This place is the absolute worst. They are incompetent and inefficient. They put my wife's lenses in upside down twice. No wonder they didn't seem right to her. After someone figured it out they offered the botched lenses to her, she was like, I don't want it. They didn't even offer her any credits or coupons, just a lame apology. I had a great experience working with Charles this afternoon at LensCrafters Lakeline Mall. He greeted me promptly and was friendly. He showed me where to look for the type of frames I was most interested in. He checked in to see if I had questions but didn't hover, which I appreciated. Once I picked out several possible frames he helped me try them on and gave honest input on which ones he thought were most flattering. We narrowed the options down to the ones I wanted to purchase. Then he quickly entered info into computer and searched for available specials-discounts. I felt like he was really trying to help me on pricing as I didn't have vision insurance. Charles was also very thorough in the measurement and fitting process. He tallied up my balance, I paid, then I was on my way. I've been visiting this eye doctor since I've lived in Texas. Not only did the receptionist admit to cancelling my appointment without talking to me. After I rescheduled he calls me to inform me my insurance isn't coming up. I told him I was picking up my daughters from school and once I made it home would check on my computer to locate the correct information and would call back or bring in the card. He tells me it doesn't matter it will be self pay. I've never had any place tell me that I couldn't call back or bring in the correct insurance card. I will never do business here again nor will I bring my children back. He is inconsiderate, barely would let me talk and rude. Went there to have a screw replaced in my favorite sunglasses that the sun glass hut was unable to replace. The gentleman that took my glasses said no problem. Back in two minutes. He replace the missing screw. Tighten up the other screws and cleaned up the lenses. When I asked how much do I owe. He replied no charge have a great day. read more

I used to think wearing glasses was cool, until I actually had to wear them every day to be able to see. But I also now realize that a fashion accessory you wear every day, so matter how utilitarian, needs to fit well and look good. That's a tougher problem. LensCrafters has a huge selection of frames, ranging from the very generic to the very fancy designers, which are individually locked to the wall like they're ready to go on a roller coaster ride. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and none of my family--glasses-wearing nerds, all--has ever had to wait beyond a few seconds for their help in finding suitable frames. I've walked out disappointed from many glasses stores, but I've usually been able to find something I want at this one. Affording them is another matter, because nice glasses aren't cheap, even with insurance, unless your insurance is better than mine. Most of the time, they can whip up your prescription in about an hour, but if you want lenses they don't make there, they can send them out and get them back in under two weeks. They use machines to help determine fit and lens placement, so it leaves less to guesswork when getting your initial fit. I suggest buying the replacement insurance for around $37, so if something breaks or your prescription changes in the next 12 months, they'll replace your lenses or frames for free. We've used it before and they took care of us with no problem. They often run specials that make me wonder if having insurance is any better, and if you get on their email list, you'll hear about them without having to saunter past in the mall. They're downstairs right by Macy's at Lakeline Mall, if you're circling outside trying to figure out where to park. If your glasses ever get out of adjustment or spring a screw, you can dart in and they'll adjust them for you free of charge. Good customer service. read more

I bought a new pair of glasses 3 weeks ago. The salesperson asked if I wanted blue light filter on the lenses, and I asked if that was the coating that gave a yellow tinge to everything. She said no, so I said OK. Surprise - the lenses are very noticeably yellow tinted. I tried to adapt for a few weeks, but it's really a significant color shift, so I went back in to see how their "30 day guarantee, if there's a problem we'll make it right" works. It doesn't. The salesperson tried to convince me that the lenses are perfectly clear and then offered to replace the lenses with non-blue filtered as long as I was willing to pay more than I originally paid for the glasses + frames. They should write the guarantee on toilet paper so you can just flush it. read more

Went in after getting exam done. Staff were professional. Select was about average, Price wise was happy. I then returned the next day to pick up my glasses. I was told they would be ready at 4:30 pm. I arrived around 4:30 pm and glasses weren't ready. Staff had to go into the back and get them. They didn't go thru the final inspection. I thought my last experience was mediocre, the latest round of trying to get eyewear, the only job they do here, has been excruciating. I understand my lenses can't be done in an hour, but 7 - 10 days? Ok I'm good with that, although took all 10, when I went to pick them up, they butchered putting them in the frames, gaps in the corners etc. Luckily they caught that before walking out of the store. So we had to reorder them, but expedited, right? We are over ten days in and still nothing...one job, it's all you do...and all this while still paying more than $200 after insurance, awesome LensCrafters, we were about to get my daughters made to, I'll go to Walmart, at least I expect this level of service and only pay $50. read more

