They can't tell the difference between plastic, poly or bubble gum. The looked at my current lenses 3 times and never noticed that it was a completely different material. Dr Mathew was awesome! My 10yo daughter's eye was bothering her and he was so great with her. He talked directly to her and treated her with so much respect. I hadn't been in for a new prescription since before we moved up to Leander four years ago, so I was in the market for a new, local optometrist. Dr. Mathew is great! Wonderful bedside manner, and he took good care of me. The optometrist working the lobby (Ora, I believe?) was fantastic and helped me find the perfect new frames. Let me start by saying the Dr. Brad and Teresa Mathew who own and run this facility are wonderful people. I had met them during a business transaction and they were kind and fun people to be around. Dr. Mathew is very thorough and honest with his eye examination and the office staff is nothing short of amazing. I got an eye exam and purchased my glasses and frames here. I have been getting eye exams for years and ordering my glasses online for years and got used to the "online prices" so I did have a little sticker shock when I was presented the bill.I felt it was to high until I put my glasses on......Did you know that the sky is really blue? Hahahahaha I kid but where I had been squinting at my computer I could see clearly! I also do bible research and several of the study bibles I use have very small print and I have had a difficult time reading them, not anymore! I was reading the smallest font I have read in years. Now I am 65 and wear progressive lenses and these were also transition lenses that are very thin and light. In short, if you are buying your glasses online give Dr Mathew a try, if only once and you decide what clear vision is worth to you! I've had my second annual check up yesterday and I thought I'd leave a review. Ora (sorry if misspelled) helped me out with finding my glasses. I'd asked to salvage my old frames to save money but she was very helpful in pointing out that my insurance actually covered new frames and that it was an opportunity to get some more modern ones and was extremely thorough in helping my try several until I had the perfect ones. As a typical man I appreciated having the help of a woman with great taste to help narrow down a style that suited me. I mentioned that perhaps I should toss the old glasses out and she had another great suggestion to save them for next visit to make some prescription sun glasses. Genius! She was also very thoughtful about the frames and lenses we considered in terms of my insurance coverage while still offering some useful options like blue light blocking lenses which for me were worthwhile to pay a bit more copay out if pocket but I hadn't researched before she pointed out. My doctors appointment with the optometrist was also very helpful and he answered all my questions and was very thorough with comprehensive imaging tests and to compliment more typical eye site tests. We went over the images and he was happy to explain in detail what things meant. He also explained options in terms of composition multiple purpose lenses vs single purpose ones which helped me to feel comfortable with my decision. Overall the staff was on point and even their bathroom was immaculately clean. Good experience and plan to have my 3rd annual again next year. So nice to walk out of any business these days actually feeling like you had noticeably good service! read more

After stepping on my glasses on the way to the bathroom last night, I Google's eyeglass repair near me and stumbled upon Crystal Falls vision center. Went in on my lunch hour and was greeted by 2 wonderful women who were sensitive to my needs and helped find a pair of frames I could snap my old lenses into so I could see my computer and complete my business for the day. I felt a vibe and energy unlike any other service provider. I'm so happy with this office and Dr. Mathew. I have severe dry eye issues which in turn also causes a lot of issues with my vision. I always have a great experience with my yearly visits. This year especially I was having some issues with my vision prescription. Not only was the front desk staff incredibly helpful with getting me samples but they quickly got me in for a second visit and Dr. Mathew both listened to my concerns and talked me through everything. We quickly found a solution and I walked away so happy! With my dry eyes we have also been considering prescription eye drops but have been putting this decision off / hoping to find an over the counter solution. I really appreciate that Dr. Mathew is not quick to prescribe and genuinely cares about helping me find a different solution. read more

Wonderful first experience with Dr. Mathew and his team at Crystal Falls Vision Center. Looking for a new Optometrist (or Dentist, Dr, etc for that matter) is such a pain in the butt, especially when you are like me, and have used the same providers since I was old enough to drive. My old optometrist was 3+ hrs away in Dallas, so I figured it was time to find one a bit closer to home. A lot of online reviews had recommended Dr. Mathew and his team, and they were spot on. Staff was friendly and accommodating, everyone was wearing masks and sanitizing between customers, and Dr. Mathew performed a thorough eye exam. I did not feel rushed at all, and he answered every question I had for him. The office itself was very clean. Extra bonus points for getting me in as a new patient when I know exams are booked out til summer. I have been going to Crystal Falls Vision Center for years and I had to go to another Optometrist in another city for an urgent matter since I was out of town and couldn't wait to get back home. The other optometrist's office took some shortcuts that really had an adverse affect with my glasses having crisp vision (I wear trifocals) and luckily I was able to get in right away at Crystal Falls Vision and I am seeing well again. You really don't know how good a practice is until you try another one and realize you've been spoiled for years - I love the staff and sincerely appreciate Dr. Matthew taking extra time to make sure the prescription is correct and my eyes are healthy and the staff making sure the measurements are accurate so my lenses do what they are supposed to - help me see! I liked the doctor, but I asked the woman measuring my eye distance to write it down on my distance prescription so I could order glasses elsewhere. After ordering 2 pairs of glasses online I found out after being remeasured she gave me the wrong measurement and now I have two pair of glasses that are blurry. When I called to speak to her she was very obnoxious. She said the measurement was the same for near or far prescriptions and that is not true. If the pupil distance is wrong your prescription will be blurry. Now I have two pair of new glasses that are wrong. I would not return to this office. read more
