An independently owned practice, always very courteous & professional. I have been going here for years.

Dr Robbins left the practice. Very unhappy she was great. Her assistant is also gone and they…read morewere great. The new staff is ok, but I am going to look elsewhere. The co-pay has increased to $75.00 for a yearly visit (just dilated.) The doctor then ordered a visual field test because of family history. I didn't like that because Dr Robbins treated both my parents and myself and never thought it was needed. Not a fan of just getting procedures done for no reason. I am not having any problems with my eyes.

Our Optometrist of 8 years had moved to this practice and our family's vision plan had changed at the first of this year. I did not have the details of which vision plan we had changed to yet. The receptionist would not schedule an appt without me knowing that information yet, despite me asking if we could just pay out of pocket/out of network if needed because we love Dr. Eric Staffier so much. Even if that is the case where they will not allow out of pocket or out of network patients, it was an extremely frustrating phone call with an awful super unhelpful interaction. Dr. Staffier's staff was awesome at his practice and would never have treated any of us the way this receptionist treated me. The least I expected was some compassion, patience, and kindness as my family has transitioned vision care coverage and also just now apparently lost our almost decade long optometrist because they will not accept our plan. Customer service experience not appreciated. Anyone who's insurance is accepted here, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Eric Staffier...if you can get past the front desk/receptionist of Boston University Eye Associates and you are allowed to actually schedule an appointment.

Waited months to get in for a worrisome mole (not just looks worrisome but symptoms are worrisome…read moretoo) by my eye to get looked at. Called and made the appointment, all my info was taken down and I put the visit in my calendar. When I arrived, they could even find me in the system... now they want me to wait another few months. When they made an error, why do I have to be the one to suffer? They obviously don't treat their patients concerns and schedules with respect and hopefully I don't end up with advancing disease because of their horrible treatment.

Avoid this business at all costs. As many reviews say, the wait times are terrible. I waited 50…read moreminutes from my appointment start time to be seen by an uninterested prep person who did a hurried and sloppy initial prescription test, then was told to go back to the waiting room for my time with the doctor (30 minute wait) who performed five minutes of additional tests. The prescription they gave me was wrong and the glasses I had made were unwearable. Thank goodness Costco replaced them with the correct prescription AFTER MY SECOND VISIT where they apologized for the mistake. They had many seniors waiting in the waiting room, so I think they do a fair amount of Medicare business ? It is a real run-them-thru assembly line of patients. AND my visit(s) cost over $400. If you dare go here make sure they are 100% in your network. I wish I had gone to Lenscrafter like my wife did where she was very pleased with the process. AVOID !