Extremely happy with the service. Glasses arrived ahead of schedule, fit, and look great! They handled my Oakley order quickly, and even did research to see if I could retro fit an old pair. After going for the upgrade progressive lens (that was less than the standard progressive due to insurance) I couldn't quite get used to the transition nor the edge view. Likely due to NEVER wearing corrective lenses, and yet thought if they are the best, heck, maybe I'll get used to them... yeah, not so much. For me anyway. Sooo, longer story short, no hassles, quick 2-3 hour turnaround versus 5-7 day ordering! No progressive, and love them! Would definitely recommend! read more

I've been seeing an optometrist at least once a year for the past 35 years and this doctor was the best I've seen at explaining things. He was very thorough and able to fine tune my glasses prescription to better than 20/20 vision. He tested for more things than I've seen before and it was more pleasant. Overall I'm just hoping I get to keep this one since I think I'd be kind of disappointed with a different optometrist from now on. Also, I asked Lens Crafters to help me find a particular pair of frames and they were able to find an online retailer that had them. So I can just order those and bring them here to get the lenses in. That is so nice. read more

I can't speak to their glasses, but I can speak to their service. Last night, I lost the screw to a nosepad on my glasses a little after 8 PM. Of course, virtually no optical shop is open until 9 -- except for LensCrafters in the mall. Needless to say, I called and confirmed that they were open and where they were in the mall. When I got to the store, they treated me as a valued customer and fixed my glasses quickly and correctly. I will definitely be giving LensCrafters an opportunity to make my next eyeglasses. read more

Caveat: finding this place was hard. They are next to Macy's in the mall bottom floor next to the escalators. Park on the East side and go in the first entrance adjacent to Macy's and turn right. I couldn't find anything on that on the website or Google Maps. Breakdown on my experiences: First trip: Came in on a very low traffic time period (Tuesday morning) and got right in and out again. I worked with the General Manager, who did an outstanding job. He was friendly, easy to talk to, very clear on the whole process. Second trip: Turns out I got the wrong prescription from my doctor. Things were a bit busier on a Saturday morning but was getting headaches and had to make some move there. The girl I worked with did a great job, recognized the name of my eye doctor, and got me squared away quickly (and for free). Really don't know how it could have been improved. I think your mileage may vary when they're really busy but I at least coming in when I did, but my experience left nothing to be desired. read more

I would not recommend this LensCrafters to anyone. My order for new glasses came back wrong. Wanted transition bifocals but came back without the transition what I ordered. On original order sheet shown transition requested but counter person said it was not mentioned. Denied being told and charged me more for the order. My Insurance also said what I should have paid but was charged more. Store clerk too quick to sell you glasses and not paying attention to details. Looked at my old glasses and saw my bifocals were transition glasses. Not going back. read more

We had the best experience at this location. Adrian was extremely knowledgeable, patient and got all our insurance information right the first time. We even got both of our kiddo's glasses the same day in under an hour. I'd also like to say that the LensCrafters customer care line is extremely helpful as well. I had gone into this location earlier in the same day and was given info that I knew was incorrect by another associate. I contacted customer care who confirmed that the associate was wrong and told me to call back if that associate continued to "bite back". It's nice to know that LensCrafters has their customer's backs. Luckily, I didn't need to call the customer care line as when we returned we were helped by Adrian and he was so awesome. This location also had a great selection of frames. In fact the frames that my oldest wanted was actually $10 cheaper at this location than the Target Optical and we got them the same day whereas with Target Optical we were going to have to wait days to receive them. read more

