I can't wait to be back in the area to come here again. This place was too cute and the drinks were delicious. We came here randomly but it was worth it.
My first visit was approximately 2 ago, quiet Sunday evening. HAD to try a Lemon Drop SO disappointed, very bland, served in a small wine glass, not impressed. Sadly I won't be ordering that drink again. Food was ok Service could have been much more friendly. Second visit yesterday My friend and I were the ONLY 2 sitting in the "restaurant" side Took a long time to get someone to come over. Then realized the bartender was the one that came over ! That's a lot for one person. OR perhaps the rest were on break ? The bar area was packed so I can see why the bartender was busy. I know we were in a bar setting, but the loud conversations and LOUD chatter of a group of ladies at the bar was unbearable! I could barely hear my friend speak because it was so darn loud. The music was way too loud so it made it super unpleasant. Drinks were GREAT( didn't order a Lemon drop ) We ordered Naan to share It was delicious, plenty for the both of us 2 veggie street tacos we yummy We went at 5:00 pm My friend ordered fish and chips BUT they were already out of fish! I ordered another veggie appetizer but it never came. I decided not to say anything since the NAAN was plenty I wasn't charged for it Overall, our experience was just OK. The bar side was packed, but I felt that we were a bit neglected sitting on the other side of the restaurant. PLEASE turn the music down a bit. Thank you
after tonight i don't plan ok returning back :(. i was clearly given someome else's tab under my card, i has to keep tracking down who was helping us and when i had to remind him about my receipt and questioned my tab, he basically had no answer for me. he told me if it didn't change after my bank clears the charge that he can "venmo me the difference".very frustrating. and the music is way too loud.
I always enjoy this spot every time i visit! i'm so glad this place is in alameda. The happy hour menu is great, from drinks to food. I like the crispiness of the wings with the sauces as well. They actually gave us the wrong order, but we were already eating so they ended up giving us our right order still. The flat bread could be a bit more crispier with the crust. but the flavor was there! Now to the drinks, i very much appreciate their seasonal drinks. I love when a place offers this because it gives the customers something else to look forward going back to. So i can't wait what they have during the holiday season. The ghost rider was such a special drink, i was in flavor heaven. it had matcha, coconut and lychee i think and it was just wow! If you're looking for a place for happy hour, this is it. If you're looking for a late night lounge with music to hang with friends, you've found the spot!
Taco Tuesday and $10 tequila lemon drops! Tacos are $3 each with the exception of fish taco which is $6.50 So good. Happy hour is from 3pm-6pm. Sat at the bar, server was attentive and helpful. I will come back again, but earlier so I can explore their happy hour! Cheers!
Came here for a quick bite and had to get a lemon drop while we're here. It's seriously the best, if you haven't tried it yet. The ambiance is causal and almost like an old dive bar that was revived. The servers were all very nice and greeted us right away. Food and drinks came out quick! The food here is interesting! It's a short bar menu of light bites with an Indian fusion twist. There are veggie fritters, samosas and even a chai cocktail to name a few. We tried the chicken tikka masala tacos (a little dry, but flavorful!), the naan and sauce (I wish the naan was fluffier!), and the popcorn chicken with French fries. Everything was ok, not amazing, but still better than your average bar food. The cocktails were light and refreshing like I remembered. It's definitely a nice little spot in alameda that's worth checking out!
We stepped in for a bite. Saturday, late afternoon, we arrived before the crowd. Cool, basic decor but the ambiance was off. We didn't feel unwelcome just not welcomed. Our server was new, it was his first day and he did pretty good. We did have to ask for plates, utensils & napkins, in that order... Lemon drop 4outta5 Good taste but not as smooth on the backend. The other cocktail that I can't remember the name for 2outta5 I had to send it back, it just wasn't for me. Popcorn chkn 4outta5 Nice flavor and excellent cook. The only thing missing were lil pcs of blue cheese in the dipping sauce. Street Tacos 4outta5 Lamb-great flavor but too much lamb, made for a very chewy bite. Shrimp-great flavor. Fish-outstanding! It maintained its crunch to the last bite. We had a pretty good time. #GoTaste&See
Went to Lemon Drop on a Saturday night for a girls' night out. The decor is really cute and I loved the ambiance--it has a fun, inviting vibe. We sat outside by the fire pit, which made it even better. The bartender had great energy and was definitely a highlight of the night. There were a few birthday celebrations going on, and he kept the energy up and made it feel lively. We ordered two rounds of the "Man at the Garden." The drink is aesthetically pleasing, but the taste was just okay--nothing special. The servers were nice, but service was a bit slow. We were left unattended long enough for the ice in our second round to melt, which was a little disappointing. We wanted to try another drink, but after waiting so long, we ended up just being ready to leave. Overall, I'd still give Lemon Drop another chance because the vibe and atmosphere were really nice.

