Saturday night, jam packed with people. Make a reservation! Sat on patio and enjoyed the water…read moreview. Dinners were outstanding, drinks were perfect. Birthday dinner, so our friend got a cute card signed by the staff and a candle in a complimentary dessert, Tahini Semifreddo . (raspberry coulis, candied sesame, chocolate magic shell). It was very good But the star of dinner was the Salted Caramel Sundae Salted caramel gelato, whipped espresso, pecans, cracker jill. OMG! I'm going back just for the apps and that dessert. Newport Restaurant Group gets it right every time. I am an Ironworks/Avvio groupie but now adding this restaurant to my rotation. Service was fantastic, I wish I remembered our server's name but he was great. S/O to the Manager, who was also fantastic, I saw him clearing glasses, adjusting tables, interacting with service people and asking if they were okay (as a former rest.owner, this is huge!) and talking with customers. Bravo Sir. You were noticed and appreciated.

The feel upstairs at the high tops is a classic hybrid of elevated dining but with a relaxing vibe. My only complaint is that the space with the high tops is tight and you're always in someone's way. The tables are also a little tight; if you have more than 2 waters, 2 drinks, and a couples plates, you need to play Tetris and hope you don't know anything down. The food was very good. The starter portions are all very generous. We got the beet tzatziki and the olives. The pita with the tzatziki was surprisingly fresh and pleasant. The beets were something I wasn't expecting; I ended up loving it. The olives were phenomenal and the little red peppers they put in there were addictive. We split he Waterman salad with shrimp. The shrimp was very well prepared and was season and cooked perfectly. Everything felt fresh. The entree's were also very good. The blackened cod had a good flavor profile with the rest of the plate. The seared salmon was also very good. My wife had it well done because she was pregnant, and usually well done salmon is done poorly. They somehow made it work and came out phenomenally. Between the service, portions, and food, I'd recommend giving this place a try!

You cannot visit Providence without coming here--so happy I got to try this place while visiting…read morerecently! It was packed on a Saturday night so make sure you have reservations. Location-wise, it's right by the water so you can catch the WaterFire show after dinner! Food was fantastic, OMG! NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER: Delicious! Thick and creamy. DOZEN RAW OYSTERS WITH 10 GRAMS KALUGA CAVIAR: I kid you not, I never knew this combination existed...caviar with oysters, MIND BLOWING--so freaking good!!! And it was only an extra $20 for 10 grams! NATIVE LOBSTER ROLL: Wow! Huge chunks of lobster meat and the nuoc cham aioli and chili crisp definitely gives it an extra spicy flavor kick. KAREN ELIZABETH SEA SCALLOPS: Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. LIVE MAINE LOBSTER: You can have it cooked different ways, we had it steamed and served in melted butter--got 3 lbs for $120, way too much for three people but it was delicious! Got the Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Wedge Salad and Garlic Spinach as sides. CITRUS OLIVE OIL CAKE: We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday so our server Shelby (who was amazing btw!) brought out this complimentary cake with a candle to celebrate for her. The cake was yummy! Not overly sweet, but still tasty--great combination of the oil cake and strawberry gelato. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!!

We stopped in at 5 yesterday and were worried the restaurant would be busy, but we were sat immediately. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with lots of nautical themes. Our waitress was lovely and explained the menu to us in detail. As it was our first time at a seafood boil she was very patient with all our questions. Ultimately I had the 2lb boil with 1lb of mussels, 1/2lb of shrimp, and 1/2lb of clams in the captain Loui sauce with a side of garlic noodles. Our waitress came back quickly with a bib, gloves, and a bucket for shells. Not long after our meals came out and let me tell you everything was excellent! The seafood was cooked perfectly, plenty of sauce, and even the corn and potato were out of this world. I ordered the sauce medium and it definitely had a nice kick to it. The garlic noodles had great flavor, a little clumpy but with a little of that captain Loui sauce added on top it fixed the problem. It's not cheap but for a once in a while special occasion treat I can not recommend this place enough!

I always get the pick 2 and select the shrimp with head on and mussels. The only place I'll got 10 fingers in on a meal and let the sauce get all over my face (I usually hate eating with my hands).. it's so worth it. There's a flower vendor lady that walks around fed hill and she'll come by for your boyfriend to buy you flowers too ladies haha! My boyfriend got the fish and chips w/cajun fries and he said it was better than when we visited Newport.

First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Exceptional circumstances aside, this restaurant is also exceptional when it comes to the quality of their food and service. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Providence!

Benjamin's Easter Buffet 2025…read more I don't normally leave bad reviews but this felt necessary. Let me paint you a picture of Easter at Benjamin's: My family of 9 adults had a reservation for their 3pm seating. When we arrived a little before 3, we had to wait in a line that was out the door of the restaurant and down a long hotel hallway. We were pretty far down, and as we came in people were wishing us luck or calling other restaurants to see if they could go there instead. It was like being on the RMS Titanic- a foreboding sense of inevitable danger ahead. We were worried about our 3 elderly family members being able to stand in line, but luckily the line started moving after 10 minutes or so. When my party got to the front, we were seated. They did not ask if we had a reservation- just led us to a table. Half our group was cut off by another party that just arrived, claiming they had priority because they had a reservation. Hah! So did everyone else in that line but okay. Anyway, the rest of our party joined us, our waiter brought out 2 carafes of water, and told us his tables would be going first. He felt really bad for the customers, you could tell. We asked him about the food they ran out of as people were muttering about that in line. He said they were out of garden salad and turkey (because they dropped it, apparently. Huh.) but they were also out of bread rolls. If you're going to have three buffet seatings- have food for all three. So the buffet itself was outside the dining room. They had opened at least one other banquet hall at the hotel to fit people, so they were all coming toward this buffet table. Luckily, we were first in line. There were three servers at the buffet for 11 trays of food so it took forever. The scrambled eggs looked awful- very dry. No one piece of bacon looked like it was cooked the same- some of mine were crispy some were chewy. Sausage was fine. They gave you two pieces of each. Stingy! One of my two French toast sticks was hard as a rock. Potatoes were okay. I went to get coffee at the next table and Oop! There wasn't enough to fill a cup in the one canister on the table. No one seemed to be in a rush to bring out more though. The dessert table had some danishes and another tray of blondie crumbs. While eating this first plate, someone finally came around to ask what the name of our reservation was. Better late than never! Our waiter brought us a whole coffee pot because he knew we didn't get any, complete with fresh cream and sugars. After finishing our first plates, some of us headed back to the buffet for round 2. But lo and behold the line was back around the corner! A family friend dining in another section of the restaurant told us that at this point, they had only just received water. Yikes! We did not want to wait in line, so we waited at our table for a bit. Some of us never even returned to the buffet table. A few of us did head back now that the line had died down. I set a timer; it took 14 minutes and 43 seconds from the time I entered the line until I was back at my table. When you reached the buffet area, they had now diverted the line to start at the ham carving table rather than the eggs, so the feng shui was even worse than before, with the line now stretching across the small buffet area. This time, I got the lunch offerings. The ham was alright. The mashed potatoes were incredibly salty. The carrots were mushy on the outside but hard on the inside. The scrod was fine and the penne was fine. There was a welcome addition to brownies at the dessert table. We could've paid extra for a better dessert selection off the menu though. We were not as wise as our fellow diners who complained and got comped, so my elderly grandfather who was paying for our meal paid full price for this, at $35 per person. Oh, and they didn't tell us about the credit card processing fee, costing an extra $10. Thank you to our waiter who tried to make this doomed experience a little better! Suffice to say, we will not be returning to Benjamin's.