The eye vision center next door, I highly DO NOT recommend! I had got an exam that litterally took about 5 minutes! I ended up going back 3 more times because I had a concern and problem with my eyes. Dr. Fuller wouldn't listen to my concerns. I ended up seeing another doctor that turned out to be Awesome and listened to my concerns. I ended up having an infection in my eyes. Been a customer for the last three years, at this location. The first two times I was very impressed and happy with the service and quality of the glasses. I was in about two weeks ago and was help by a guy that seemed like he wanted me done and gone as quickly as possible so he could go back to looking at himself in the mirrors. We were helped briefly by a manager and I orders a pair of glasses. Fast forward to picking them up, we called to check on the status of the glasses and were they had just arrived and they would get on them quickly so I could come in. I called two hours later to check if they were ready, was told they had it been touched and it would be tomorrow. When I finally went in to get them the same guy, long hair and glasses basically says here you go come back if they don't fit right. Terrible service this time for the price you pay for glasses. This past visit went much better, service was good and my glasses got to me much quicker than normal. read more

Not certain where these negative reviews are coming from. I've purchased prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses for my son and prescription glasses for myself, so three total in the last two months. I received excellent customer service from the two salespersons who helped us, and Joe especially did an outstanding job of helping us make our selections and answering our questions. That's when expectation is exceeded. I have my favorite Armani glasses for a while and got one glass damaged. It looked up Ebay, Amazon, Google....no glass replacement for this model and that model glasses is not any more manufactured by Armani. I looked up lens professionals around and found among them glass crafters the nearest to my office. Specialist switched me to her manager and he was very helpful. I've left my glasses and was promised to get a call when ready. I was curious how they ensure new glass (left side) will match the right side. Just got my glasses back. Unbelievable! Perfect match! They also provided Armani brand glass case. Business is highly recommended as professional and polite. Lenscrafters used to provide glasses in under an hour, now they can't produce a pair of glasses in under a week. I asked on purpose how long it would take to receive my glasses and was assured I would have them Friday (in time for my vacation) I called multiple times throughout the week, speaking with employees who couldn't care less about me or any customer for that matter. Today I was informed they will not be ready until Tuesday and she didn't ever sound confident about that, too little, too late. Thanks for nothing. Next time I'll go somewhere else. LensCrafters took $800.00 no glasses, no return phone call and nobody cares. I understand we are in unusual circumstances but I do not let my Clients be treated this way. I have now just filled out my second Monkey surveys that is supposed to make the delivery happen by mail within 10 days. This is a joke. This place could care less concerning customer service. This will be the last $800.00 I spend at this place. Is it not unusual that you pay first and get glasses whenever if ever. I've purchased prescription glasses and sunglasses from this LensCrafters location several times in the past few years but my most recent experiences have been the worst. My husband and I went in to LensCrafters last August so we could each get a new pair of glasses. We were lucky enough to have a salesperson who seemed genuinely interested in helping us find the best glasses to fit our face, so it took a little while. He bantered with us and it was a good ol' time. Then it came time to pay. I have pretty fabulous vision insurance and pay extra each month so it covers more when it comes time to get glasses, so I was shocked when my bill for two pairs of glasses was over $500. "Are you sure?!" I asked. "Oh yes, if the system says that's what it is, then that's what it is." "Well, why do I have a copay for glasses, I don't pay a copay for glasses." "Ma'am, if the system says you pay, then you pay." "Ok..." So I paid and went on my way. But I did call my insurance company and found out that I was overcharged by about $135 between the two pairs. My insurance company also told me that my total was so high because LensCrafters is one of the most expensive places to get glasses and many of the extras that are covered by my insurance are not covered at LensCrafters because they are proprietary. So while I would have been able to get something like anti-reflective coating covered at some other store, it was not covered at LensCrafters. Anyway, back to LensCrafters I go to get a refund... So now I have two scratches in one of my lenses, which is weird because I'm not rough on my glasses at all. I don't have kids or dogs, and I don't do any roughhousing, so I don't know how I got them. But I stopped in to LensCrafters last night to ask about warranty or cost of replacement. The attitude the saleswoman put off was really unwelcoming, and she accused me of dropping them. I didn't drop them, that I can remember, but what does it matter - I want to know if I have a warranty or how much it will cost to replace them. She finally looked me up in the system to see if I had purchased a warranty, which I didn't, and was told that I would have to pay to have them replaced, but I wasn't given an amount of how much that would cost. I walked away feeling like I had done something wrong. This was the first time I had encountered this saleswoman, but not the first time I had experienced rude staff here. They have a variety of styles of glasses for men, women, and children, but they are expensive even with insurance, (apparently) have poor billing practices, and some inconsiderate staff. While LensCrafters may work for some people, I will be going elsewhere for glasses from now on. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to another store. There are so many friendly and professional eyeglass stores in Austin -- Do not go to this Lenscrafters location in Lakeline Mall. This store has the worst customer service. The staff are quite rude and have ruined a few pair of glasses after they popped in new lenses. I was there recently with my family and was speaking with some other customers in the store while we were waiting for service. They all complained on the service of this particular store. Keep researching and find a better place! Customers deserve top notch service with zero attitude and this certainly is not the place to get that top service with a smile. read more