I'm still high on this place. We come in here periodically when we want a drink because it is honestly probably the nicest bar in Alameda. The vibe is still great. Ow that they remodeled they serve food and that's awesome., I don't usually go in here for the food, so I don't have much to say about that. On our most recent visit, they had a new bartender who was pretty inexperienced, but so friendly she made up for it. Someone really should tell her, though, that martinis, contrary to what James Bond thinks, should actually be stirred and not shaken. Also, can you guys please quit buying olives with pits -- it's obnoxious. Anyway, overall it's awesome and you should go. Just make sure you have a few dollars, two modest size cocktails will set you back 35 bucks after the tip.
Lemon Drop, or rather the space it occupies, used to be a place called Lemon Tree. Lemon Tree was a den of iniquity. Driving by, you would regularly see the 'over served' stumbling around and even passed out on the sidewalk. If you were walking down the block, you would cross the street. Thankfully, this unfortunate place closed down, and sometime later, reopened as a markedly nicer establishment known as Lemon Drop (but frankly, after Lemon Tree, there's nowhere to go but up). Lemon Drop has been in Alameda for a few years now, and has done well. It consistently gets a lot of business, especially on the weekends. It has a lounge-y vibe, with plenty of tables, if you're with a group or don't feel like sitting at the bar. The staff is friendly and attentive. The bartenders are great and expertly mix a cocktail. Try the Peaches & Cream, which I hope they keep on the menu permanently, it is delicious. They have a totally adequate food menu, and again, other bar places, please take note: serve food! - and Cheetos don't count. Lemon Drop's food menu includes flatbreads, samosas, tacos, even oysters. You can also bring in food from the Indian market next door; I believe the owners of the two establishments are related. Extra points for them being open late, when most of Alameda's sidewalks roll up early. If you feel like getting dinner beforehand, Sushi Broadway is directly across the street, there's the very nice Asena restaurant a block or so away, and plenty of eateries nearby on Park St. Cheers and enjoy!
Came here to celebrate a birthday! It was our first time coming here and it was nice. It's a nice and chill lounge / bar. There is a bar area, lounge area for larger parties and a lot of tables plus an outside lounge with fire pit. Service was good. All of the bar tenders were super nice and friendly. Drinks were great. The lemon drops were small for the price and the flat bread pizza too but overall it was pretty good. I'd recommend and would come back again!
A very good find. It's a very cozy and eclectic place. We ordered around 8 drinks among us and all of the drinks were delicious. We ordered pop corn chicken, veg bhaji and pizza . Everything cane out very tasty. For bar, the food was very very good. Service was quick and friendly. Will be back again

