So been going here for years and have had many good times but last night was the last time. The manager Malik thinks that publicly embarrassing customers is the way to get good reviews I guess ‍! Order 2 drinks (that was some BS in itself. Sitting at our table ordered promptly. Sit wait, party of four comes in. Orders roughly 20 minutes after. Then they promptly get their drinks ...we were still waiting and we could see our waitress sitting at the bar talking to Malik the manager with another employee whom was there in personal time) . My drink is a little too sweet. I approach the bar and I ask "Can I bother you for some sparkling water?" And he stares at me ...than it gets awkward. Then I say "please?" Like a question. Them out WAITRESS the other employee said something to tune of "yeah, that's right " Then he smiles like he did something fun or cool. Like we are all grown ups! This is kids ish'. Who publicly embarrasses guests that have been patrons for years! I immediately grabbed my purse, told my party the 30 second version and walked down and hit Tavern. After My lil' brother (35 y'all) tries to talk to him because like WTF and they are cool. Have been for a LONG while. He damn near live up in there and he never even mentioned it. Just came up with some mix up story of why the drinks took so long and asked MY BROTHER why I left abruptly Bro we grown and this is crazy cause what?!?!? With an economy like this, we are very selective with when and where we spend our money and we have spent ALOT of money in there in the past. Not anymore and my hard earned money will be else where AND yes I will be bad mouthing y'all in there streets until that staff can find their damn professionalism. That's forever cause I have self respect Oh and fired to w mean girls cause like WHAT. Who pissed in your corn flakes this morning. Sparkling water is serious out here I guess. Side note: have had awesome drinks and service here from Malik himself in years past but I guess Bro fighting with his Wife or whatever and now treating women whom he knows has been patrons for years and live locally on the island poorly. Went there last night! Great ambiance, I particularly loved the outdoor seating area. Clean bathrooms, and there was a decent amount of people there but still room to sit. The staff was super friendly and I was helped by a lovely woman named Presley. The drinks are fabulous, they have rotating taps and I got a Guava Cider along with some kind of apple shot thing haha but every drink was delicious! Can't go wrong read more

Trying a night out in Alameda proved to be glorious. Even though im not really a drink lounge person, I am all about a nice drink every once in a while to unwind. Lemon drop was a cool mix of chill, but busy bar...with a small kitchen for some cute quick bites and a large variety of Ahahahahalcohol.....we were there for the party. It pains me to write this, but I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we were seated in the couch area & on the upper level. Lemon Drop is a cool little cocktail lounge located a few blocks from Park Street in downtown Alameda. My wife and I went a few times last month and enjoyed drinks and Indian food while the kids were in school. We really liked the Lemon Drop and I also liked Omashu's Hideaway. Berry Spritzy and Pepe were just ok in my opinion. The Indian food was also excellent. We had the samosas and tuna tartare. It wasn't busy on the weekday afternoons but while driving by during the evening hours it does appear to get busy at times. The bartender was nice and has good recommendations if you ask. read more

I've come here a couple of times before, and each time the vibes are great. I love the atmosphere/ the feng shui is good here. On my latest visit, our charming server Rider/Ryder was great! Our group found him accommodating and hilarious, 10/10 vibe! I got the peaches n cream and he warned me it was very sweet, but he was able to ask the bartender to make it less sweet for me. It turned out amazing! The best part of that drink was the smoked shaved coconut, which gave the drink a smokey flavor overall, which I loved. You can also opt to leave out the coconut shavings (our server says some people don't like the shavings), but for my preferences I'm glad I kept it in. Everyone enjoyed their food--the group got fries, flatbreads, pizza, popcorn chicken. The place was packed Saturday night but the outside area was empty--luckily the fire was able to keep us fairly warm on a cold night. It's always a fun vibe here! I haven't ever had problems getting a seat even if it was the weekend. Prices are reasonable and their menu is pretty diverse. I love their rum and tequila drinks there. Ambiance is great and they have 2 fire pits outside to sit if you wanted to be outside. Parking is okay there's usually parking within the same block towards the main street more. Walking distance to other restaurants, it's a great place! Highly recommend coming here with friends or even a date. read more

Wow, I wish I had an establishment like this in my town! I would gladly come back to Alameda to visit this bar. I finally got to stop by this bar after seeing all the reels about it. It's super cute inside, but a bit small. The downside is that there Is only one bathroom so prepare to wait in line. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors they offer two firepits that you can sit around. This is where me and my friends chose to sit and it was nice and intimate. We were in a group of 10 so we took up that entire space around 1 firepit. I ordered the Tajin Bae which was really good. Super pretty and refreshing. What more could you ask for? So it's really no skin off my behind because I just drink tequila and lime juice. But the new drink menu is confusing in multiple ways. First, you have to flip through a book with stif pages that are hard to turn and sometimes get 2 pages instead of one. Second, it is really hard to read this sucker under the lighting at night. Maybe in the bright daylight it works, but at night it's a no go. Third, I'm a tequila guy, but when did vodka fall out of favor. More people drink vodka than anything else in the world except beer, but that's not really alcohol. Why mess with a menu that works. It seemed people really liked the canned menu. So if you want to do add drinks, then add drinks but don't ditch the old drinks. And if there isn't enough room on one page then do front /back for cocktails and a separate menu for beer and wine. Lemon drop is a cute little spot great for catching g up with friends it tucked away a couple blocks away from park st. They have a cute bonfire type lounge outside made for feeling really Cozy. I recommend the margaritas tho with shaved ice and ask for Malik he makes the best ones. Can't wait to go back. read more