I got my expensive glasses, and they were too tight. After three adjustments, and bruises behind my ears, I went to return them. I could not find my receipt. When I went they looked through a shoebox of paper receipts and said they had no record of the sale and could not refund my money unless I found my receipt. I had to go back home, and called several times to let them know I could not find the receipt, and since it was a cash sale, I was worried that they would refuse to refund my money. Every time I called they said they were too busy and to call back later. I was told that they were "with customers" and when I reminded them that I was a customer, they started to ma'am me. I finally had to call another Lenscrafters store, and was immediately provided with the receipt which, as one would expect, was on the computer. They offered to fax it to the store where I bought the glasses. I called that store to make sure there would be no further problems when I came to return the glasses. I had to wait again, and when Timothy finally turned his attention to my problem, he kept stopping to chat with other employees. I finally asked him quietly for his undivided attention. I am 60. This man was about 20. He began to berate me and call me "disrespectful" for asking for his attention, after having spent three hours already on something that should have taken 15 minutes. I pulled out my phone and began to record him, which he told me I could not do, despite the fact that the store is full of their cameras filming me. Once he paid full attention to the task at hand he finished and I left. I have been a loyal customer of LensCrafters for over 20 years at that particular store. Never again. read more

LensCrafters is fantastic. Every time I buy glasses some where else it turns into a terrible experience. These guys make it seem like magic. The eye exam next door was fast and accurate. The Lenscrafters folks were patient and very informative. I was concerned about the price, because I wanted progressive lenses, anti-glare coating, and designer frames. My insurance doesn't cover glasses, but they had a 30% off special, which made it less painful. If you want it done right, go to LensCrafters. read more

Chris was awesome. Came in to the store in a hurry and Chris knocked everything out. He even found a coupon to make the pair of glasses I needed affordable. He knew exactly what he was doing. Someone needs to put him in for a extra raise and vacation. These guys are life savers!!! Over the weekend I got sick and was unable to wear my contacts, but I had recently moved and I could not find my glasses anywhere! I was blind! That was the scariest feeling ever. I tried several places but kept getting the same story "we don't have anyone in that can make these today" or "we can make some for you and have them ready later on Monday." Not what I needed. So my very last stop was lens crafter's. They said we can absolutely get these ready for you today. Just give us an hour. Hazah!! I am saved! And so so thankful for these guys. They were also very friendly and let me know about discounts that they were having, and they were real. The sales man even said if you find your other glasses within 30 days, you can get a refund. That is above and beyond for me. When it isn't just about the sale. It is about the customer and their story. So so so so thankful for the guys at lens crafter's. The lab manager is FABULOUS! She fixed my crooked glasses and validated my concerns while the retail manager, Adrian Echazarreta completely ignored my concerns and made excuses and projected blame on me by saying, "we don't look at eyebrows to tell if glasses are crooked. They look fine according to your pupils". Then he said, "we all have asymmetrical faces so they won't be perfect". These are Prada frames. I don't ever buy cheap WallyWorld frames. I expect to get frames that set well and not have a lens that brushes on my left eyelash while the right lens is pulled an inch away from my eyeball. I don't appreciate my frames hanging down on my left cheek while the right side is up on my forehead. Retail manager kept saying, "they look fine". After he adjusted the third time and the one arm was still sitting 3cm higher than the other side, he ducked to the back and asked the lab manager for help. She was fantastic. Then I heard him treating the next man the same way. He said, "Well, your frames are worn, so they're going to be rounded. That can't be fixed". What a jerk! He didn't validate the customer concern or offer options. He just stopped him in his tracks. I kept envisioning Trump leaning into a microphone saying, "WRONG!" This is NOT good manager quality. There was a red headed man than helped me initially and he was soooo helpful! The young, thin man who attended to me when I picked them up initially was also attentive and listened to how I would be using my glasses and offered very good support and suggestions.
