I got a service-while-you-wait appointment a day or so after my initial call. As it turns out, my oil drain had not been properly tightened at a different shop (not Gil's). Gil's tightened it and cleaned things up. The kicker? They didn't charge me a penny for this. I'm sure there are lots of honest mechanics in town. I'm glad I've found one here. I called in and they confirmed it was set but sounded slightly annoyed when I inquired. Went to my appointment and there was 1 gentleman reading a paper waiting in the waiting area. No hustle or bustle at 9am. Seemed pretty slow. The employee at the counter was on the phone for a few minutes before acknowledging me. Somehow took him a while comprehend what I was wanting which was mount my winter tire/rims and remove and dispose of my old tires and put extra rims in trunk. He confirmed all my info and sent me on my way. Waited for a call that never came and so I called back around 3pm and David told me tires were done hours ago and called and left me a voicemail. That was a lie. When I came to pick up my car, they informed me one of my TPMS sensors was malfunctioning but they didn't replace it and told me to make another appointment at $80 to get it checked. Apparently, they were too busy to add an extra 30 minutes to accomodate a long time customer. I had 4 easily accessible TPMS sensors in the trunk. When I looked at my invoice, TPMS fail wasn't even on it it. They only told me verbally. NOW i have to drive with an annoying dash light for the next few months until I get a whole new set of tires next year. After Travis sold, it has not been the same. Service has gone downhill, the honesty and integrity I valued at this location for over 20 years has disappeared. Too bad. I was ready to buy a full set next season. But hey, they cleaned my windshield from the inside.

Our car was towed at 9th Street Auto. I wish we had more time to get it to another auto repair but…read morewe were only in Bend for 2 weeks. It was towed on Sunday afternoon August 30. We didn't hear from Jaden until late Monday afternoon even after we called the store when it was open. You had to leave a message every time. That should have been a signed. It was the transmission $8K later. We paid them in full on September 2nd. We let them know that we needed the car by September 11 to go back to California. We went to check on the car on Wednesday and they are still working on it. We got a call on September 11 at 4:30 pm they closed at 5:00 pm that the car is ready to pick up. Jaden wasn't there it was the mechanic that said to us the car steering wheel is not straight that it should be ok to drive. He wished he had more time to fix it. Jayden got back a few minutes later with his whole family and told us that the steering is not part of the installation of the new transmission that it's not their problem. We should get it fixed when we get to California. I drove it out of their parking lot and headed to Costco for a gas. It was now 4:59 pm. As I was driving it, it started making the grinding noise like metal to metal and I tried to call them right away and I had to leave a message and they are closed on weekends. Once we got to Costco I asked my husband to drive it and I will drive our son's car.He drove it back to our sons house and around the block to see if it maybe it needs adjusting. It is still making the grinding noise. We had to make a decision not to drive the car back to California that night and leave it with our son to return the car back on Monday. We rented a car to go home to California. My husband called them on Monday and spoke to Jesse, we assume his the owner because he knew exactly what happened. Once a transmission gets installed the repair shop is required to drive the car at least 50 to 70 miles. Even though Jaden said that they would do that after we paid them, that didn't happen. Jesse said they should have never given us the car back. He knew exactly how to fix the car before we the transmission is installed they suppose to put something on the steering wheel to prevent it from moving. If they would have driven the car like they said they would hear the grinding noise, my husband told him that we left the car with our son that he would bring it back that Monday afternoon. Our son got the call on Wednesday that the car is now fix. Our son drove it around and kept it until we can schedule my husband to fly back to pick it up. My husband flew back on September 24 to pick up our car and went to see Jesse and let him know that we will be sending receipts for the rental car, gas and the plane ticket which is the total of $675. Jesse told my husband to email them and he would review. I sent the email with the receipts twice without response. After all the hustle that we had to go through, I will leave it up to the public to decide on how we were treated at this place.
