. They literally did nothing for me and left me in the room. I was left by myself after passing out from the pain. I eventually came to, still in the worst pain, put my clothes on, and as I was walking out the nurse just said "Glad you're feeling better" Additionally, I also had a colposcopy done and the notes were full of errors that they didn't bother to correct saying "Oh sorry for the typo, this ____ actually means this ____" They are a malpractice suit waiting to happen if they haven't been sued already. Had I had this experience being older and wiser now I would have lawyered up after my experience with them. Run, don't walk away from this place.

Celiacs and gluten intolerant beware...this GI knows next to nothing about Celiac Disease…read more Additionally, she is full of misinformation and bad advice. When I saw her, she told me that I have "mild" Celiac Disease. Actually, I found out later from more competent doctors in Chicago that I have quite a serious case of it. Besides, it's a condition you either have or you don't. It's like saying that you are "mildly" pregnant. Second, and this really ticked me off, she said that the local CU Celiac group was "paranoid." Paranoid for a good reason, I would say! What business does someone like she (who obviously doesn't have CD and has no idea what we go through) make such a degrading statement? She told me that I "might" benefit from the gluten free diet. WTH? Any doctor, even those who aren't doctors know that this is the only way to deal with this disease, as there is no cure as of today. Furthermore, I told her that I was concerned that I was not eating enough nutrient-rich fibers and that I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just eating cornstarch, potato starch and rice flour, all of which have very little nutritional value. I said I thought I should eat more nutrient-rich fibers like quinoa, amaranth, millet, etc. She said there was no difference in the nutrient content between these fibers and the starches!! Apparently she doesn't even know basic nutrition, Lastly, I told her that I was concerned about gaining weight once I started healing, a common occurance with healing Celiacs. She said there was no way I would gain any weight. Totally untrue! Although some people may not gain weight (or even lose it), it's a common side effect of the GF diet, as the gut starts to properly absorb nutrients again. I cannot recommend anyone in this town for help with Celiac Disease, at least no one that I have seen. I personally go up to the Chicago Celiac Center for help with this issue.