Me and my homegirl went to the Lemon Drop for an impromptu after work happy hour and it did not disappoint. I heard about it from a few friends and then once it was featured on Yelp I had to make my way over. We walked in and were able to find a seat right away. I loved how the outdoor patio area looked, but we decided to sit inside to take in the ambiance. The neon yellow signs, the furniture, and the TV cove w/ the swing bench gave me a modernized 70's vibe and I loved it. The bartender Malik, I believe, greeted us and gave us the scoop on how to order-- you order at the bar from the menu and they bring it to your table. We ordered the signature Lemon Drop and it was delicious. The perfect combination of sweet and sour. AND THEN WE ORDERED THE TAJIN BAE and thaaaaaaaaaaat was everything! It gave me spicy, cucumber margarita vibes and I was here for it all. As it got darker the bar and neon lemon drop signs really began to shine and the ambiance grew nicer and more crowded - and it was a Thursday, y'all. Only thing I didn't like was there was no food available to order. That just a little dangerous when serving drinks... in my opinion. Malik told us they would be getting food soon so that made me feel better because those drinks were no joke. I ended up spending $146 ($125 + tip) for 8 drinks. YES, we had that many. Don't judge. This is just what Alameda needed! A part of me wants to gatekeep this place, but honestly The Lemon Drop deserves 5 stars. Great music and energy , good options for seating indoors and outdoors. Drinks were phenomenal! If you like mezcal, I highly recommend the mango daddy. Bartenders and servers were kind, no one was rude or uptight and the crowd was and eclectic mix of people. The time has finally come - we have a new bar in Alameda that opened yesterday, August 12th! For those that have been in Alameda for some time, the Lemon Drop replaced what used to be the Lemon Tree. Different owners, but the same lemon theme. A few of the cocktails on their menu are based off of a Meyer lemon-infused vodka. Service and staff: - Full bar with 4 staff members tonight (Saturday). Seems like two full-time bartenders, one hybrid working the bar and helping clean, and then one focused more on cleaning Drinks and food: - Food menu to come soon - Tajin Bae: take on a drink similar to a spicy margarita. Comes with a full long slice of a cucumber in the drink, and tajin with chamoy on the side of the glass - Dirty martini: ordered a filthy martini, came back a little cleaner than we hoped. The olives were pitted, which made the drink a little difficult to enjoy. Would have much rather preferred pitted olives Miscellaneous: - Outside seating: Two tables with 4-6 seats, and two fire pit tables with 3-4 seats each - Inside seating: couple love seats, areas for dates, and different themed seating around the place - There is one section of the bar that has a king porch swing (seems fun, but could get dangerous for those heavily intoxicated) - Shuffleboard table available - Street parking is available - Music playlist is definitely geared towards a millennial crowd (think 90s / early 2000s hip-hop and R&B) - Bit dark inside, which does make it more difficult to read the menus with the already tiny writing in a slightly difficult to read font (please update the menus to be easier to read with the lighting) read more

I'm loving the intimate vibe and amazing playlist. Although it was a quiet night for Thursday, the service was on point. My cocktail was smokey and smooth and the periodic checked ins were nice. Cool, aesthetic bar to grab a drink solo or with others! There is plenty of bar seating and couches, and you get to seat yourself, which makes for a comfortable experience of your choice. The drinks are reasonably priced for the quality, and I like how the ingredients are listed beneath a sketch of each of the specialty cocktails. I got the signature Lemon Drop cocktail and it was great. They also serve snacks if you want an accompaniment to your cocktail. I didn't have time to try these but imagine they're just as tasty. read more

It can get quite loud to the point where you can't really have a conversation. The drinks were okay and do expect effort to find a hostess to order another round. The drinks here range from cocktails to wine and beer. They even have shots upon request but not sure how pricey it can get. read more

The Lemon Drop formally known as the Lemon Tree a local legendary dive bar where the serious pool sharks of Alameda used to compete and show off their stuff. I kinda like their new upgrades but they took out the pool table which is a bummer. I went on a Thursday during happy hour and the service was a bit slow. Only the bartender was making drinks and taking food orders. As the evening continued we had a dedicated server and that helped the service a bit. They had different bar food options and mostly everything I ate was delicious. The best part to me was their playlist of 90's R&B and hip hop. My girlfriends and I were dancing to the music while sipping on cocktails. They did have a computer glitch which made it so you couldn't leave a bar tab open. You have to order and pay at the same time which made it challenging for a girls group to split the bill. However, I will be back at least once more because the food, drinks, and music were perfect! read more

