Falafel w Smoked Rice
DiDi P.

Wow! I mean, I was expecting good but not THIS good. The menu is full of Lebanese and Iraqi dishes ! The falafel is perfect- crispy on the outside and soft after bite. The smoky rice is definitely worth every bit of hype ! The lentil soup is my new addiction. And the music ?? I was dancing to Arabic tunes in between bites. Mohammed's customer service is great and I loved to experience his passion for fresh food.

Mussaka an Rice.

Wow!!!!! My coworker and I tried Lemmon and Thyme tonight. Wow!!! I had the Mussaka and he had the lamb shank. He was very pleased with his choice as I was with mine. The rice though! Man the rice is off the hook! We asked and their rice is prepared with 13 secret spices. It was fab!!! Then they offered us a sample of their smoked rice. Stop the presses!!! This place is my new fav. Too bad I live so far away! I'll be back some day!!!!!

The food was excellent. It was fresh and very tasty. The people there were friendly and professional. I think the prices were really good. I like the atmosphere; calm and relaxing.

Small and friendly .... Enjoyed the app. Combo. Hope I can up the number of stars when I try the lamb during our next visit. Nice for an afternoon lunch/snack. Not sure I would come for dinner as it is a bit in the open in the lobby.

Grilled fish with smoked rice and smoky rice with chicken.

This...place...is...AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Quirky vibe in the lobby of a building. We couldn't stop raving about how YUMMY our food was. We had the okra soup, lentil soup, grilled fish with smoked rice and the smoky rice with chicken. We liked the okra soup so much we ordered more to go. And the staff is so welcoming and friendly. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

Roast chicken.

The quality of the food has gone way down and the customer service is completely non-existent. I typically don't say anything if I dont have anything nice to say but I will make an exception this time. I decide to go in for a late lunch. After placing the order for simple wraps and a roast chicken. I waited for more than 30 minutes before the salad was served. I understand that there was only one employee and it was a slow time so I didn't mind particularly. The pita chips were stale. You could taste the bad oil. After more waiting I had to change my order to takeout since I just couldn't wait any longer- it was more than an hour. The roast chicken is something nightmares are made of. It was clearly a fried chicken that was roasted hurriedly. The rice was dry and tasteless. It was a horrid waste of money. The wraps were no better. Never coming back again.

Kibby

Highly recommend Lemon and Thyme in the old Textile Museum in Lowell. The food was delicious and the atmosphere and music was very nice. The whole fish was wonderful. We also enjoyed Moussaka, lamb shank and kibby. Would order them all again!

A hidden gem for Mediterranean food. We ordered falafel wrap, smoked rice, falafel and hummus with some pita chips and they all tasted so good. The portions are huge. It's inside in the lobby of textile museum. We would definitely go back to try more options.

One good option if you're into Arabic food. A little pricey but portions are normally big. Not crowded on the weekends which is extra nice

Smoked Rice with Beef and Beef Shawarma

It's too bad that this place is a bit hidden but it is absolutely a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious and I am coming back for the fish. My brother and I got the beef shawarma plate and smoked rice with beef. The prices are on point because the portion sizes are huge. We eat a lot but had leftovers for dinner. (The beef shawarma was even put in a catering thing.) We took the food to-go and the food was delicious. I'd take someone on a date here or a visiting friend since the vibe is very charming. I sound like I'm making a paid review, but I'm not. I actually loved the food so much. Fry seasoning was on point, too. Smoked rice had so much rich flavor. Just go, man.

Delicious food, very generous portions

About a year later, I found myself craving authentic Mediterranean food again, so I started searching for restaurants around New Hampshire. That's when I came across Ayasofia. As I looked through the menu and photos, everything seemed so familiar--it reminded me of the dishes I had loved at Mediterrano. The next day, my husband and I decided to drive an hour to Salem to try it out, and it was completely worth it. After speaking with the owner, we learned that Mediterrano had actually been owned by a member of his family and that they use the same recipes. It all made perfect sense! The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, even encouraging us to return and meet his mother, who taught him these recipes. I highly recommend the hummus, baba ghanoush, salsa, and grape leaves--they're all fantastic. Be sure to order the lavash bread on the side, as it pairs perfectly with everything. For a main course, the adana lamb kebab is a must-try. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and full of flavor. I only wish I could cook like this--I'd happily eat Mediterranean food every single day!

My husband was particularly excited by how the rice was made. The grape leaves were good and the dinners came with the red cabage and salad. Delicious. I also got the Raki, because I was having Turkish food, but all the cocktails sounded very good. We did not sit in the bar, but they sounded like they were having the time of their lives in there. At one point Rod Stewart came on over the speakers and you could hear them shouting "ROD!!!" I was like, shit - Turkish food AND the regulars love Rod Stewart? Sign me up! If we lived anywhere near here, we'd be back.

