Even if that is the case where they will not allow out of pocket or out of network patients, it was an extremely frustrating phone call with an awful super unhelpful interaction. Dr. Staffier's staff was awesome at his practice and would never have treated any of us the way this receptionist treated me. The least I expected was some compassion, patience, and kindness as my family has transitioned vision care coverage and also just now apparently lost our almost decade long optometrist because they will not accept our plan. Customer service experience not appreciated. The first thing I noticed ... the door was already open before we got to it to help me roll her in, and the wait was very short. Dr. McAlear came out first to talk to us briefly about what would be most comfortable for my MIL during the exam. She stayed in her transport chair throughout, so he had to actually move this exam chair in the room to make room for her transport chair. His exam was thorough, and he spoke clearly and slowly so my MIL could understand him. She felt very respected. They all did everything they could to make it a positive experience for both her and me. I would definitely recommend him!!

I had a (come to find out) really rare infection in my eye that made it constantly in pain and red and watery, and I HAD to see somebody about it, and Dr. Cotter helped me out big time. Professional and super friendly and disarming (I get wicked nervous around doctors, but he made me relaxed right away) I got the help I needed and they were really good about billing. Paul said to me that'if I went to him for my eye exam, that I would still be covered under the VA insurance. I call up the VA and canceled my free appointment, and went through Paul cotter. one month after my appointment with Paul, I received a bill through his company for $200. I called him and asked him why I received a bill. he said I'm sorry but your insurance did not cover your visit. I think it's unfair that Paul cotter takes advantage of military vets. now I'm stuck with this bill.