Nice bartenders, tons of spirits on deck, cocktail menu is very unique. The Kingsman cocktail had a smoothie texture to it. It's not spirit forward so keep that in mind. This lounge has great character, both indoor and outdoor seating, and an awesome theme! The DJ played mainly hip hop and rnb on a Saturday night at a volume where we could still have comfortable conversation. And there were outlets and hooks (for jackets/purses) at almost every seat at the bar, which is rare. We tried several different cocktails off the menu which were all pretty good, Belle's Last Dance, Jane Bond 007, Into the Breach, and of course, the Lemon Drop! But my fave for the night was the Strawberry Lemon Drop the bartender made upon request. And it was served in a cute glass that looked like a rose with a long green stem. They didn't have the fastest service here, but the two bartenders were hustling, and were helpful during our visit, so I appreciate the effort. Fun little bar in Alameda. Came here for a group gathering. I'd call it an average bar experience. I always root for new small businesses, but I have to be honest, too. Decor and ambiance leave a lot to be desired. It was on the bare and plain side. Not the worst, but nothing memorable except for the large neon sign -- take it away and it would seem barren, with lots of white wall. I'm reading in the reviews that it might be intentional, to go for the "Instagram chic" look. I'm not sure it quite hit the mark. Decent amount of seating and tables, which is nice. Good music (holiday music, hip hop). Although bars generally are loud, it felt harder to have a conversation here than in others. Acoustics seemed particularly challenging here. Most of the drinks were decent, but not spectacular. Definitely on the sweet side, and I wonder if that's intentional. I prefer to taste the spirit a bit more. For the price, wish the drinks were more memorable or enjoyable. I liked the creativity, but none of them wowed me, and I'd say generally they were underwhelming or average. Not my favorite drinks, but they were fine/decent. I had had a bunch of phenomenal holiday cocktails recently (in different establishments) so maybe the recency bias raised the bar. Also wished they warned me there would be ingredients on the outside of the glass. Others and I ended up with sticky fingers because we didn't expect it. Not every bartender mentions this, but it's appreciated when they do and is a nice touch of customer experience. Thoughts on individual drinks: Their signature drink, the Lemon Drop, tasted like a sweet lemon drink but wasn't anything to write home about. Just a standard, sweet, lemon-y cocktail. Tajin Bae was fine. Interesting use of spices, but it didn't really hit the mark for me. Love and Other Demons was a nice mezcal cocktail. One of my faves. I am so glad we came in here. Cocktails and finger food are impeccable. They have happy hour until 6 pm so we ordered as much as we could. Did not disappoint. Me and my homegirl went to the Lemon Drop for an impromptu after work happy hour and it did not disappoint. I heard about it from a few friends and then once it was featured on Yelp I had to make my way over. We walked in and were able to find a seat right away. I loved how the outdoor patio area looked, but we decided to sit inside to take in the ambiance. The neon yellow signs, the furniture, and the TV cove w/ the swing bench gave me a modernized 70's vibe and I loved it. The bartender Malik, I believe, greeted us and gave us the scoop on how to order-- you order at the bar from the menu and they bring it to your table. We ordered the signature Lemon Drop and it was delicious. The perfect combination of sweet and sour. AND THEN WE ORDERED THE TAJIN BAE and thaaaaaaaaaaat was everything! It gave me spicy, cucumber margarita vibes and I was here for it all. As it got darker the bar and neon lemon drop signs really began to shine and the ambiance grew nicer and more crowded - and it was a Thursday, y'all. Only thing I didn't like was there was no food available to order. That just a little dangerous when serving drinks... in my opinion. Malik told us they would be getting food soon so that made me feel better because those drinks were no joke. I ended up spending $146 ($125 + tip) for 8 drinks. YES, we had that many. Don't judge. The time has finally come - we have a new bar in Alameda that opened yesterday, August 12th! For those that have been in Alameda for some time, the Lemon Drop replaced what used to be the Lemon Tree. Different owners, but the same lemon theme. A few of the cocktails on their menu are based off of a Meyer lemon-infused vodka. Service and staff: - Full bar with 4 staff members tonight (Saturday). Seems like two full-time bartenders, one hybrid working the bar and helping clean, and then one focused more on cleaning Drinks and food: - Food menu to come soon - Tajin Bae: take on a drink similar to a spicy margarita. Comes with a full long slice of a cucumber in the drink, and tajin with chamoy on the side of the glass - Dirty martini: ordered a filthy martini, came back a little cleaner than we hoped. The olives were pitted, which made the drink a little difficult to enjoy.
