Booked a consult appt to discuss what I wanted in terms of results and gain agreement. I felt good about that conversation so I booked the appt for my services. On the day of my services I brought pictures of hair colors I liked and what I didn't want. I'm a blonde but don't like my hair too ashly, etc. all of this to ensure we were on the same page. I asked for a full highlight with a root tap. I left with brown hair and hot orange roots. I believe the reason for this was that I was left at the shampoo bowl with toner for way too long. I left this appt after being told I needed an appt for a repair visit at 8:30pm the following night because that's the only time I could be squeezed in. I was told that hot roots were hard to predict and she would tone the orange down. Obviously that didn't work. I'be been getting my hair highlighted and toned correctly for years. I hear blow-dryers, not someone else's convo. 6-They continue to keep & add the best. At the end is a list of those at Legends NOW. I hate getting my hair cut because I never know how to communicate what I want. Brooke explained that the look I wanted was thinning, not layers! What a game changer, that explains a lot of bad haircuts in my past. She also pointed out that my hair isn't straight like I've always treated it, it's actually pretty wavy when styled (a look I love but didn't know I could have). I do feel like an asshole for getting my hair cut during a pandemic, but I appreciate that the salon is taking what precautions they can. I tried this salon today for my 10 year old daughter because it was closer to our house (2 miles away) than the previous one we previously went to (about 20 minutes away). Big mistake. I saw on their website that kid's haircuts are 25+ so I thought it might be $35 for us since my daughter has long hair. When she sat down in the chair, Brooke said it's $45 for a cut and $65 if you want it blow dried. Ridiculous! I opted for the $45 with wet hair, I'm not paying $65 + tip for my young child. And it only took her 10 minutes to cut her hair. Next time I'll travel to Pflugerville and pay $35 for a cut & blow out, and they do a great job. read more

I am not necessarily unhappy with the service, I just had higher expectations. When I called to make an appointment initially, I told them that I was a new client and I wanted a haircut, and possibly highlights. I made a point to say, "Can you add those notes to my appointment?" When I got there, I was greeted and got started pretty quickly with the cut. Then, part way through, I asked her about the highlights. She said there was nothing in the notes and that she had an appointment with a new client coming in 30 minutes. They were so concerned about this new client coming in next that they had forgotten I was a new client myself. I shouldn't have been treated that way. My money should be just as important as the next client. In the end, she asked me to leave and come back at a different time. Because I had the afternoon off, I agreed. By the time the highlights were finished during my second appointment, I was disappointed. What I wanted was not done to my hair. When I went back to work, my co-workers couldn't even tell I had highlights. So, needless to say, I scheduled a third appointment. The third appointment was successful, and they corrected the highlights. The moral of the story is: I asked for highlights and a haircut for ONE appointment, but it took THREE appointments to get it done. The ladies were friendly, but I did not feel like a valued customer at all, so I am doubtful that I will be returning. I was really hoping to make Legends Salon my salon of choice, and I just didn't feel like they wanted my business. I may try out a different salon in those office suites, and hopefully have better luck. read more

Finding the right stylist can be a time consuming endeavor. I was starting to dread hair appointments due to inconsistent results and a high frequency of returns for cut or color correction. That all changed when I met Brooke. She is a master stylist with a high degree of professionalism and desire to give her clients the best possible outcome. I rely on her excellent skill and insightful recommendations each visit and she never disappoints. She took my hair to the next level and offered services that I wasn't even aware of (not in a pushy way whatsoever). With auburn hair, I was always told it was a little trickier to work with, but Brooke didn't ever make it seem as though it was challenging at all. Her level of confidence put me at ease immediately. I have been coming here since 2012. I always go to Linnea and would highly recommend her. She is friendly, nice, and does a great job listening to me about my hair. I have stubbornly straight dark hair and complained that it will not hold a curl. She showed me how to use a straightener to curl my hair and suggested that I could get a body wave if I wanted to change it up. I still haven't gone through with it, but I appreciate her advice. They never push you to buy products, which is also a nice aspect. The salon itself is near the Salt Lick. It's easy enough to find and has a lot of parking. The decor is appropriate. It's not super luxurious, but I'd rather pay for a good haircut than a fancy espresso machine or other unnecessary amenities. read more