Ambiance Service…read more Food This place was such a wonderful surprise! Little restaurant in a little town...big time winner! It's so cute, great for a date night or dinner with friends. The service was good. A touch slow on drinks and I think our server forgot to put in one of our meals...it came out quite a while after the rest of the dishes. She was such a sweetheart though and they squeezed us in when they were really busy, so I couldn't dock a star for that because everything else was amazing. The drinks were delicious. The FOOD! Oh my gosh, it was all SO GOOD! Calamari, steak tips, chicken, eggplant lasagna, gyro and baked scallops were all winners. The scallops though! I could go on and on about how wonderful the food was. We will definitely be back and recommending it to anyone who will listen!

Will recommend Will return…read more when you walk in this place, this is order at counter to go or order at the counter and be seated and they will bring you your order. This is not a place where a waitress comes to your table to take your order. We are local to the area and I created a list of places that I would like to eat at and this was one of them. I had Mediterranean food once before and that was in North Carolina and this restaurant was way better. The food was hot. The food was fresh. The chicken, lamb beef and I know I'm forgetting one more but the four types of meat I had were very moist and very good. Very flavorful! proportions were great for a hungry lady after 8 1/2 hours of yardwork. I chose to do the spicy hummus and WARNING take WARNING that is very spicy. The pita bread was not stale. The staff was very friendly. I did say to them that I was willing to try anything they recommended. I was up for an adventure, and there was not much that I don't like and that's what she chose for me. The seating area was plenty. It was a little bit busy, which I was surprised to see. I just figured it wasn't going to be that busy, but it was. It seemed very family oriented. It was not loud at all. It also seemed to be clean. The chair is on the other hand they could use an upgrade. They were comfortable, but you can definitely tell by the armrest that they are used. I thought the price was also very reasonable considering

J-EYE-ro? JEER-o? YIEE-ro? So many opinions on how to pronounce gyro. But I pronounce it…read more"delicious!" I've sampled the chicken, the beef and the lamb. All absolutely excellent. The portion size is variable. I've had it "generous" and I've had it "Whoa - that's a LOT of food". They're not covered with a standard tzatziki sauce - theirs is more feta forward. Super tasty. The fries vary as well. Sometimes a bit crunchier and sometimes, while still crunchy, more toward McD fries style. But it's just the outer surface that crunches. Inside it's smooth and creamy. Top drawer. You'll find that they tuck a few fries into the wrap. A nice touch. The only negative point is speed. I've always been there early - the first for lunch. But it still takes a fair bit of time to get the food. Arrive during the crowded time and you're definitely going to be waiting around. But ... worth it. They have a lot more on the menu and have an interesting alcohol free beer/soda that was new to me and a nice change from actual soda. Definitely worth a visit.

I recently enjoyed some food from Chez Rafiki's at Tree House Brewing Company in Charlton. I was visiting the brewery with my two-year-old son and we decided to get some food from the food truck. I was excited to see that Chez Rafiki's was the food truck that day because I love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine. After looking over the menu, I decided to order Chez Rafiki's Special: the "Chicken Killer" (Rice, Fries, Chicken Shawarma, Pickled Red Onion, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Garlic Sauce, Feta Cheese). I also ordered a side of Falafel. I absolutely loved the Chicken Killer; a symphony of Mediterranean flavors and spices. My son has never tried this kind of cuisine before. He wouldn't touch the Chicken Killer but he absolutely loved the Falafel. He happily gobbled down half of the Falafel balls. I would definitely order from Chez Rafiki's again if I saw them at another brewery or festival.

Came here for take out and left with no issues and a light bill! We ordered a traditional gyro,…read morespicy gyro, and a side of greek fries. The gyros were delicious. Very fresh ingredients were used, loaded with shaved moist roasted chicken, fries were added and the sauces were flavorful and delicious! Cost per gyro was around $12.95. I would argue unless you were super hungry each gyro could last two servings! The side of greek fries was a bit confusing I will say. For the take out part, the fries came in a huge brown bag. It felt like a 5 pound bag of fries which costed $9. I think in hindsight if we had known that's how many fries we would get with a side order we would have not ordered that. Also, who charges $9 for a "side" of fries?! No one. So that was the only complaint. But, the servers were friendly and service was fast and generous. The ambiance was nice! I would visit regularly if we were in the area more often. We definitely be back hopefully soon!

The restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking, so there are never any issues finding a spot. However, some of neighboring businesses are no longer in operation, which leaves the area feeling a bit quiet. The space inside is open and airy, but it can feel a little awkward without any background music, as you can clearly hear everyone's conversations around you. While the pita bread itself is flavorful and soft, the chicken was unfortunately quite dry, which made the overall texture less enjoyable. The flavors were decent, but the dryness of the chicken stood out. I got tzatiki sauce on the side and it helped. One thing to note is that each topping you add that is not already on the item itself, is an additional charge. I enjoyed the zucchini fritters--crispy and packed with flavor. However, at four fritters per order, I felt it was a bit pricey for the portion size. There's a self-serve soda fountain along with a limited selection of beers available. Service was strangely slow and what I can only described as "unbothered". A simple, satisfying meal, but there are areas for improvement.
