Brought a shirt in to have simple alteration done to waist and arms. 1st off, wanted to charge me a huge amount for the work. 2nd, I gave detailed instructions that were not followed. 3rd when I picked up shirt, he had taken out elastic of both sleeves, when all I asked for was to shorten one of them, as it was longer than the other. Never said to take out elastic. A verbal assault on me ,ensued. The only redeeming factor was ultimately, he fixed the mistake, however I will NEVER give them any business ever again. Went back to have it repaired and because it was past 30 days, Lee tailor refused to stand behind their work. They are easily accessible so I kept trying them, but no more. I have taken in sets of curtains to be hemmed only to put them up & realize they were all different levels & off by an inch or two between the 4 panels (that sit together on a window & told them to make them al even). I even gave them the benefit of the doubt & went back to get another item fitted. Instead of telling me they could "fix" the one issue but not the other issue, they took my money (no refunds) & only ixed the issue with the item. We took pants there & had them hem them an inch. They are not even. We are done. I have another dress that needs a 2 inch hem job. But I don't trust them anymore & have to get over assuming these issues were me just being finicky. I went to get a new metal zipper on my hoodie. I showed him what I wanted was a new metal zipper and I brought in another hoodie and pointing out the entire metal zipper. He said yes and then took my money and I'd get it in 2 weeks. I went back and I had a new metal pull but the zipper was the original plastic. I asked about the metal zipper and he said i get a metal pull and that I knew that. I disagreed so he took the metal pull off and gave me my money back. Now I have a jacket without a pull so it is useless. I asked for a different pull so my jacket was usable and he said get out and went to the back of the store and ignored me. So rude. if I could give zero stars I would. I brought in two dresses to have pressed for my teenage daughter. I paid extra to have them done in 24 hours. When I picked the dresses up they look exactly the same as when I dropped them off with the exception of the bow in the back of the dress. I tried to voice my concern with the gentleman behind the counter, but he said no it had been pressed and then walks away out of sight. I tried to call him back, but he would never return. Needless to say I spent $30 on two dresses to be pressed and just not being done. This is not my first time with poor service from this location but I thought there's no way they could mess up pressing a garment. I will never give my business to Lee's Tailors ever again. Absolutely horrible! This is not the same Lee Tailor's we used to go to over the years. My son's suit pants were not ready on time, we were told to come back later. We came back later only to find that his pants have been ruined. They do not know how to take in suit pants, they took in the waist band but did not take in the fabric as requested in the seat of his pants. We should have gone straight back to the suit store instead of using them - we will not go back after their attitude and poor workmanship. read more

Last year I purchased a nice, thin jumpsuit although, like a lot of items it was too long. Fast forward I asked for my jumpsuit to be taken up a few inches and it was taken up alright... Let me say due to unforeseen family issue I was rushed and wasn't able to try on item when picking up. When I gained the chance to review the work I noticed it wasn't correct. I kindly go back a few days later to show them their work and how I wasn't pleased. The male continues to go back and forth with me saying it was done correctly and that the measurements matched. He wanted me to try it on... because of jumpsuits material and I slipped it on over my jeans.. ironically I was correct!!!! He said he could fix for free but when questioning how???? He said he'd let out the hym...... HOW?!?!?!? I asked?!?!? One leg is way too short and the other is good. He refused to give me the $14 back to resolve issue.... I dropped off 3 pairs of cargo pants to get taken in at the waist. Same size just different colors. The first I tried was perfect, the second was a little too tight and the third was obviously cut and sewn but was not tightened at all! I waited a week to pick up my pants be charged again for the one that didn't fit right. Mind you the dressing room smelled like a dirty diaper. I picked up the items on the specified date and returned home and tried on the items. The dress hem was still touching the floor! I returned to the shop and the tailor had me try the dress on again. The man seemed very preoccupied with a crying baby in the back but I totally understood this distraction. Upon PU, 1 items unfortunately was not tailored. Things happen right? The owner (man) truly refused to acknowledge that they had missed this particular item which clearly was never touched. I could not believe I was in a back and forth debate about this. I left and vowed never to return as I was treated so poorly. Also, BE careful!!! He had me Venmo him my payment ($160+) to his personal account which was super shady and I should have questioned. Worst experience, need to rethink having a business that doesn't have qualified and professional employee's. I stopped in to get some measurements taken for a custom wedding dress that I'm getting made. All though cheap, and only cost me five dollars, I was rushed. Overall, I didn't get all the measurements I needed. After my husband had paid they refused to give us our money back or fix the issue. The man yelled, "But the measurements are correct!" I bought a jacket in a sale online (a Calvin Klein raincoat). It invariably came larger than the labeled size, so I figured I'd have it taken in. The process was very detailed, I stood on a pedestal for measurements and pinning - it was decided that new seams would be made. My wife, who was with me, took objection to the suggestion that I "should eat more" (wondering if fat people are told to eat less). There seemed to be a little more discussion on the jacket than necessary (the price I paid, no I don't intend to actually go out in the rain in it, yes it was made in China, not sure of what it's made from, but I'm sure it has a label inside). The work was done very well and I'm now happy with the fit of my newly skinnyfied Chinese-manufactured, American designed, British worn jacket. read more

