Great ambiance. Very good jazz and blues on Saturday night with the open mike. The bartenders are very nice and aim to please.

I came for the so called open mic blues jam but found that at best it was only a semi open mic. I have been to many blues jams before and at every one I've gone to at least four drummers showed up to play. At this fake open mic they only wanted their personal friend to play drums for the entire night most likely because they didn't want her to be upstaged by other drummers. On another point they seemed to have an unusual lack of backing singers. The poser on the bass who was in charge of who could play pretended to be a backing singer by not using a microphone. The other two singers who were being totally overemphasized were allowed to sing way more songs than they should have. I heard nothing from either of them to make me believe they should be featured so heavily. I have been a featured big band singer before and I know a good singer when I hear one and these two were not that. I was told their star drummer was a great blues drummer but I heard nothing spectacular from her playing and it seems she could not sing a single note. In the first place if your going to feature original songs then you may as well open the music up to other styles of music since random people that show up are not going to be welcome to play songs that they never heard before. To sum it up the musicians were petty and the music was rather boring and besides if they are going to give karaoke the better time slot it goes to show they are not taking the music seriously anyway. Incidentally I noticed this was listed as a dance club but that is false since there is no dance floor. I don't know why these people have to be such liars. read more

I've been coming to this neighborhood bar for a decade. I frequent it about 2-3 times a week. I love the food from the pop up vendor as well as the drinks (very nice pours) and service from the bar staff. This place reminds me of the the tv show Cheers, where everybody knows your name. Loved this place. It's a no frills bar with great drinks and Karaoke. Came on a Friday and the DJ has a smooth set up and process. You put your name in an iPad and then you get called to the front with a microphone and the words are displayed on a several screens. While a small space there is enough room to dance, have drinks and the music selection is versatile. I would go again. 8/10 recommend. read more

Drinks are always good and the food be fire. I've had two every successful events there and as an artist I would recommend getting in contact with her for having an art show. I was born in Oakland and raised down the street from the bar. The place looks rough but when you walk in you feel at home. People are friendly and bartenders are very nice. Considering I don't get out much anymore, it is rare that one may find me at a bar, besides 3411, on a fluke. This bar definitely has the hometown vibe to it, and my go-to dive. I used to visit this place more when I lived in Oakland, but since I've relocated and I am living the more domesticated lifestyle, I have been missing out on the nightlife. Stephanie, the owner, is one of the sweetest people I know and she makes all of her patrons feel at home. You can find her conversing with the customers frequently. I love Steph! Even when the place is overly crowded during a party, she still finds her way to say hi to everybody. The crowd is always a "chill" crowd -- friendly, personable, and lots of hipsters too. My friends initially introduced me to 3411 and we've had many good times there. From Taco Tuesdays (yum), to fundraiser events to birthday parties and celebrations -- nothing but good (and sometimes hazy) memories erupt from this place. One may find paintings and artwork crafted by local artists hanging on the walls of this bar, which gives this bar an edge, I think. :-) When going to Taco Tuesdays, make sure you arrive early to get your orders in! The tacos are definitely a hit, but my personal favorites are Korean tacos, Filipino tacos and the Thai tacos. Heavenly! Now I have a sudden urge for tacos...and it's Tuesday! It's been a few years since I've been here but it has only gotten better. A wonderful place that has food vendors on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Luna is the absolute sweetest bartender I've ever had who let me be his guinea pig for the night (in other words I was difficult and said make me anything haha). It was a wonderful experience being allowed to taste different flavor notes on its own and in mixed drinks. That homemade ginger and habanero sauce? You have to try it at least once! You will not fail with Luna as your bartender. The environment is homey; the couches sink in just like your mom's house after a long day, the friendly people that treat you like it's only been a week since they last saw you and the food that will take you to a place you didn't even remember was home. This is a more "dive" bar type of place but it will make you feel less homesick no matter where you come from (at least when it's not busy, which is when I went). Their bathrooms are clean and have single stalls in the women's. I like that they added a patio and lights on the inside. I always thought they were closed before they added them. Definitely makes it a lot less outdated and more welcoming. I would definitely take a date here for a chill time. They played reggae when I was there. Not sure if they play more r&b during weekend, will definitely check it out! read more
