Worst experience ever! I recently took a formal gown in for alterations. I tried on my heels with the gown and specifically asked for 2 inches to be removed. When I picked up the dress, I wasn't allowed to try it on. I took the dress back to the tailor because it was too long and nothing had been done to it. i was told that I needed to pay an additional fee to have the dress redone. But when I tried to rationalize and explain to the assistant, she " shooed" me away and said she had other customers to attend to. Embarrassed, disrespected, disappointed and disgruntled... I will be taking my business elsewhere . I had been a faithful customer but never again! read more

Located just off of Hwy 70 in garner around the corner from the Arby's restaurant. This place seems to have fast reliable service and returning customers based on what I could see during my time dropping off and picking up. The day I dropped off I realized the pants had to be picked up two days earlier. I called the next morning and told them when I need the pants. it was only a pair of pants to be hemmed and taken in but they changed the date and had the pants ready when I could pick them up. I don't know what the going rate is for the service but timing and price seemed reasonable. Hours: they are currently open until 6:30pm, which is great. You will get your price and pay when the items are dropped off. Don't forget to take your shoes if you need to consider that when hemming dresses or pants! But if you forget, there are shoes on site if you don't mind that. read more

The hours were not correct on Yelp or google the first day I visited. But I guess I should have called to see if their hours have been affected by the pandemic. Luckily it was only a 30 min difference. I was able to wait in my car and they promptly opened at 10am. In the 20 total mins it took me to get changed and for my dress to be taken in and hemmed. They called me later that day around 12 to give me the estimate. Make sure you have your shoes already when you go to get hemmed. I unfortunately had not but they did have a small selection only shoes if you don't that you can use to get hemmed. So i just picked a pair about the height i was going to purchase. It was a size 10 and I'm a size 8 but it worked for what I needed. Standing up on their box was harder than i thought. My legs were getting tired lol Such a place was surprisingly so busy. There was 1 customer ahead of me, 1 after that wanted pants hemmed, and then 2 after me. My dress only took a few days to be altered and ready for pick up. They always put the promise date on the card they give you when you drop off. So make sure you don't lose it! read more

Great experience when I needed a dress altered! I went in and was told to go back and get dressed. As soon as I walked out the lady was ready for me. She took a look and automatically knew the dress was way to long. She asked if I was wearing the same shoes I'd be wearing with the dress and I confirmed. She went around me with this thing that puffed chalk and marked where the dress would need to be hemmed to. She pinned the front to confirm I liked the length and then I was practically done. I gave her the dress and paid, she said it would be done Thursday. I went in and had all this done on Monday. She was kidding, dress was ready and perfectly altered on Thursday. I never used any alteration services before, but because I needed my pants altered for work I decided to google alteration shops in my area and I came across Ho's Tailored Shop In Garner NC.Her hours on the door said 10am-4 pm but she arrived early and I asked her about providing services she was so helpful and asked if I needed my pants altered today and of course I said yes( I didn't expect for the alterations to be done in the same day I thought it would take a couple of days ). Took 2 of my daughter's prom dresses to just have length taken off the bottom. She puts one of them on today to go to prom and we realize it never got tailored and the pins were still in the dress. I just picked up a few items I brought in. I had a small 2 cm tear on some pants and needed an exterior patch on a shirt. They charged me $55 and they turned the small tear into a inch long back job of sewing that's more obvious than the tear was in the first place and they put the patch on the inside of the sleeve so now the shirt will fit too tightly. read more

When I came to pick them up they tried to charge me again. Thank goodness I had a receipt. When I hung them up at home they are uneven. They never measured them. I dropped my daughters prom dress off here to have altered for her prom. I asked the lady (Linda) that measured it to keep some of her material to make a handkerchief out of it for my daughters prom date. She said ok and seemed to clearly understand me. She informed me the dress would be ready by Friday, the day we needed it. Before we left, my daughter reminded the lady a 2nd time about the handkerchief. She said oh yes she would do it. When we arrived to pick up the dress and handkerchief, there was no handkerchief, only the dress. I informed the lady (Carol) that we were supposed to have a handkerchief also, she asked if it was in the bag, we said no it was not. They begin to look around as if they were looking for it. Looking on floors, in others bags and everything. We waited around 20 minutes and finally the lady Carol continues to say, we don't have it, we throw it away a lot of times. I continued to stress to her, that was not what was supposed to happen. She begins to help other customers while I'm still waiting and a man in the back proceeds to look. Still no handkerchief or extra material. The lady still looks at me very unconcerned and just continues to say we threw it away. She never apologized, showed any concern whatsoever. She never offered to compensate me or anything. I then asked her what do they usually do in a situation like this. She says, I mean I can give you 10%". Even when she said it she hunched her shoulder and had a very unconcerned look and smirk on her face. I will never return to this place. If you mistakenly throw a customers material away and don't make what you were asked to make, that is not the customers problem. Will never return. read more

