I chose 3 stars because the taste, in my opinion, didn't stand out to me as anything out of the ordinary, I ordered the curry chicken combo with rice and a spicy salmon roll. The spicy salmon roll was the best part of the meal and was prepared perfectly. The curry chicken was decent and the portion size for the combo was hefty. The meal came with an egg roll, but I did not try it on this go around. My table decided to order dessert. A co-worker and I ordered a chocolate cake style dessert and another ordered the creme brulee. The chocolate caramel crunch was cold, appeared to be stale, and extremely difficult to eat. The dessert did not look anything like the picture. I could barely cut it down the middle. It was the consistency of fudge, but missing the flavor. Lemongrass is a step above a lot of the local Asian restaurants. For starters, it's atmosphere is beautiful, allowing for both a sense of intimacy and comfort. Beyond that, there is ample parking and seating, so despite the amount of seats, the intimate setting is appreciated. They have an extensive menu with quite a few Asian, Thai, and Japanese options. Nothing that's too out of the ordinary, so no points for originality, but Lemongrass is still great at what they do. General Tso's has a perfect spice level for me, but I've heard from some that their General Tso's is too spicy. If you're sensitive to spice, I suppose you should be cautious. Lemongrass has very delicious Miso Soup as well, with a rich broth served in a bowl much larger than other restaurants. They don't skimp on the portions here. We ordered a Three Delights dinner plate on our most recent trip. A bountiful meal that includes a generous portion on Chicken, Pork and Shrimp over vegetables. The flavor is great, and there is a perfect amount of shrimp (I always feel like restaurants skimp on shrimp, so this was pleasant). The only thing that is confusing is that it's served in a fried potato basket, but it's really just a stale and inedible addition to the plate. Prices are mid-range, no complaints there. This was our first time dining at Lemongrass. Upon walking in, we were very impressed with the modern decor and all the color changing lights they had throughout the restaurant. We were seated promptly, and the service was great. I never would have known about this place had I not posted a forum on here asking who had the best Nime Chow in the area. We started with Nime Chow (which was excellent) & the Ocean State Sushi Roll (8 pcs. Alaskan king crab, avocado, cucumber inside, w/ pepper tuna outside & mango sauce). For dinner, I decided on Shrimp Pad Thai (6 huge shrimp) and my husband had Spicy Shrimp w/ Lemongrass and Basil Fried Rice w/ Shrimp. Everything was pretty good; however, we both felt the sushi was a bit of a challenge to keep from falling apart. We have our party here for consecutive years but their service is the worst all the timeS It's an all you can eat buffet but they're very slow in refilling the food that make other guests hungry. They offer all kinds of Asian dishes including Chinese, Cantonese, Thai, Vietnamese and have a Sushi bar for those who appreciate Sushi. Sampled today was two Luncheon combinations. The L3 (Hunan Chicken) and the L7 (Curry Chicken Thai Style) both came with your choice of Fried or white rice, and Chicken Wings (Drum & Wing) Lastly we figured a Cambodian Lot was a nice way to start the meal. The Cambodian lot is wrapped in an egg roll shell, that similar to a spring roll, it is filled with ground pork. What is seen as a Cambodian delicacy, is a light, and tasty appetizer to kick things off with. Would recommend. The Hunan Chicken, clearly fresh- had that classic Hunan taste that you would be expecting, plenty of mushrooms and broccoli to go with it. Hunan Chicken is always marked Spicy on the menu, but this Hunan Chicken didn't pack much heat. Regardless of that fact, it was very good. The white rice an wings both receive nice marks as well. The Curry Chicken Thai Style was super flavorful, slightly spicy, with plenty of sauce. Chalk full of veggies and mushrooms, it was good and would certainly be recommend. The chicken pad thai is pretty delicious and they give a generous portion. We also order the shrimp with vegetable combination meal and it was ok. The fried rice is rather bland with really nothing in it. The egg roll was meh and the portion of the shrimp with vegetable was small. Sadly tonight I dined at Lemongrass. This makes 5 times since June of this year. Every time I have ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. The first Pad Thai was one of the best I had ever had. Likewise with the second and third time. The 4th Shrimp Pad Thai I ordered for takeout fell well short of my initial experiences. It did not have the spice and flavor of the previous three. Tonight's order was truly not good. The shrimp were over cooked, small and dry. The normally wonderful noodles were long thin spaghetti. Since when are Italian spaghetti part of a classic Thai street food. I'm disappointed and expressed my feelings to our waitress. She offered me something else from the menu but in all honesty, I didn't want anything else. I just wanted the flavorful spicy Shrimp Pad Thai I had had previously. Time to update this review! I last went in 2013, and I stopped by this time when in town for lunch, on a Saturday. I ordered the beef with peppers, and it came with onions and green and red peppers. The combination plate also comes with fried rice (lunch combos are available Mondays through Fridays only), but no soup. My cousin ordered a small hot and sour soup, though, along with some sushi, and the soup was huge! And also tasty (I tried a bit). The fried rice was very delicious, as was my meal. My mom got the chicken with lemongrass, and it was more of a Thai dish, and a bit too spicy for me, but also tasty. Service was quick and efficient, as well. My aunt lives 5 minutes, if that, from Lemongrass, so I'll probably be back in the future next time I'm in RI. read more

