This is our absolute favorite gelato spot in Rome. And believe me- we tried a lot of them! It's fresh and delicious. They also have gelato making classes before they open. They are super fun and friendly. We took a class and enjoyed gelato! The salted pistachio is my favorite!! It is a must try. This gelato is kept in metal tins under counter level and is covered with a lid. This means the gelato is being stored at the correct temperature. A lot of places use bright colors (dyes) and piles of gelato (means they are using lots of vegetable fats and emulsifiers to stop the gelato from melting) to attract tourists. Came here for a gelato making class, and it was awesome! Though the store was closed, we still had a great time and learned lots of cool stuff. Our instructor was very nice and was very helpful. This is a really delicious Gelateria. I love the fresh flavors and the option to get fresh whip cream on top. There are many places while in Rome to get gelato and this is one of my favorites. Look for the places that have gelato in the tin cans or containers, this is how you know that gelato is fresh and ready to go. Do not be tempted by the gelato that looks visually appealing and is piled up in the glass. This does not actually equate to better gelato. Give this place a try, and you will be glad that you did! The location is close to hotels and other shopping areas. Service is good and the staff is friendly. You can tell that they have mastered the craft of making gelato. Since this place is named Pistacchio afterall, I knew I had to get that as one of my flavors. Definitely true to a real pistachio taste with a dark murky green color. A gelato is not legit if the colors are bright --FYI. In addition, I also paired it with the Milk flavor, which made my ice cream very wholesome and yummy! Such a cute little gelato shop! The decor is adorable - I mean they use a vintage VM for part of their store. I thought the VM camper was just there for decor... but after I ordered my gelato, the employee walked through it to the front because that's where the register is located. Such a neat idea! One thing to keep in mind is that there isn't any seating so its more so a grab-and-go type of place but that isn't too unusual when it comes to dessert. Not only is the shop just super cute, the gelato is also delicious. I highly recommend ordering the milk cream or at least trying it out. It was a cold day and gelato was called for. When is gelato ever NOT called for when in Rome? I tried the Persiana but was not in love, opting for the Alexander and Pistacchio on a cone. I was in love with the Pistachio but not the Alexander. I would definitely come back and try the Salted Pistachio and other flavors. My favorite gelato spot in Rome that I found! (Obviously there are too many to try!) one of my favorite flavors is their salted pistachio! Never heard of that before this place, but I loved it! They also have regular pistachio, but the extra salt truly brings out the flavor in my opinion. It's a smaller location but so cute with the decor. The staff is so friendly and kind- especially to us travelers! I also really liked their hazelnut chocolate! The two paired really well with each other, but I'm sure you will find the flavors that you enjoy the most. I also tried it with their crepe and they make that fresh for you. You can pick two flavors of gelato to scoop on top of the crepe. Delish! I miss this place already! Wish you were in the states. read more

My friend and I are in Rome on vacation and came here tonight after dinner. It was really hot today and this place hit the spot. It's a cute little gelato shop with the cashier sitting in the front of an old VW bus. They had about 20-25 different flavors. We each got a medium size which was €3.50. I chose milk chocolate and my friend got the Persian flavor. My gelato was absolutely delicious. It was rich and creamy without being overly sweet. I quickly devoured it. The one my friend got was pistachio flavor with rose and cardamom in it. She said it was some of, if not the, best gelato she ever had. We will be back there tomorrow to have some more. read more

BEST FREAKING GELATO IN ROME! And, I ate Gelato EVERY day while I was there, sometimes TWICE a day. This place is AMAZING! The texture is so creamy and perfect and the flavors are unique and tasty. This is the place where I found my favorite gelato flavor, the Persian. I can't even remember exactly what was in it, but it was a combo of pistachio and rose and cardamom or something like that. I also tried the chocolate and wow. WHY is it that chocolate gelato just completely is amazing and chocolate ice cream is just meh? Anyway, when I consider that I will probably never get to have this gelato again, I'm absolutely devastated. They don't have as many gelato flavors as some of the other shops nearby but what they are serving up is a very natural tasting gelato made with quality ingredients. It was a hot day, and so of course a cone was needed. After getting off the bus, I passed by this place, noticed the line going out the door, and had to try it myself. The workers were efficient and the line kept on moving. There were many flavors to choose from, and I was pleasantly surprised to see there was both a hazelnut and a dark chocolate flavor.