The ambience of this bar was beautiful and chill. I really liked how the bartender asked me what I wanted right after I sat down it was a very quick service that I asked him if he had any idea how to make a piña colada and he made a really good one. Came for a few late nite drinks, great crowd, lots of chatter from groups of people, busy place. But when it gets quieter, their music fills the rooms with good vibes. Fire pits outdoor bring your friends and they will check ID, so bring them as well! Chicken tacos are so delicious!!! And drinks are even better! They've got cute names for the drinks and ingredients are unique. Though their Lemon Drop drink is basic, which was disappointing when I first tried this place out, considering the name of the business. And even though they forgot about our food order (it was busy) I still recommend this place! Anyways good vibes, check it out. read more

a new favorite bar! I found this place on yelp. My homegirl wanted to go out for drinks and this place made my night. They play r&b music. They have a front patio area with the fire going. The drinks were amazing but also cute. Service was amazing as well. I tried the different flavored lemon drops. Saw this spot on tiktok first and knew I had to stop by! It's currently in its soft opening so I'm sure everything will be getting better from here but it's already at a great start. The vibe is def more chill vs loud bar. The fire pits outside set the tone that this is a cool place to hang out. Inside, they've got lots of tables and seating and it wasn't too crowded on a Saturday night after dinner. If you've got a big group, you can hang out in one of the couch/lounge areas or sit on the swing bench while some of your friends play shuffle board. The drinks were good too! They did lean on the pricier side for drinks that didn't feel so alcohol heavy. My friends and I had a couple but didn't really feel the buzz (and some of us are light weights so we should've lol). But at least they tasted and looked good! The music also wasn't too too loud where you couldn't hear the people right next to you and whoever chose the playlist that evening had EXCELLENT taste with the throwbacks. Tasty drinks and a cozy ambience. Will definitely be coming back. I had Belle's last dance, it was light and refreshing. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their drinks as well. We came by around 10pm on Saturday. Not too busy, we had no issue finding a table or ordering drinks. First time at Lemon Drop last night. Excellent vibe, great drinks. Outside was fantastic! I love the seating and fire pits. I did not interact with the staff but have heard good things. I don't know how long the swing has been in place, but it came crashing down on a guys leg, while he was sitting on it. He was in real pain. I was bummed that no one came over to check on him after it crashed down. The man was not heavy in any way, he was not swing but just sitting on it. We looked at the screws and pins that held it in place they just were not hung the way they should have been. Indoor swing should have a t - type bracket where the bolts go through the beam and into a t-bracket on the other side of the beam. Otherwise it's not a good idea to just screw into the arch. Huge liability for the bar, and I would like to come back to this bar I really want to support it. But I would not replace the swing. read more

And another thing ;) please don't fall for the reviews nit picking because everything is not absolutely perfect. Extremely annoying as a new reviewer to see people not understand when businesses are possibly lacking support from owners or highest form of management for xyz reasons. Extend grace, give chances, you'll be surprised how much more wonderful life can be this way. Bartenders, servers and employees in general are human too, remember that (: My time here has been worthy of making a Yelp account and leaving my praise for this spot. The drinks aren't the only thing that have been specially made... I'm always singing along to their music playlist. Woooo! Really gets the vibe going with the exception of last nights (Fri. 11/10) random petite guy with long curly hair, pretty sure he had a beanie on, maybe a white top? (he just looked like he was doing too much with the drinking and dancing). I consider myself a picky person lol but the bartenders here cater to my requests without hesitation during each visit. Haven't tried the food yet but I'm positive that deserves a whole separate review! read more

Every visit here is a good and I mean GOOD time. Top notch music playlist, always in tune with the vibe of the crowd Food, fairly new but delicious!!! Flavors like this are rare, especially in Alameda Drinks, well let's just say these bartenders know what they're doing! Not only do they have a wide variety of options on their booklet menu but they take their time to get to know their customers to be in tune with their pallet. Came back on a Friday night the place looked about the same from when they first opened. The music is still really good and I like the vibe. The drinks were still really good which was great. I was really disappointed with the service however. We were seated at a table and it would take so long for someone to ask if we needed anything and when we did place an order they would forget to put the order in. This caused us to have 2 drinks in the span of 2.5 hours. I really like this place, but not sure if I'll return after the bad service. I will say the staff is nice, but they just need to be more attentive and be better multitaskers. read more
