Yesterday was craving decent Chinese. Went to China Town and placed my order. Got it and headed home as my craving was soon to be satisfied. This is my go to Chinese Restaurant whenever I am up in the mountains exploring NC. Things I like: their menus are basic. In terms of food, I prefer basic than complex menu, easier to distinguish and easier to decide whether to try it. Their lo mein is my favorite; it got the authentic Chinese flavor and cooked not too soft nor too firm. I like that they serves fried plantains on their buffet menu. I love fried banana for dessert. Another thing I like is that they have 2 different kinds of soups; egg drop soup and sour and spicy soup (i think). I like mixing these both, half and half in a cup. The staff is very hospitable, he kept checking on us if everything was alright. Things I do not like, parking is very limited up front especially during lunch hour. They do not have fruits just like other Asian restaurants would normally have. Regardless of the parking, I will be coming back here whenever I am in the area. read more

A fairly good Chinese restaurant with a good choices on the buffet as long as you like chicken fixed several different ways.

This is my "GO TO" Dine in or Carry Out Chinese place. If you can hit this place at a peak time, you will not be disappointed. Any day around lunch or 1700-1900 you will be sharing the buffet with enough people that they keep the food hot and fresh. Sunday 1230 - 1500 you will be lucky to get a seat and you know how well the local church crowd can eat. Those big people can destroy a buffet. The carry out is alwyas hot and perfect. read more

This place is OK. it's not great but not terrible. They have a small selection of items for lunch compared to most buffets like this. The items they do have a re fresh and hot and tasty. I'd say they only had about 12-15 different items. No sushi at all. almost everything was chicken, only 1 beef item that I remember. no salad bar type items at all. we went for lunch $9.25. Disgusting cold food with ignorant staff!!! Do not waist your money. I complained to the guy working there and told him my food was not hot from the lunch buffet, he got angry and proceeded to show me the hot water under the trays....like that proves anything. I was embarrassed to be eating there and will not return. I do not understand why people go here willingly! Do people in Murphy NC not have taste buds?? I had to ask for food to be made as the buffet was lacking many items with empty trays and got dirty looks for asking them to put food out. I am giving this Chinese buffet a 5 star rating for service. We live in an are where there are not many Chinese restaurants available and certainly not many buffets during this unusual time that we all find ourselves in. I read all the reviews of all of the restaurants and my son really wanting to go to a buffet, we decided despite some of the reviews, we would come here and try our luck. I am so glad we did! The people were so nice. The wait staff could not be more accommodating constantly refreshing our drinks and asking if we needed anything! They served you at the buffet due to Covid restrictions which was just fine because when you told them how much or how little you wanted they were eager to comply without complaint. They even suggested their specialties and asked if we liked certain things that we might enjoy certain items on the buffet. I found this so refreshing compared to the impersonal treatment you find at most help yourself restaurants in buffet settings. I really enjoyed their Teriyaki chicken on a stick which I have had a million times before in other places, but theirs was exceptional!!! The highlight for me however was their Coconut Shrimp!!! It was epic!!!! I may even order it for take out when I am up in Murphy next time just because it was so amazing! The General Tsó was above average as was their vegetable lomien. Given the fact that they serve you and keep the food off limits from the public touching it is a plus. I will definitely be returning when I am in the area and in the mood for a good solid buffet experience with excellent service from buffet to table! read more

Mar 18, 2019: 1125 am. Small, plenty if room, street parking, good crew. While the food is good and the small buffet met all our needs, there is a need for better food warmers. Rat-on-a-stick was cold and dry from the get go, all the food was luke warm to cool. If there had been more people I am sure the food would have been replaced more often and be warm. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food, so a 3 star from me is pretty good. The food was what you would expect, but there were many choices which is nice, plus several soup choices and fruit/dessert buffet as well. The place is very clean, and the service was fine, empty plates were retrieved promptly. A friend and I stopped in here after a day at the local casino... for Sunday Buffet. First and last time. Food was not hot and, for the price, there should have been more selections. I tried to fill my plate to get my money's worth, but not tasty enough to go back for seconds. Egg rolls were obviously pre-frozen. Nothing special about the dessert board, either. I had one packaged sugar cookie. I'm not affected by MSG but my companion is and later that night had to take a cream-of-tartar antidote for MSG 'poisoning' (look it up). I feel for the owners... Good place for fresh chinese food. would have given it a 4 star review; but they lack a good egg roll, their offering is more a spring roll in a egg roll wrapper. the fried rich is not fried but rather just steamed yellow rice with some veggies in it. I Love this China Town. The food is so awesome. The flavor is outta of this world good. My Husband and I go at least once a week, sometimes twice. I have always loved Chinese food but this place is by far best. You have to go at the busiest times to get the freshest plentiful buffet, The only down side for us, is the dessert bar, Not at all what I would consider a good dessert bar, They need cakes or even soft served ice cream would be great. But the buffet's food is so good We overlook the lack of desserts. They do not use MSG. The staff is very friendly. The price is unbeatable. I only wish more folks would patronize this restaruant. It's clean, and pretty darn good compared to the other on the 4 lane in Murphy. Clean, my fingers don't stick to the salt & pepper shakers like the other place, and they are Chinese not of the other Asian decent making believe to be. They dont put food back into the containers and they don't wipe the tables with the same cloth that they do the seats ...... get it ! If something isn't right ; I tell them and they accomodate . Darn, for the prices , I don't know how they survive. Everything is fresh, if not when your there, tell em'. We tried this restaurant about a month ago and we thought it had potential. So instead of a review I am going to write a list of improvements the restaurant can make to grow customers. 1) Get rid of the vertical blinds and let people walking in downtown look inside. It will make it feel more welcoming and will let people see what the restaurant is all about. 2) Paint the inside of the restaurant. Do not patch spots, paint the whole place. 3) Soups need to be hot, not warm. Part of the problem is that the soups are kept uncovered on the buffet line, like a sauce. 3) Get rid of the magazines below the counter. This is a restaurant, not a hair salon. 4) The food is pretty ok. Not bad. It was fresh when we had lunch. My favorites were the very thin noodles, the chicken with broccoli, and the sweet and sour chicken. 5) Either the manager or one of the employees was on the phone sitting in front of the window talking and looking out the window. This is not ok. This gives a bad impression, not professional. 6) The ladies keeping the buffet line clean and fully stocked were very nice. They picked up our plates promptly and kept our drinks full. The employees seemed to care and provide good service so hopefully they can take this review and make the dining experience better. read more