She was friendly without being invasive and the girls in the salon seemed to have a good chemistry. The prices are on the website and posted on the wall- which I appreciate. I like to know what I am getting myself into ahead of time and hate to overpay. I got my long hair trimmed and half highlights. The blonde looks good, not too yellow or brassy, so that is a huge plus. She didn't skimp either. I hate leaving the salon feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. I will definitely go back to Laura. They gave me I think $15 off because it was my first visit. Total cost, before tip, was $109. I think that is completely fair for the service and results I got. Late Post...Finally found a great salon! They are always busy and from what I can tell they have a huge following / repeat customers. Of course that's good and bad... it's not easy to change your appointment if you even have an option. So it's best to keep your appointment. The good is the fact you know you're getting a great cut/style each and every time! The facility is clean, organized and very "airy" - it's not cluttered and the decor is classy and peaceful. I have been in Round Rock for about a year and haven't found my "home" salon. After researching and reading all the wonderful reviews I was hoping this was it. I sent a request on December 9th for an appointment and Amy got back with me quickly and had an opening for the 21st or the 23rd. I chose the 23rd at 10am. On the 22nd Amy called and rescheduled my appointment because my stylist was sick and had been out for the week. Obviously being a few days before Christmas I was disappointed because I knew I wouldn't be able to find another opening on such short notice anywhere else. While understanding that my stylist was sick, I get that things come up so that's fine. I accepted the time for 6pm on Tuesday the 26th. I arrive at 5:45 today. My stylist (I still don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself) walked in to the waiting area and I told her I had a 6pm appointment. She looked me up and pointed out that I was early and that she was still with someone else. I said that's fine I know I'm early I don't mind waiting. She asked what I was doing and I said I had sent a request for a full color and possibly an ombre and she looked surprised and said that's not what I was down for. She complained that she didn't know why they would book me at this time for that much work because she had been there all day and would have to be there until almost 11pm to do what I was asking and had to be back early the next morning. I didn't really know what to say because this is simply not my fault. And while I feel sorry for the situation (she was obviously still sick and not feeling well) I'm frustrated too after waiting for 3 weeks for this "amazing" salon and after being rescheduled to be half way greeted and then to be put in a spot where I felt completely awkward and like I was an inconveinence by being there and asking entirely too much. Am I supposed to change what I'm wanting because of the inconvenience? So I just waited and she said are you ok with the price? And she went over the cost for each the full color, the ombre and the cut. I was fine with this. I had looked at the prices online and was fully prepared to spend $200 - $300. No surprise here. She said ok. Are you fine with the time? And I said I mean if you're ok with that, I don't know why I'm not down for both because that's what I was requesting. So that's up to you. She said ok just have a seat and let me finish up what I'm doing. Honestly, after that conversation if it wasn't for having waited 3 weeks already and not having a free weekend this next weekend to even reschedule somewhere else, I would have told her to just forget it at that point. I just wanted it done. I was optimistic that once we got started she would be more friendly. Great. So I sit and I wait until about 630pm. She finished up with her other customer. She says I can have a seat and she sweeps her work station. She hands me a book to pick out a color while she takes some cough medicine. I asked if she wanted me to pick out 2 colors or just the ombre color and she asked what do you mean? And I explained again that I wanted a darker base color and the ombre over it. She said I simply do not have time to melt a full color over what you have now and blend it and then do the ombre too. Do you not like your natural color? I said it's not about not liking it, the whole point is that I wanted to go darker. I don't understand what changed from the 30 minutes earlier when we went over this. I told her to just forget it. I'd just wait. But I hope she feels better and that I was frustrated after waiting so long already. And I left. I'm not saying I wasn't asking for a lot to be done. It was going to be a lot of work. I completely agree and realize that. But at the end of the day, I took a time that was offered to me and did not realize that my stylist would have an issue with it. I've worked retail. I've dealt with customers when I didn't feel well or being there after closing etc. But I have never made them feel like they shouldn't be there. I'll go back to researching and try some where else who maybe won't complain about what I'm asking to be done. read more

I wanted another hairdresser but she was booked 6 weeks out and needed my roots done so I settled for another stylist boy was that a mistake! I have been growing my layers out for over 2 years and within a matter of minutes she cut layers back in. I wanted to cry (I waited until I got into the car). All I asked for was to even out my shoulder length hair since the back was a bit longer instead I got a chopped up hair cut. I had highlights already in my hair and asked about a glaze to tone it down. I don't think she knew what I was talking about since she never attempted to do that. A $137 later I have a jacked up hair cut and brassy previous highlights. I should have listened to my doubts and not have gone to that appointment. Please be careful with who does your hair at this Salon or you will have to pay literally money and time to regrow your hair! read more

