We made our second visit to Legends this evening and it was wonderful! The stuffed mushrooms are a great choice for an appetizer, I had the filet and my husband had the sirloin both we were so tender and lots of flavor, food came out hot and best Caesar salad I have had in a long time. Atmosphere is very nice, kinda rustic modern mountain; however, It's a little noisy because the ceilings are high but other than that it's wonderful food/service. I would highly recommend the shrimp and grits, it is to die for!!! You get such a large amount you will have to get a doggie bag. The steaks are awesome as well. The menu is well diversified, and If you're lucky enough to get waitress, server "Amber", she is amazing, she is on the ball, friendly and makes THE BEST pomegranate martini. I had two, so yummy! It had so much gristle and fat that I left at least 3/4ths of it on the plate. When my waitress asked how my meal was, I complained about the steak. She told me she would inform the kitchen. They were great. We stopped in the area a little later than we expected for Thanksgiving so we couldn't grab anything from a grocery store. The owner sat us even though they were wrapping up for the night. Everything came out prompt and was delicious! My fiance got the prime rib dinner and I got the turkey dinner. Everyone was welcoming and the service was great. Thank you guys for rescuing our holiday! When we come back this way we will be stopping in again! This act of kindness means a lot. Because of the pandemic we were unable to visit my family. This is the first holiday I have not been home. I am a medical worker and have not had a break from everything that has been going on, not being able to see my family is just the bitter cherry on top. I really wanted to be wowed by this place. The storefront has a promising facade. From its earthy paint job with beautiful dark wood trim to the way the theme carries inside. Our waitress was pleasant, but needed to work on her efficiency. We felt a bit rushed. My husband ordered an Old Fashioned and had to send it back. It was heavy on the simple syrup and undrinkable. So he exchanged it for a Woodford on the rocks. We started with the mozzarella wedges, which were okay. They were a good size, maybe that's why the breading seemed a smidge undercooked. The marinara was tasty, though. My husband ordered the NY strip with a loaded baked potato. He said his meal was fine. My kid enjoyed her perfectly cooked medium rare filet mignon with Mac 'n cheese and mashed potatoes. I had the prime rib special medium rare which was perfect and served with a delicious au jus. My only gripe was the green beans. They were overcooked, greasy to no flavor and just not tremendously palatable. The broccoli had a nice flavor until I got halfway through, then they were greasy. There was a dessert case on display by our table, so we saved room specifically for dessert. However, I guess our waitress had other plans for us because she dropped off the check hurriedly without asking us if we wanted dessert. Unfortunate, because we would have ordered two. At any rate, upon review of our bill my husband noted that the old fashioned was deleted from the bill, but a drink we didn't order was added to the bill. She promptly took it off apologetically. As we were walking out the door we passed the hostess stand where there were two host/hostess chatting amongst themselves and must have forgotten to say goodbye (even though we made eye contact). I had the chicken with BBQ the chicken was cooked perfectly and the texture was very good . My wife had a steak and cheese she loved it . Came to Murphy for the casino, stayed for this dinner--which did not disappoint! Prices are super reasonable for such great food. The shrimp were perfectly breaded and the trout is locally sourced. My family and I are in the area on vacation and decided to try Legends for lunch. While we were greeted pretty quickly when we walked in, that's as good as the service got. After being seated we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink orders, our server was the same girl who sat us. Once we finally ordered our food we waited another 45 minutes before we saw it. We ordered 2 burgers, a chicken sandwich, the macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders from the kids menu. Once the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised that the steak fries were more like large potatoes wedges, it's unfortunate that they weren't even seasoned with salt and pepper. The burgers were average, nothing special about them. The Mac and cheese was absolutely disgusting, it was watery and flavorless, again not even salt and pepper were used. The chicken was really the only decent tasting thing, but it was a little over seasoned. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, there were 3 other tables with 3 or less people at them. Inside was clean and quiet but it was so cold inside that our table was shaking from freezing and another table kept moving to try and get away from the ac vents that were blowing directly on everyone. It's the middle of winter and we had to ask for the ac to be turned off just so we weren't freezing. They had these cameras that every few minutes a bright light would turn on and shine right in your face. I should have listened to my instincts and just left when I opened the menu and saw that if you wanted to share a meal, which my kids do often since they don't always eat the whole meal, that there was going to be an additional $5 charge but no extra food given. We love the area but will never visit Legends again. read more