Do you ever have one of those days where you are craving everything? It happens I was craving noodles and sushi at once, so Lemongrass met that craving! The food came out nice and fresh and was delicious. We happened to order the Cambodian lot (equivalent to egg rolls) and it was so yummy! Love this place. We come in on Tuesday or Wednesday night once a week to see our favorite bartender...Jackie! She makes the best scorpion bowls ever. Gotta order top shelf though so we don't have a hangover the next morning. Good sushi, great spring rolls, delicious lo mein and the crispy chicken wings are the best around. The sweet crispy pork is yummy too. Also the AC3 is great and you can substitute the regular wings for crispy wings (extra charge though) and it's GF! Order any of this and you won't be disappointed. I'm on the board of a charitable organization, and we held a planning meeting and dinner here in November to scout out Lemongrass for our Christmas party and Toy Collection. Lemongrass is very easy to get to, being on a main road and all, and it has a ton of parking. The bar and dining rooms are very elegant, and the banquet rooms are huge. We dealt with the owner and the banquet manager (Penelope) and found them both to be very easy to work with. We sampled some of their menu at our planning meeting- a few pu pu platters, a dish of lo mein, and a big platter of Nim Chow (Cambodian spring rolls). We loved everything. For our Christmas Party, we went with one of their All You Can Eat Buffet options. These plans have a 30-person minimum with a three-tiered pricing structure of $14, $15, or $18. The $18 includes 4 kinds of sushi plus edamame, Boneless Spare Ribs, Sticky Sauce Chicken Wings, Young Chow Fried Rice, Chicken with. Vegetables, Pork Lo Mein, String Bean w. Garlic Sauce, Sesame Chicken (white meat), and Tea (they only offer instant coffee). Even with the 18% gratuity added, the cost per person was super reasonable. We had our party last night, and hosted 49 guests. Lemongrass did a tremendous job! The food was great, the bar service was great, and the room looked great. Wen, the bar manager, helped us whenever we needed something, like an extra table for checking in the crowd, setting up tables for the toy donations, turning up the thermostat, or turning down the music. There was plenty of food- the hot trays were loaded up, trays of sushi came parading out of the kitchen. Things were regularly replenished. We'll be back again, that is a "definite". read more

Overall, I have no complaints about Lemongrass. The service is good and everything I have eaten here as been delicious thus far. The nime chow was tasty, the sesame chicken is very good, the curried chicken is not quite what I expected but it was delicious (I expected it to be more saucy), and the pineapple fried rice is delicious, but not really authentic (missing the curry powder). The lemongrass chicken wings are above and beyond the greatest thing in the universe. They make everything else just pale in comparison. They are my favorite chicken wings outside of Buffalo wings I think I have ever had. They have great spices typical of a Thai curry sauce along with crunchy peanuts to add even more texture and flavor. Seriously, I cannot get enough of these wings. I continue to order other delicious choices off the menu, but not without an order of these wings alongside. Although this isn't really a Thai restaurant per se (it has Chinese and Japanese items on the menu as well), it's a very good ASIAN restaurant in the area. It's a lot closer for me to get takeout from here than somewhere in Providence, so the added convenience definitely makes it a top choice when I'm craving Asian food. I have put this spot into a bi weekly rotation... At minimum. The food, prices, decor, service and overall cleanliness are always spot on. They do not specialize in any one Asian cuisine but they do execute a lot of them well. Surprisingly, the standard Chinese American items like the boneless spare ribs and crab Rangoon are the items I find less than average. The spare ribs are sometimes dry and fatty and the crab Rangoon are not always crispy. That being said, I have enjoyed delightfully crispy Rangoons and not-so-fatty spare ribs here but I feel like you have to nail those items down if you're in the Asian fusion game. Everything else I've had is fantastically consistent. The nime chow is probably in my top five fave list of nine chow ever. The wrappers are tender, never chewy. A sure sign that they are making these shrimp filled yummies to order. The won ton soup is a must... The wrappers are delicate and tender giving the lightly spiced pork filling a gentle hug as they swim alongside crisp pea pods in a nicely seasoned broth. Yum. Walnut shrimp is my fave... Candied walnuts atop lightly fried jumbo shrimp with a lightly sweet sauce. Throw in some basil fried rice and you are heading for shrimp nirvana... Tiny shrimp with fresh basil, pineapple and white rice... Trust me. Then let's talk service... Always terrific. They are attentive and prompt without feeling like you're getting the rush out the door. The owner is present walking the dining rooms and front of the house keeping the gears moving. I was so excited to get sushi from Lemongrass last week because I haven't been there since the pandemic started. Never again will I be doing that!!! I've noticed the sushi quality dipping over the last few years, and I should have been a little nervous this time when it smelled a little off, but for all I knew it was the sauces and seasonings that had an odor I wasn't familiar with. About 24 hours after eating this stinky sushi, on a lovely cruise around Aquidneck, the sushi dove out of my mouth in an effort to return to it's ocean home. Be careful with the sushi!!! Every time I crave sushi I end up going to Lemongrass. Staff is really personable and nice, some waiters even remember your order without you being a regular.