This is my 6th year getting my hair done by Lauren at Legends. My hair is fine and frizzy/wavy and naturally ashy/dirty blonde. yuk. In the past several years my new growth has been increasingly more grey and harder to blend and cover. Lauren does a FANTASTIC job with my highlights and color. I go 8-12 weeks between visits and I am really the only person that notices the grey because she blends my lowlights and highlights so well. I went to Legends based on Yelp reviews. The owner is very nice, and most likely a great stylist. My experience is with Amy. She's relatively new, so I don't want to taint the other hairdressers, just Amy. I went in saying, if you cut it too short, that's OK, hair grows. I said if you don't cut it enough, I'll just come back sooner. I guess I should have added, it's NOT ok to cut my hair crooked. I have about an inch difference in the front part of my hair. Even when I came home, I had to have my son cut some hair in back that I guess was "forgotten". I specifically said I wore my hair in a bob that went under. She dried my hair flipping up, and when I said I don't wear it like that, she told me that's the way it dried. I always thought hairdressers dried your hair the way you wanted, or curled it under. Anyway, after about 3-4 weeks, I'm done trying to work with this haircut. I'm going today to get it re-cut. Obviously I'm NOT returning to Amy, and at this time, not to Legends. Sorry ladies, but I didn't think I had to tell a hairdresser not to cut my hair crooked. read more

I am basing my review solely on the spiral perm service. Prior to today, I have never been to this salon. Anyway, I visited this salon and met with Cindy who gave me a consult and explained the perm process. She was very thorough and sounded confident in her work. I felt very comfortable especially because I showed her at least 4 pictures of a modern spiral perm that I wanted and stressed that I did not want an 80's perm. She assured me that the outcome of my perm may be between a cross of two of the pictures I showed her. I was okay with her explanation. The problem was that the perm came out frizzy, stringy, smaller and tighter curls than expected, and just plain crimpy 80's vibe. I was so disappointed that I spent over $150 with tip included. The perm was so bad I literally sat in my car and cried. I then ran home and added more leave-in conditioner to my hair because I looked like a chia pet. The perm is still ugly as can be but looks slightly better. I think I am just going to wash it out because I don't want anyone to see me like this. read more

I moved to Texas about 1 1/2 years ago and had a hard time finding a stylist/colorist. After trying three different salons which only damaged my hair terribly, Karen Simmons at Legends Salon was recommended by a friend. Karen took one look at my hair and knew exactly how it "worked." My hair is very thick and curly and has gotten darker over the years but I still prefer being a blonde. She's been able to highlight and blend the color without damaging it. As a matter of fact my hair has only gotten stronger and healthier since going to Karen. I trust her immensely on all of her recommendations and know that I will be happy! Last week I got a Keratin Smoothing Treatment. All I can say is WOW! My hair has NEVER been so smooth and full of life! I wash it and effortlessly blow dry it and it falls just the way I want it. Its gone from kinky, frizzy and uncontrollable to smooth, flowing and, yup, my husband says sexy! And the way it feels----OMG---I want to keep touching it! I've always dreaded having to get my hair cut and highlighted because of the time it takes out of my schedule but Karen makes it easy and I always look forward to my appointments. Not only is she professional and talented but she's fun and keeps me laughing the whole time I'm there. I've always been nervous about getting my hair cut. I used to go to a salon in Georgetown where I trusted my stylist with my hair. After her, I was never able to find anyone else who I was completely satisfied with...until today. I got my hair cut by Harmony, and I don't think there are enough words to say how awesome she is. She makes hair cutting an art. She is extremely patient...And super nice. Not only did she cut my hair like I wanted it, she let me know which if the two hair styles I chose would work better for me based off my face shape. I have never had a stylist give me their honest opinion about a hair cut I've wanted. Another thing, I sent an email after business hours, to request an appointment for the following day, if possible. I left my cell number so that I could receive a call. I didn't expect a call the same evening, however, the owner called me within a couple of minutes to let me know that Harmony has a cancellation for the following day. That was extremely helpful since today would have been the only time I would be able to go. The salon is modern, beautiful, and clean.
