Authentic gelato with the metal lids. The entire shop is GF. Flavor profile is good and no ice. Careful getting to the bottom of the chocolate nut cone since it is liquid chocolate at the bottom (I learned that the heard way).

Great flavor! Cute little spot about a 5 min walk from the Pantheon. Not too crowded. Seating was good too. Very clean.

visited this gelato shop with my family and we all enjoyed our desserts. The affogato was the standout flavor, with its rich and creamy ice cream that was perfectly complemented by the hot espresso. The coffee and vanilla gelatos were also good, but they were a bit too sweet for my taste. The lemon gelato was tart and refreshing, but it was not as flavorful as the other two flavors. Overall, I would give the gelato here a 4 out of 5 stars. The quality of the ingredients was high and the flavors were well-balanced. The service was also good and the atmosphere was cute and inviting. Ratings Gelato: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Recommendations If you are looking for a delicious and refreshing treat, I would recommend the affogato. If you prefer a lighter flavor, the lemon gelato is a good option a bit too Sweet. The coffee and vanilla gelatos are also good, but they are a bit too sweet as well for my taste. Overall Thoughts I would definitely recommend this gelato shop to others. The quality of the gelato is high, the service is good, and the atmosphere is cute and inviting.

Can't go wrong with this establishment. The staff is great and fun and the gelato is fresh and delicious! Loved the small cutaway feel of this place and its location to the Piazza.

Located in a lively spot in Rome; we stopped by here on our first night while visiting for some post dinner sweets. There are only two tables indoors, it is a very small store so best to take to go. The lady was helpful on suggestions. We got the hazelnut chocolate and pistachio flavors. Very soft, sweet and tasty. Will definitely return.

Gelato is so good. And not all gelato is equal. I see the shops around the tourist spots and I just feel so bad for these people eating average gelato when they can be eating AMAZING gelato! Grom doesn't disappoint. The gelato consistency is creamy and not too sweet. The flavors are spot on and price is fair. Come check them out

I know I know I am from the states and not a true European so there is no way I can know what I am talking about when it comes to Gelato. I know this when I ate the Gelato here it made my mouth happy !

My second favorite gelato shop in Italy! Love that Grom and Venchi are found throughout the country. Grom just like Venchi is ultra mod with an extensive gelato and sorbet menu. I decided to share with him a Creme di Grom. This is their version of cookies and cream. Sweet pastry cream, mixed with cookie biscuit pieces and small chocolate chips. Venchi and Grom, can you open up shop in SF please? We don't got no bomb gelato unfortunately. I promise I'll give you all my business as opposed to Bi-Rite if you do! Debated whether or not to go with a 4.5 rounded down or up, as I gave my favorite, Venchi 5 stars, but I'm rounding up because their gelato is still amazing and you can't get it quite like this back home! Grazie Grom!

Located near Piazza Navonna. I guess this is the only gelato place that only my son ordered because we were all stuffed from dinner. Of course my son got chocolate. Not the best one we've tasted but you would really know they used premium ingredients for their chocolate gelato.

The menu (only in Italian). Be sure to check out the special monthly flavors.

Oh my God, this gelato is AMAZING!!! On my most recent trip to Italy, I went to Grom about 6 different times and tried all sorts of different flavors. By far the best are the Vanilla (SO creamy and flavorful), the Coffee (tastes like creamy frozen espresso), and the Coconut (with dark chocolate chips). Oh man, I'm drooling just writing this review right now. The friendly employees mix up the gelato fresh in the 'gelato laboratory' in the back room (you can watch them if you are lucky). They give generous scoops and you get up to 2 flavors in the smallest size. The smallest cup / cone costs about 2 Euros. You can get your gelato in either a cup or a cone. They also had additions like whipped cream and wafer cookies if you wanted to add that on. Watch out because the line will most likely be out the door with locals waiting their turn for a sweet treat and it moves slowly. You have to pay first at the register then tell the scooper what you want. Grom uses fresh and "real" ingredients so the flavors really shine through. My husband isn't a huge fan of this place but I am absolutely bonkers for it. The gelato here tastes so fresh, homemade and unprocessed and that really lets the natural flavors shine through. The menu is in Italian only so it's best to brush up on your food words if you speak a different language. Or you can be adventurous and just order whatever and see what you get! I did that once and it was fun. All of the flavors I tried were phenomenal, strong and yummy. This is a gourmand's ice cream Heaven.

Right by Piazza Navona. I got 2 small cones for 10.20€ The gelato is so creamy and sticky. The cone is dipped in dark chocolate. I loved the Pistachio flavor. We also had the Hazelnut Nougat which tasted very milky. Didn't taste like hazelnut at all. I'd definitely recommend coming here to grab a cone and sitting by the fountain on the Piazza during the day time or night time. Occasionally there will be people playing music.

Best. Gelato. Of. All. Time. On my last night in Rome, I was in the area of Grom. Somebody from back home texted a member of my group and said that we had to try it, so it was instantly added to my list of things to do that day by any means. I was exhausted from my travels, but was DETERMINED to try this gelato. And I am SO SO SO glad that I did. While waking into Grom on the cobblestones of Rome, you look up and see the bougie sign and the clean interior, and don't really expect a particularly authentic experience. Don't let the innovations fool you- Grom makes their gelato with an age old machine that the owners grandfather used to make gelato with way back in the day. This machine is the KEY to perfect gelato. I was traveling with a group, and only had a quick minute to grab my gelato and take off. The staff was very speedy and efficient, all while remaining super friendly. I ordered the cantaloupe sorbet (can we please make this a thing in the states?!?!), large of corse. The gelato was scooped up and handed to me while I stared it with googley eyes and a growling stomach. This gelato was FANTASTIC. The consistency was the perfect middle ground between icy and creamy, and the flavor was so fresh and naturally sweet. It was the best cantaloupe flavor I've ever experienced. I loved this gelato SO much that I even finished my friends half eaten cup! This was undeniably the beat gelato in Rome. This was one of the two places that I will most DEFINITELY be returning to on my next Roman adventure.

I thought it would be a great idea to pick up some gelato while we sit at Piazza Navona. My wife and I would give Tiramisu a whirl, can't go wrong with that. I'm not a big coffee drinker but tiramisu from this place did not taste like tiramisu. It wasn't strong as I thought and was actually lacking in flavor. Price was €2.50 for a small cone. Service was good. I just wished that I chose a better flavor. Well on to the next place.

Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.

The did have some interesting flavor combos lined up for us to try, but I went with the flavors I craved. Everything was tasty and creamy, and the serving sizes were generous. They offered whipped cream on top of each portion as well, which we passed on, the gelato was yummy and creamy enough without the added cream. The shop is tiny (explains the line) but clean, and they do a good job of labeling each of the vats of gelato they have on display. Definitely a winner, and seemed to be quite popular with locals.
