It took me awhile to try Kobe Grill. I was a little stand offish, since they do not seem to draw a crowd. They offer sushi and traditional dishes. I was alone, but a friend recommended Steak and Broccoli, it sounded like a safe bet. The food arrived and it was displayed really nice! It was definitely hot and just the right temperature. I would love to tell you it was the most amazing meal ever, but sadly it was just okay. The owner was very nice and the service was impeccable! The restaurant while dated was very clean and decorated in the traditional way, but not over the top like some places do. I can't honestly say I will be back, unless a friend is just seriously set on it. I really wanted to enjoy the food but I think I would have rather had dinner from a Chinese food chain instead . Sushi was great. Waitress was great. Rest...not so much. My companion had the Alaska roll and it had to have been 3" thick, too thick to pick up with chopsticks, yet good. My "spring roll" was not a spring roll at all, but a deep fried tiny egg roll. My Tempura veggies were so overcooked and over battered that between the two of us, we were unable to eat them. Wish we had a camera to shoot photos. To top it all off, the bill was $42.00, $50.00 with tip. We are both sick from the deep-fried mess that was served to us. They need to learn to cook Japanese. Learn a great Teriyaki sauce that the locals will crave. Learn to cook tiny bites. Learn to cook wonderful noodles with shrimp, pork, veggies, or beef. Kobe Grill is amazing!. The atmosphere inside and out is such a new thing for downtown Murphy. My husband and I sat on the patio and enjoyed our lunch this past Saturday. The entire restaurant is just "spot on"Not to mention the food. Our dishes looked like a plates on a cooking show and they were so delicious! Hearty portions too, I had to take half of mine home. The menu has so many different dishes, so much to choose from! We met the owners, Doc and Logan and they are just great hard working guys. They were so professional, friendly and personable! My family really likes this place & overall it wasn't bad. This was my first time here. My group ordered: - Teriyaki steak - Teriyaki salmon - Hibachi steak - Teriyaki chicken All orders came with rice & glazed carrots and each meal came with either broccoli or mushrooms. I am used to getting some type of "brown" rice (with added flavors) with my dishes, but their rice was white and had bits of corn, peas, and onions in it. This was a new combination for me, but it wasn't terrible. I had the Teriyaki steak and it was tender and had a nice flavor & their glazed carrots are really yummy. I would definitely give it another try. They give you the option to get soba noodles instead of rice & I would probably do that. read more

Went there yesterday for lunch and from the outside the restaurant looks inviting, but after coming in and getting seated we started noticing things. For instance they sat us at a booth and the seat distance from the table to the seat back is way too close for an average person, so we went to a table. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer and got fried egg rolls, surprise! Another order was Alaskan sushi roll. It must have been 2" in diameter, I could not eat a slice in one bite and so it fell apart after the first bite, a little messy. My wife had tempura veggies, they were heavily breaded and she could not finish them so I did. Both of us did did not eat for the remainder of the day because of the load of deep fried oily food. On top of that our order consisted of 4 items and the bill came to $42, for lunch. Not ever going back. Having said all that the waitress was very attentive and the staff was nice. The service was pretty good and probably the best part of the visit. All of the staff checked on all of the tables. We ordered the egg rolls with tangy sauce. The sauce was pre-packaged duck sauce which you get from take out at any Chinese place. A homemade tasty sauce would have been better. I ordered a soup it came a minute before the egg rolls and the entrees came a minute later. They could slow the service down a little to allow the patrons to enjoy the meal. read more

lets talk about the customer service first. ordered habachi steak with no rice and extra veggies. the guy brought out my food, tilted the bag and all the juice from the container was in the bottom of the bag. he took my food back to rebag it , which he did but didnt wipe the juice from the bottom of the container, therefore the new bag was wet too. now to the food. the veggies were undercooked, meat overcooked and the white sauce runny. read more

Initial impression was uncertainty and mild confusion as the setup is more of a casual dining experience and the menu's first page depicted foods not consistent with other Kobe Grill Restaurants. Beyond that the food was excellent, the wait staff were on the ball and very pleasant, the quality of the sushi and sashimi was quite fresh, and the prices were reasonable. The girl at the counter got a lot of attitude when we brought it back to her, and we had to make them take it off the check, they were not concerned about the hair in the food at all. This is the closest Sushi to me so I have tried them a few times. They are always slow. Particularly with to go orders. If they tell you 15min you will easly wait 30min for your order. This has happened to be three times. The sushi is basic. They are not super friendly. read more
