Delicious gelato. Absolutely 100% not traditional or authentic. But it tastes so good, how can you fight it? I don't particularly have a sweet tooth so I ordered a scoop of the the 70% Chocolate and a scoop of the 70% Arabica Coffee. (FYI..Authentic gelato should be creamy and not firm enough to mound. Nor should it be brightly colored or have exotic or modern flavors.) read more

Mamma mia, this is the THIRD time this summer I've lived within a block of an amazing gelato/ice cream spot. (Goodbye fitting into my favorite pair of jeans..)And I hope I don't sound too extreme, but lemongrass ties at the top of the best gelato I've had in all of Italy. Why is it so good? Well, for me it passes with flying colors all of the aspects of what I want great gelato to have. (And warning: this is about to get *very* ice cream nerdy.) First, consistency. Bad gelato has a watery consistency after a few tastes. The texture here is thick yet creamy, so v good. Second- flavors. There's tons of options but not too many as to be overwhelming. And the flavors are strong too- you don't feel like you're getting a watered down impression of a flavor. You can taste that the ingredients aren't just some factory-made flavor. But anyway, this was a completely ridiculous review, but I'd encourage anyone to try some gelato here! (And I'll be back adding some more once I've tried a few more.) read more

The best I had in Rome! We went there after a long and tired day in the Vatican Museum and were refreshed by the gelato in this nice shop. The ice cream had more textures (more creamy and crunchy) than the others we had in Rome, and it was the only one we had with crispy rather than soggy egg waffle cone. The pity was, we didn't have the chance to go there again! I would recommend the flavor of cheesecake and pistachio. read more

Two scoops for 3 euro. Right outside Vatican City. Very refreshing after exploring the area on a hot day. Would recommend any fruit flavor, we tried fragola (strawberry), lampone (raspberry), and mango (which is just mango) and all were delicious. read more

My family and I found this place on our first day in Rome, right around the corner from our apartment. The staff was so nice, they worked with our very very poor Italian to help us order. Luckily one of the staff members lived in the US for a year, so we were able to communicate with him a little better. Also, one of the only places we found that has soy milk for coffee! We came here at least once a day, the gelato was so good, and very authentic. There were so many good choices, I always had a hard time deciding. I wish they had this place in California! read more

I mean Gelato is good everywhere you try in Italy, from my experience, but this place somehow the pistachio tasted creamier, and they use organic ingredients. Best gelato I had in Rome by far! My friend and I had some time to kill before our tour of the Vatican and fortunately stumbled upon Lemongrass. The shop is very modern and sleek. I love their very minimal approach to decor. They're one of the only gelato shops I found that offered the affogato and gelato in a brioche bun and I'm still beating myself up for not trying the brioche! Before ordering I tried a few of their fruit options. I always struggle when places decide to put chunks of whole fruit in the gelato because it gets really frozen and tough to eat. I ended up getting my favorite combination of mint, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. They offered to put a little whipped cream on top, an offer I, of course, could not refuse. WOW! This gelato could have been out of a dream with how creamy, smooth and flavorful it was. The whipped cream was pretty bland but I think that's how traditional whipped cream is supposed to be. Lemongrass also offers free wifi with purchase (password on the bottom of your receipt) which was perfect while we were waiting for the tour. I wish we would have had more time in Rome to stop by more than once! read more

Lemongrass was gelato we found on Ottaviano on the way to and from the Vatican. We had to stop here twice. Wonderful gelato flavors were the pistachio with salted chopped and whole pistachios, and the namesake flavor, which consisted of white chocolate, lemon crema, topped with candied pralines. The other outstanding flavor was dark chocolate orange topped with candied oranges, and the black cherry topped with massive cherries. Mmmmmmm! read more

Excellent gelato! They don't have 50 plus flavor a, but the approximately 20 or so flavors are excellent. The dairy free Lemongrass is great! There are many in the City of Rome, but this is certainly one of the best. The staff is friendly, service is great, and the price is right! read more
