I've been a patient at Clear Choice Eye Care in Cedar Park for years, and my family has used them…read moreas well, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I went in to order new glasses and was very clear about the frames I wanted. The staff initially only ordered the lenses. When I told them I also wanted the frames, they said that was fine and that they would place that order as well. I agreed and left the office. After I had already left, they called me and said the price would be higher (which I expected), but then told me I would have to come back to the office to pay before they could place the order. At that point the process had already taken longer than expected just to order the lenses, so I decided to cancel the order and asked for a refund. After putting me on hold, they called back and told me they would still charge a $46 restocking fee -- even though the issue with the order was not caused by me. As a long-time customer, that was very disappointing to hear. Charging a restocking fee in this situation doesn't feel fair and left a bad impression after years of being a loyal client. I hope the management or owner sees this and reconsiders how this was handled, because I would have preferred to continue coming here. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning and I can't recommend it to friends or family.

No appointment needed so I got an exam to see if my vision changed. Then I walked around looking for frames. Really not crazy about any of them. Finally picked one that wasn't that bad. Oh, I should say everyone who worked there was helpful and friendly. Once I picked frames, I sat with a woman who took my order. Told her I needed them quick. Normally it takes about 2 weeks, they were able to get it in one week. My insurance covered all of it so no charge to me.

They are also included in my vision insurance that I pay for from work, so even though my glasses from last year at a different Visionworks location are still going strong, I decided to use my glasses retail allowance for some new frames. I heard about this brand new location opening in Cedar Park, so I took a little drive to check them out this weekend. This brand new store is so cool and worth the drive over from Austin. It has a very boutique vibe with the same great quality products you expect from Visionworks plus a unique Luxury Collection for the fancy folks among us. Josh and Freddie (who are managers) were both super helpful welcoming me to the new store, and Freddie even gave me directions over the phone since my Apple Maps was not pulling up their address. A few other customers that came in while I was shopping were coming from the Optometrist office next door, and they also had complimentary things to say about the doctor and the new store. There were so many great styles, and you could push out the drawers below each section to find more glasses choices by shape like round or rectangle. I am typically a wait-and-ponder glasses buyer, but I decided to narrow to something different than my current pair and quickly got down to six finalists. Then Josh thoughtfully helped me pick two finalists, and I was able to select a pair I know I am going to love. Josh also helped me go through each of the lens choices and checked me out. I came in wanting something bolder and brighter, but I ended up falling in love with a more classic, fashionable, and comfortable pair by Kate Spade. The staff seems to change frequently, and this current team appears disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking in customer service skills. In just a two-week period, I encountered multiple issues that I had never experienced before during my many years with this practice. The staff was not helpful, not welcoming, and unwilling to go above and beyond for longtime patients. It is disappointing to leave after being a loyal patient for so long, but because of these experiences, I have decided to find a new provider. The search now begins.