I took my wedding dress to him to get fitted because it was way to big & needed some other adjustments. After receiving my dress back from him there was multiple things incorrect, I felt as if my dress was ruined. I ended up calling the shop I bought my dress from and asked what to do.. they sent me to another tailor who proceeded to tell me the bustle was wrong, placements were wrong & the list goes on. I'm now having to spend more money to get my dressed fixed when I feel as if hos tailor could've just been honest with me and said he could not do what I wanted. After speaking with hos tailor he told me he could refund my money & hung up on me because I did not want him to touch my dress again. Very disappointed, will never go back! read more

I took my daughters prom dress to this tailor because I had read that they were successful with prom dresses in the past and had pretty good reviews. When we arrived at the shop we both needed to use the bathroom, which you have to pass the sewing area to get to, and the work area where all the sewing machines are is absolutely filthy, the bathroom was worse, this concerned me given that the bottom half of my daughters dress is white. I was concerned about the dress getting dirty at the time but didn't want to offend anyone by asking that they not allow the dress to touch the floor etc. I was quoted 70.00 to bring the hem up on the dress only, I didn't mind the cost mainly because we were running out of time to get the alterations done and the turn around time given was four days which was wonderful. We arrived to pick the dress up yesterday, my daughter tried it on and I noticed that the stitching wasn't straight and was a little puckered, but it wasn't horrible so I didn't say anything about it, but when I saw there was black filth on the front of her white dress, I had to say something given that I now have to pay a large amount to get the dress cleaned before prom. When I mentioned it to the man who I assume is Ho, he asked if I was saying they got it dirty? I said, absolutely, the dress has been in a bag since it was purchased, and when we left it with them it was new and clean. I said I'm going to now have to have the dress cleaned before prom, he said you can ask they they spot clean the front only, I asked if he was going to discount the price to offset the cost of the cleaning. He asked how I was going to prove that they did it, I was taken aback, I said I can show you pictures I took while you were pinning it the day we brought it in and you can see it was clean. I said she has to take pictures in this dress before prom, He said you should take pictures from far away and you won't see the black on the white gown, I said no, I'm not going to alter our plans for photographs to accommodate the dirt in the dress. He said 10.00 discount it what I can do, I asked how he thought that was fair when it will cost me at the very least 30.00 to have it cleaned, he again asked if I was blaming him for getting it dirty, I said yes the workroom back there is filthy! He denied that it was and I reminded him that I used his bathroom and walked through that area the day I brought the dress in, he then said 20 dollar discount. I will never bring another thing to this shop given the fact that his first remark about the dirt on the dress was "how are you going to prove we did it" and argued with me for at least five minutes before attempting to make the situation right. Bottom line is they charge 70.00 to hem a dress and the hem lines were not even straight, they have a filthy work environment, and will not own up to their mistakes...use them at your own risk and rethink bringing anything white or light colored to them! read more

I have used this tailor shop since I was a teenager. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. I haven't had any issues with bad workmanship. I live in Washington, DC now but my parents are still in Garner. DC tailor prices are much more expensive so I just bring all of my items to Mr. Ho at one time for a much better price. read more

First and last time I will ever use them. I brought in a black dress that needed a new zipper. The dress fit perfectly prior to my bringing it in. When I picked it up, the zipper did not go down far enough (not long enough) for me to put it on (I tried it on while I was there). The lady asked me how long I wanted the zipper and I said this is your business that's why I brought it to you. They claimed it was replaced with the same size zipper and offered to open the seam so the zipper would go down further. The next time I picked it up, they had left the seam open so the bottom of the zipper was totally exposed. I waited while they fixed that. I got home with the dress and the zipper was still not long enough for me to get into it. I will NEVER do business with them again. They do not speak English well so that may have been part of the problem. read more