I just moved to Wake Forest and tried this tailor out. I went in with a maxi dress and a pair of pants to get hemmed. The maxi dress has a curve to the bottom and the guy quoted me $25 to hem 2 inches off the bottom. Which to me is insanely high. When I asked why it was so expensive, he replied it was because of the curve. I took it to my old tailor (off Durant) and they did it for $12. Horrible customer service! Went to pick up a hemmed bridesmaids dress and when tried on there was a large snag in the front of my dress. They "fixed" it by pulling out the snag and cutting the excess fabric leaving a small hole and would not take any responsibility for the issue. Watching too much Stacy and Clinton probably, but I felt like I needed the services of a tailor. I'd been dieting and needed to have some suit pants taken in (yay!) I also needed to have a jacket altered along with another pair of pants. I took them in, where I was greeted by a very friendly, tailor-savvy clerk. She asked that I stand on a pedestal while she pinned and marked the pants and jackets. What I most appreciated was that she considered my size and shape. She recommended a new jacket length, based upon the length of my torso. In my opinion, this is not something that a novice tailor would know to do. And- she was right! When I came back in to pick up the goods, I was quite pleased once I tried them on. She got it just right. I was able to pick up the goods one week later. The only downer? They don't take credit/debit cards. Weird? Completely. Make sure you take your checkbook or cash. One little insider tip- some friends of mine purchase obnoxiously expensive denim. They take their costly jeans to Lee's Tailors, where they can give you a manufacturer's style hem. In other words, your best jeans aren't gonna look like grandma ironed a big cuff and sewed 'em up. They were hemmed so well, I couldn't tell a tailor touched them- off the rack finish! read more

We have been using Lee's for years and have usually been pretty happy...however my wife recently took a dress there to be hemmed. They charged $53 to hem a dress. We figured "ok, maybe it's a material that is hard to work with". I went and picked it up and when she tried it on it was no shorter. She then returned and they said they would correct it but she would have to pay for it. After years of using them she agreed and decided that these things happen sometimes but she really needed it done for a wedding. She left it again. She returned today to pick it up (wedding is tomorrow out of town) and the dress was no shorter. It still dragged the ground. (Yes she wore the shoes she will were with it on each visit for measuring). She told them it wasn't right and they basically said tough. It was obvious that it had never been touched this past time. They wouldn't even give her the dress back until she paid again. We do NOT give bad reviews as a rule as we believe sometimes things happen and people have bad days, however we are now $100 into having a dress altered and it has never been fixed. Additionally she asked on the original visit to add a snap in the chest line as it was a little too revealing. Instead they sewed the area together and it looks horrible. We have used them for years with minimal issues and reasonable prices however they have drastically increased prices for women's alterations and with the added recent experience we will not be returning. read more
